17/06/2025: From dish to dish, and from surprise to surprise. A cold Maroilles tart with bacon meringue and fried onions. The Fête de la Musique invited itself into all my taste buds, and it was a true festival. The bar that followed was divinely succulent, enhanced by a trail of vegetables carefully planted and harvested by a very pleasant team, both in the dining room and in the kitchen. And to finish, a gourmet coffee that deserves to be among the most beautiful monuments in France. Thank you for this magnificent discovery.

09/12/2025: Hello, I attended a Korean cooking class a week ago. I must admit I was disappointed. In this class, we were supposed to cook wonton broth. However, I (and all the other students) only chopped vegetables and "learned" how to fold wontons. The cooking was done by the instructor. As a result, I didn't learn how to manage the most interesting part: cooking the filling and the broth. Also, we used Tang Frères wonton wrappers; we didn't make the wrappers ourselves. Finally, at the end of the class, we were given the recipe, which I've attached. It wasn't very precise, and some ingredients were missing. The positive points: The instructor was friendly. The included meal was good. Conclusion: I think €99 to chop vegetables and fold wontons, plus eat at their restaurant, is very expensive. YouTube is just as good a teacher. And you might as well go straight to a restaurant for 35 euros and skip the class.

09/12/2025: French Onion Soup (Soupe à l’Oignon Gratinée) If Paris had a litmus test for honesty in cooking, it would be the French onion soup — and Le Relais Madeleine passes with a wink. The broth arrives with the kind of quiet confidence only a brasserie with nothing to prove can muster. The onions are properly taken past golden and deep into that mahogany stage where the natural sugars have surrendered into pure velvet sweetness. No shortcuts here — I can taste the hour-long relationship between the pan and the onions. The cheese cap? A disciplined gruyère melt, not the sloppy avalanche many brasseries try to hide behind. It stretches, it bubbles, it browns — the holy trinity. The crouton within is soaked just enough to bring comfort, but not so long that it disintegrates into surrender. They held their line. This is not the overly salty tourist-trap version. This is balanced, aromatic, and unapologetically French — the kind of bowl that reminds you that simplicity, when respected, becomes luxury.

22/09/2024: Accueil pas top ; prise de notre commande bien après un couple arrivé après nous; Il a fallu réclamer le plat alors nous terminé l'apéritif (40 mn). L'entrecôte ne ressemblait à rien, les frites on croirait un reste de la friteuse , la salade verte... n'en parlons pas !!!! Nous avions hâte de quitter l'établissement. Grosse déception.

The service is truly impeccable 👌 The card makes you want it as soon as you read it…. Very careful presentation, modern cuisine and excellent dishes. I was just a little disappointed by the dessert (panacotta) which was, in my opinion, a little less tasty than the rest of the meal.
