10/07/2026: Only the terrace was worthwhile. We ordered salads that were unseasoned and contained wilted tomatoes. The service was poor (we had to ask for bread and water) and slow.

27/06/2026: Passing by regularly on this street, we decided to treat ourselves to a midweek lunch on the terrace under the trees! The setting was indeed very pleasant. However, we were very disappointed by the food, which was quite ordinary considering the price. I was looking forward to trying the steak tartare of my childhood, but what a letdown! While the tartare was certainly hand-cut, what about the capers, the egg yolk, and the herbs and sauces that make this dish so enjoyable? For €22, a few onions or shallots... We expected better. The food is undoubtedly homemade, but for a tartare, a duck confit, and an andouillette sausage, you don't need a chef! This bistro is far too expensive, especially at lunchtime when many nearby restaurants offer quality set menus at lower prices.

08/06/2026: After a two-year absence, I returned to this little restaurant, which used to be wonderful. I noticed the price increase and the portion size decrease: four fries and a salad. What a shame! 😪 €17 for an andouillette sausage that weighs maybe 20 grams at most, and that's being generous. If you remove the skin, you'd be left with 10 grams! 🤣 It's cooked on both sides and cut in half—I've never seen anything like it, probably to reduce cooking time! 🤣🤭🥺 In short, I absolutely do not recommend it. With a syrup, a coffee, and a dessert, the bill quickly adds up to €30! 🥺 The so-called owner or manager is to be avoided at all costs—not a single thing about customer service, bordering on stupid. 🤣

15/07/2026: As regulars for 25 years, we traveled all the way from Paris on February 7th and have rarely eaten so badly. The bone marrow was a meager portion, unfortunately smothered in Parmesan (?), a first for me, and horribly salty. The calf's head was overcooked and swimming in a nameless sauce, and the sweetbreads were also in a sauce I'd never seen before, but certainly made with bouillon cubes. We'll avoid this place from now on. Our neighbors, seated at a table enjoying fish and chips with soggy fries, dissuaded us from ordering this dish. What happened?

12/07/2026: Well, this was the last straw. The Coucou des Bois restaurant, which used to be very popular, was a disaster. We ate there, and the meal was awful. The bartender served us ice cubes without gloves or tongs, and the lemon was the same. He brought us burnt tarte flambée because he forgot to take it out of the oven. Great! We left with an exorbitant bill for the meager meal. It's shameful. They should just close the restaurant. Seeing the people making a fuss, a waitress running around everywhere (poor thing), and the cook with his cap on backwards... What is the world coming to? This is supposed to be a typical Alsatian restaurant, right? I don't think so. 😡😡

09/07/2026: First visit in January 2024 * Restaurant reopened after a year of renovations. It is now part of a large group that owns around twenty restaurants in Strasbourg. The exterior and interior renovations have given the restaurant a fresh new look. Open since January 2nd, we went on the 3rd. Reservation made online. The exterior is well-lit, the interior even more so. You'll be dazzled. Everything has been renovated, from floor to ceiling. There are three rooms: the main restaurant, the first floor, and the veranda. The welcome is warm, and we were able to choose our table. The servers are all friendly, professional, responsive, and impeccably dressed. The menu is typically Alsatian. It's extensive, with something for everyone. There are many choices of tarte flambée. The prices are on the higher end for Strasbourg. For our first visit, we opted for tarte flambée, a starter, and dessert. The tart (€10.90) is excellent, with high-quality pastry and filling. The bacon is homemade. The Strasbourg salad (€6.50) is fresh and generously topped. The foie gras (€15.90) ​​is high quality, and you can tell it's also homemade. The desserts are equally impressive. For our first visit, we had a wonderful meal, a real treat. No complaints whatsoever; it's a welcome change from the previous owner. We'll be back to try the different dishes on offer and see if the quality has declined over time. The only downside was the lack of waitresses, only waiters. This is unusual and worth noting. * Returning in March and May 2024 for lunch. The Express menu is good, and there's finally a very friendly and smiling waitress. * Returning in January 2025 for Le Coucou's first anniversary. This time it was a disappointment (so I'm downgrading from 5 to 4 stars). The waiter we had was completely out of it. Maybe it was his first night, but clearly he's not cut out for this job. Too distant and obviously not very motivated. The tarte flambée wasn't the best. The cream was tasteless, the bacon was sparse, only the crust was good and crispy. The Fleichkiechle were lukewarm. The Spätzle were good, the fries undercooked. The two desserts were excellent. There's been a lapse in quality; they need to get back on track. * Return in August 2025. This time the disappointment was even greater. The tarte flambée was better than last time. Bibelaskäs was served, but the potatoes arrived 10 minutes later. The Strasbourgeoise salad wasn't good, too much lettuce, and the grated Gruyère was too fine. We wanted to order dessert, but 30 minutes after we finished eating, the plates were still in front of us. The decline continues * Return in July 2026 Service provided by two waitresses; they are efficient and complement each other. The tart is still bland and lacks flavor. The dessert (Dame Blanche) was not great, very runny. There is still room for improvement.

21/06/2026: I'm giving it 1 star so I don't give it 0. Cold food. Frozen fries for my husband, and as for the toasted sandwich, forget about it. Really, really bad, and on top of that, the three waitresses were unpleasant. Judging by the responses to the negative reviews, you can see the friendly atmosphere of this place.

09/07/2026: Very good, but the service was very slow; we waited over 20 minutes for our order. Then our aperitif arrived two minutes later, and the meal arrived with some mistakes. The wait to order was far too long, but the meal arrived so quickly afterward; that's unacceptable. However, the food was excellent. We'll return another time to see if the service is the same.

05/07/2026: We had an excellent dinner at this restaurant just outside the center of Hyères. We enjoyed delicious, beautifully presented dishes while dining on the lovely outdoor patio. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive. I would happily come back!

27/06/2026: Original and simply delicious dishes – the crab omelet and the confit suckling pig were cooked to perfection – top-notch presentation, and attentive service from a very pleasant team. 🙂 We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a wonderful time on the lovely patio of La Colombe. 🙂
