11/12/2025: We ate there today and we won't be going back. We were served a bowl of salad with three large green leaves for €3.20. For dessert, my wife, who is lactose intolerant, ordered a chocolate/almond crepe for €5.60, asking for a buckwheat crepe batter instead of a regular crepe batter. Without warning, she was charged an extra €3, which is over 50% more. Generally speaking, I'd add that the crepes are very sparsely filled (three apple slices in an apple crepe). What a rip-off! If you eat at this creperie, don't make the same mistake we did: check your bill twice before paying.

The products are high quality and excellent! Moreover, the setting is very pleasant, being so close to the port of Sausset-Les-Pins. I recommend it.

Dining in the cold on January 3rd was beyond unpleasant. I reported it because it was freezing, and other customers complained as well. I'm afraid I'll get sick. The food was mediocre than usual. The waitresses were overwhelmed. We won't be back in winter.

We stayed at Hotel Castellan in Châtel for a weekend with my company colleagues (around 10 of us), and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The rooms were clean, cosy, and very comfortable, and the location is perfect, beautiful views, easy access to the village, and great connections to the ski pistes. Everything was very convenient after long days on the slopes. Our stay included breakfast and dinner, and both were really good: delicious, generous, and exactly what you need after a full ski day. What really made the difference was the staff, always friendly, helpful, and easy to deal with. They made us feel very welcome throughout the whole stay. I would highly recommend Hotel Castellan, and we’re already looking forward to coming back, either with my family or with friends. We truly fell in love with Châtel and this hotel. Thank you, Hotel Castellan, and see you again very soon!

27/01/2026: It's such a shame your room rates have skyrocketed! Today, a standard room with half-board at your Castellan is more expensive than at Les Cornettes, a grand luxury hotel (with Michelin-starred cuisine), and even at the Hotel Macchi, the only 4-star hotel in the valley! You used to offer good value for money; it seems that's no longer the case.

03/01/2026: We took advantage of the New Year's break to finally visit this castle, which we had wanted to see for some time. Overall, honestly, this four-star establishment offers excellent value for money: a pleasant room for two at €130, a generous and delicious set menu prepared by a Master Chef for €195, and a satisfactory breakfast at €18. It's a beautiful, very well-maintained residence. The service was professional and courteous, especially from the head waiter. Our disappointments stemmed from two things: firstly, the welcome, which lacked warmth, smiles, and enthusiasm. Secondly, in our room, number 6, we were very inconvenienced by the two single beds instead of a double bed, which kept shifting apart with every movement throughout the night; two very thin pillows, so we had to ask for two more (coincidentally, of better quality); and a duvet without a cover, which isn't very hygienic! In short, a bit stingy with many products and services; the place is also only moderately heated. It was freezing! Finally, this castle is ideal for a regular stay because for New Year's Eve it was very quiet and subdued, no DJ or entertainment, and no atmosphere whatsoever; you could barely hear the soft music in the distance! It's much more enjoyable to stay there when the weather is nice and warm!

02/11/2025: The Grands Bains offer a soothing and rejuvenating experience, with a splendid mountain view. The atmosphere is relaxing and perfect for unwinding. Reservations are required, and I recommend avoiding the end of the day, as it gets very crowded. Despite this, the setting and the quality of the experience are truly worthwhile. A peaceful escape not to be missed! 🤩

02/10/2025: A victim of its own success. Far too many people, far too noisy, and service and cleanliness that leave something to be desired. Between parents mistaking the musical cave or the trilogy pools for paddling pools, the steam room and sauna as crowded as a subway at rush hour (including children under 12), and groups of unsupervised teenagers, it's far from relaxing. It feels more like a municipal swimming pool on a summer day than a relaxation area. And 23 euros for two hours in a municipal pool is very expensive, very, very expensive.
