11/07/2026: A friendly spot in the heart of Roubaix that's definitely worth a visit. We appreciated the warm welcome from the waiter yesterday afternoon; my visually impaired wife thanks him for his kindness and helpfulness. The beers, a Kwak and a Kamerliet in 33cl bottles, were served chilled for €8.10, unlike in Lille where we usually pay €14.90 for the same quantity.

25/07/2026: We enjoyed delicious pancakes and nut cake on a charming square. The friendly service certainly deserves a mention as well.

05/07/2026: It took some nerve to set up this "riverside café" right in the middle of the industrial zone. The gamble paid off: you're right by the sea, the menu is brasserie-style, nothing extraordinary gastronomically, but the food is decent. Just a word of advice during the summer months: book your table or arrive early.

04/07/2026: Frankly, I'm very disappointed. I arrive, and there are two people ordering at what appears to be the "land" side of the restaurant, and they seem to be together. I stand to their right, waiting to be served. The first person orders and takes a little while, no problem, except I realize they weren't with the second person. I apologize for the confusion, but in the meantime, a queue has formed behind them. I try to explain the misunderstanding, and the waitress coldly and condescendingly tells me that there's been a queue for ages and that I should get in line, which is completely untrue... Then there's the price, exorbitant, and you have to serve and clear your own table? Seriously, a guinguette (a type of open-air restaurant) should have guinguette prices, or you have to serve yourself. Unacceptable.

05/07/2026: Tasteless food. Typical tourist trap. Sour rice, I don't know if it's due to a bad recipe or some other reason. Pasta with no taste at all. High price for what it offers...

17/05/2026: +: A hotel at the foot of the mountain passes, well located. A spa and swimming pool that are a welcome treat after a day in the cold Auvergne weather. A hearty breakfast, good croissants. Bike parking. Owners who are accommodating to large group bookings. -: Basic but clean rooms! A cold welcome and patronizing, almost inappropriate remarks. Sometimes you get the feeling you're intruding even when members of the group ask "normal" questions (like the cold shower water...). It's a shame, because the setting is lovely.

13/05/2026: Fantastic welcome! Excellent food, fresh and generous portions. The waiter was very attentive and gave excellent wine recommendations! Very reasonable price. The room was superb, and the swimming pool was a real bonus. Thank you for your hospitality, I'll be back!

29/06/2026: A quick lunch break in the middle of our long hike. Warm welcome, simple but very good food for the set menu. Quick service. I recommend it.

29/05/2026: I don't know what the food was like, since we arrived at 1:50 PM and they told us they weren't serving us anymore, even though they close at 3:00 PM and the tables weren't occupied. We went out of our way for an hour for nothing. Disappointing.

31/05/2026: We celebrated our wedding at L’aurienchon gîte over three days, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The gîte is fantastic; everything is designed to make you feel right at home. Béatrice and Eric are incredibly welcoming and always ready to help. We received a very warm welcome. We savored a delicious meal prepared by Béatrice, and a wonderfully generous brunch. We had the wedding we dreamed of: friendly and authentic. A huge thank you!

18/05/2026: We had a wonderful family weekend. The chalet was very well equipped. The living and games room and bar were lovely. The bedrooms were comfortable. The welcome was warm.

25/07/2026: I arrived at 12:30 PM, my pizza didn't arrive until 1:45 PM, and my wife's pasta arrived 15 minutes later... burnt. The pizza wasn't bad, but the service was a kitchen nightmare. Three tables that arrived after us were served 25 minutes before us. In short, if you have the afternoon to spare and want to experience everything that's wrong with customer service, go for it. As an added bonus, the owner brushes you off when you express your dissatisfaction.

25/07/2026: It took two hours to be served, and not even at the same time. For an order of pasta and pizza, that's more than unacceptable. And when we pointed it out, the owner/pizza chef bluntly told us, "Don't you dare come back, you're just complaining." I'm not spending my hard-earned money with people like that. If you're not hungry, go ahead, you'll be in your element!

03/07/2026: Today's hake fillet was so tough it was impossible to cut the fish. Inedible. The caramel cream had no flavor. A low-quality meal. It felt like eating in a school cafeteria. Avoid it.
