Brasserie Capoul
Toulouse
05/06/2026: Truly very disappointing since the change of ownership; we're not the first to notice, the cashier told me. The food for a Mother's Day menu was only Novotel-level (minimalist presentation, edible mushrooms, a slice of foie gras with lots of waste... we left without dessert or coffee) for such an iconic Toulouse establishment. The prices are high for such poor food! Avoid this place... cross the street to the Pyrénéen; at least they're a reliable choice, they've managed to improve... perhaps the same will happen one day for the Novotel!
29/05/2026: The starter was original, however, the curried shrimp dish was al dente; I would have preferred it a little longer. The location was excellent, the terrace pleasant, and the staff smiling and friendly.

Crepes City
Chaussée-Dantin, Paris
19/07/2026: It's just not good; there are plenty of other crêperies in Paris that are really worth it, so there's no point in wasting your money here. Besides, I noticed that the owners are really disrespectful to their employees, which definitely creates a bad atmosphere in the crêperie. In short, I strongly advise against going there.
18/07/2026: The sweet crepes aren't good and are overpriced for what they are; otherwise, the service is fine, the staff are friendly, but if you're looking for a delicious meal, look elsewhere.

Le Pti' Resto
Aubigny
19/05/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant.
Despite being very busy, the waiter found us a table. The food was perfectly acceptable, and the service was prompt. The prices were reasonable.
17/05/2026: Starter + main course or main course + dessert, or all three. Three choices per course, generous portions, tasty and simple. Prices range from €12.50 to €16.50 depending on the set menu. Quick and easy access, Leclerc parking, shopping, petrol...

A La Bonne Auberge
Laval
24/12/2025: We stayed for a Christmas market weekend. The hotel is very well located, barely a 10-minute walk from the center. There are a few parking spaces in the small streets surrounding the hotel. The room was small, but sufficient for one night. However, the bedding was very soft and the walls were thin. The breakfast room is tiny, but the buffet was well-stocked.
08/11/2025: Very good restaurant
Comfortable room
Very good reception and service

Sebastien Gaudard
Palais-Royal, Paris
30/06/2026: The customer service from the Japanese female staff member here is terrible.
Sometimes you encounter Japanese people living in France who dislike other Japanese people living in France, and this staff member is one of them.
As soon as we entered and she saw us, she disappeared into the back without even a greeting.
She didn't come out for a while, and only reluctantly appeared when my friend called her.
Then, for some reason, the female staff member asked us if we were tourists. We could tell that it was a malicious question, so we decided not to buy anything there anymore.
This woman is there every time we come here.
If you want to buy something from Sebastien Gaudard, I recommend going to a different store.
30/06/2026: Highly recommended! The pastries are fantastic, well done! A lovely break at your place, I'll definitely be back.

Chez Mme Phok
Saint-Laurent-Du-Var
03/08/2026: The food was okay, but the female owner's service was so-so. I saw her give wet towels to foreigners but not to me, I don't know why. I usually tip, but I made an exception today 😂
11/06/2026: I highly recommend this restaurant; the welcome was very warm and friendly. The food was delicious.
We came as a family and were all pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the dishes we chose.

L'orangerie du jardin public
Bordeaux
05/08/2026: The service is so unpleasant that we haven't been there for a long time. I read the reviews and I realize it's still the same. When is someone going to put their foot down?!
04/08/2026: The food was good and the setting is very nice, but the service (from a thin, older waiter with a mustache) was terrible. He treated us badly because we were tourists. He was impatient, angry, rude to a small child, and served us after the locals. Sadly, we strongly advise against this restaurant.

Fleur De Sel
Boulogne-Sur-Mer
07/07/2026: We had a wonderful meal at this excellent seafood restaurant! The place is elegant and the staff very friendly. We were even able to bring our cocker spaniel in, and one of the waitresses offered to bring him a bowl of water. Absolutely lovely!
A place we will definitely return to.
02/07/2026: We came as a group with an agency from Le Havre. The day started off very well with a guided tour led by an exceptional gentleman who knew all the history of the magnificent cathedral and the Boulogne-sur-Mer town hall. Afterwards, we went to the restaurant "La Fleur de Sel," where another story began. We all arrived, went up the stairs opposite the entrance, and entered a rather ordinary room where two waitresses were waiting for us, their smiles barely concealed. We were seated, and the starter arrived immediately: a shallow ramekin presented as a crème brûlée. The top was sweet, and underneath was supposedly foie gras (we were trying to figure out what this foie gras tasted like). We devoured the starter in a minute. Then came the Flemish carbonnade, which on the plate consisted of two small pieces of meat and a ladleful of mashed potatoes (homemade, at least). Small portions, but it was good. Next came dessert: a slate with a mini apple, core removed, thankfully, and covered in a small amount of milk chocolate. The apple was very hard. The worst part is that when you pay for a day through an agency, everything is supposed to be included. But here, the aperitif was extra: €4.50 for a small glass of sparkling wine, without even asking what flavor you wanted, and the coffee at the end was also extra. It's outrageous! I definitely don't recommend this restaurant.

Le Cellier Du Manoir
Gressy
25/05/2026: A beautiful, bucolic spot spoiled by overcrowding, especially considering the limited outdoor space. It felt cramped, making it difficult to find a quiet corner.
To make matters worse, we had to contend with a wedding and about fifty guests, adding to the already crowded atmosphere. Dinner was decent, but the pre-packaged breakfast was rather meager considering its high price. Potential, but poorly utilized. A shame!
24/05/2026: We were more than disappointed!
We booked a night at this 4-star Manor House through the Staycation app, which seemed perfect for €153 per night:
- Room with balcony
- Swimming pool
- Access to the tennis court + 20 minutes in the sauna
- Complimentary glass of Prosecco.
We had to change our reservation date (which was confirmed by the Manor House, the app, by phone, and by email).
When we arrived at reception, we were shocked to discover that the reservation "hadn't been entered into the system." The hostess told us we didn't have a room. She eventually found one, but we realized we had been downgraded to a standard room without a balcony. The hostess explained that we would be refunded €20 for this misunderstanding. This is something that can sometimes happen, but I want to remind everyone that this is a 4-star hotel with a certain standard to uphold.
Upon arriving in our room, it was a disaster:
- Rotten woodwork
- Dirty and worn toilet bowls
- Damp patches on the walls
- Poorly applied paint job
- Peeling wallpaper
- Rusty sink drain
- Dust on the light fixtures…
We decided to enjoy the pool, still disappointed by our first hour there. Upon arriving at the pool, we found it to be well-maintained, despite its small size for a place with 85 rooms, not to mention the meager 10 sun loungers (unworthy of a 4-star hotel) which were clearly insufficient for the number of guests. Most people were leaving their towels and belongings on the ground.
We decided to leave without even having eaten or slept there. We submitted a refund request to the app and are still waiting for a response. We're also waiting for the supposed €20 refund 🤷♀️
To be perfectly honest, I find it pathetic to charge such a high price (even with a Staycation discount) for an experience like this. This manor house may boast about having 4 stars, but it absolutely doesn't deserve them. Having stayed in numerous hotels throughout France, we've seen 2-star hotels that were far better than this one. I've never in my life had problems like this with a booking, let alone been downgraded or given such a dilapidated room.
I have no complaints about the quality of the service, which was adequate despite all these issues.
If I had to give you advice: find a nearby manor house or hotel that will be the same price or cheaper, but will undoubtedly be much better than this place.

Brulerie Caumartin Cafe
Chaussée-Dantin, Paris
15/04/2026: On a very pleasant pedestrian street, I stopped at this brasserie.
I can't judge the food, having only had a pint of Grimbergen—which cost €11.60, still quite expensive, even considering the location.
However, the experience on the terrace was particularly disappointing.
First, I asked a waiter if he could take my order. He simply replied, "It'll be here," without any further explanation. I then realized it wasn't "his" table.
A waitress then arrived. I ordered a beer and asked for a carafe of water. She returned with a single glass of water, explaining that since I wasn't ordering anything, I wasn't entitled to a carafe. Surprised, I asked for another glass, and finally she agreed to bring me a carafe. A few minutes later, the first waiter returned… to take away my half-full carafe of water, telling me in a passive-aggressive tone, “If you don’t eat, you’re not entitled to a carafe of water.”
I was genuinely shocked by this attitude, which made me feel like I was being treated like a child. In fact, some older customers near me were also taken aback by the scene.
A very unpleasant customer experience, which contrasts sharply with the otherwise pleasant setting.
11/04/2026: The unfriendly waiters spoiled the quality of service. The waiter in the dining room openly complained to the customers, and the bartender made snide remarks when we made the mistake of trying to pay at the bar.
Given the number of bars nearby, I recommend going elsewhere.

Chalet le Foehn
Fontcouverte-La-Toussuire
21/03/2026: Simple but good food. A bit pricey, but the view makes you forget that. Unpleasant smell in the corner of the terrace.
12/03/2026: I can't understand the negative reviews of this restaurant; the service is quick and the food is good. Having tried both restaurants at altitude in La Toussuire, this one is far better than the Carlines self-service restaurant.

Boulangerie des Palmiers
La Croix-Valmer
25/07/2026: The taste of some of the pastries was really strange. For example, the walnut one was extremely dry. As for the coffee, it tasted like it had been mixed with road dust. I don't think I'll be back.
💋
17/07/2026: This is where you'll find the best baguettes, pain au chocolat, filled baguettes, pastries, and more. It's no wonder people sometimes queue up all the way out onto the street. The wait times are reasonable, though, and the staff is always friendly and helpful despite the large number of customers!
If you have any questions, they'll even help you in English.
The prices are absolutely fair.

La Carpe D'or
Le Quesnoy
22/07/2026: We ate there as a family. The meal was decent. For our hamburgers, we ordered our meat rare, and unfortunately, it was overcooked. The buns were ice-cold in the crumb, I suspect frozen, and the fries were not great—greasy and stale. It's a shame because it could be fantastic.
19/07/2026: Non-existent service. On the terrace, you have to get your drinks from the bar and serve yourself. Tables are neither cleared nor cleaned. Saving on staff? Without lower prices.

La Brise
Saintes-Maries-De-La-Mer
09/06/2026: Big site but everyone crammed into a couple of areas we could not get on the pitch we were given so moved to a different one then told we could not use that one and given another. Only stayed for 2 days village short walk and plenty of shops and restaurants very tidy.
19/05/2026: The campsite isn’t particularly well cared for. We were stationed next to the service technique, there was no lighting of a night and it was pitch black going to the sanitary block - very unpleasant and unnerving.
The chef is lovely but his food is terrible and the entertainment is bizarre
The security is basic and thieves operate in the area. Our bike was stolen and they did nothing to assist us.
Camargue itself is pretty but there are so many mosquitos - I came away with over 50 bites
There were loads of flamingoes just behind the campsite and that’s really why we came, so we ticked that off on day one
We regretted paying for 3 nights and wished we’d left after one
