14/01/2026: The place is stuck in the past. The menu is on a chalkboard, but they don't tell you that. The waitress was completely unprofessional; she came back at least three times for the bricks because she wasn't available, even though it was 12:15 pm. The same goes for the main courses; there were four of us, but we ate in pairs because the service was incredibly slow. We only got our bottle of wine almost at the very end, and the same goes for the after-dinner drinks; the owner brought them to us in dribs and drabs. The food is very classic: herring in oil, a classic, so it's hard to go wrong; the mechoui was very generous but very dry; the couscous was also very generous, but the semolina was just passable because the chicken was very dry and the broth was average. It's a place for locals who are regulars, but the price reflects the quality. The portions are indeed very generous, but the price is in line with the taste.

It wouldn't have been nearly as perfect without this fabulous place, "Aux Plaisirs D'Antan." A heartfelt thank you to Mélanie, Alexandre, and their team; I can tell you it was absolutely fantastic. The sea-themed decorations (my passion!), the tables, the entertainment by Ludo Sono, the service, the meal, the grilled food by Chef Alexandre (it was amazing!), the wines, the desserts... Everything was pure bliss. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️. I'm starting to come back down to earth 😉. Happy Easter! Vincent.

12/04/2026: A very nice bar with very long happy hours. It's a victim of its own success, as the terrace is almost always full and the interior is a bit too noisy. Note that there's a minimum spend on credit cards, so remember to bring cash.

04/04/2026: Thank you to the entire hostel staff who came to the aid of the passengers on our Lyon-Bordeaux bus, which broke down for over 3 hours today, practically right outside their door. Their kindness deserves this mention 🙏

03/04/2026: A wonderful discovery! Generous portions and impeccable service. The waitresses were very friendly. The dining room is beautiful. One small drawback: we were in the middle of the main room and it was a bit noisy. I highly recommend this restaurant, which in my opinion offers the best value for money in the Clermont-Ferrand area. We will be back.

22/04/2026: Nestled amidst stunning natural surroundings, with fields ablaze with daffodils, a few cows already grazing outside, donkeys, and horses, the hotel is truly open to nature. The warm welcome immediately puts you at ease. The comfortable rooms are very peaceful. The homemade cuisine, featuring local products, introduces you to new flavors, such as various dishes with Fin Gras du Mézenc beef, beef rillettes, hay ice cream, and a variety of jams (including elderflower). The cheese platter is very generous, offering a wide selection of cheeses from the surrounding area. The owners are very attentive to their guests. In short, a place to discover for a truly enjoyable stay; well worth a detour if you're in the area.

12/04/2026: We arrived by chance after a tree fell across the road blocking our way. Anne, the owner, welcomed us at almost 11 pm, showed us to a magnificent and charming room, and ensured we had an incredibly peaceful night's rest. Breakfast was equally incredible; everything was homemade with care, creativity, and passion. The flavors were exceptional, just as they were when we continued our stay in the restaurant that evening. Because yes, it wasn't just a temporary stopover! We extended our stay in this beautiful and welcoming establishment. But let's get back to the restaurant. Anne is still at the helm in the kitchen with the same talent and passion. She delights her guests with flavorful cuisine, classic dishes from our gastronomy, and a touch of creativity. The small vegetable garden and herb garden that Anne cultivates on her magnificent, verdant terrace also contribute to her delicious cooking. As you can see, we highly recommend a stop at the Logis Hôtel Auberge la Barguillère, where we will definitely return!

10/04/2026: Everything was perfect during our stay. Great communication with Anne, the owner/property manager, easy check-in, spotless rooms in a charming building, parking nearby. We had breakfast which was delicious; everything you can imagine: eggs, ham, cheese, biscuits, croissants, rhubarb and ginger marmelade, home-made yogurt, flan, banana bread, hot cocoa and the yummiest coffee. So much food, we had some leftovers for the road! The place is about 10 min outside of Foix which is not necessarily an issue. If I ever return to Foix, I will return to Anne’s!

08/04/2026: It was an absolutely delicious evening at Fischerstub. We had an appetizer, main course, and dessert, and every dish was superbly prepared and beautifully presented. We especially recommend the "Dörelei" beer, which was suggested to us by the server and was truly delicious. The service was consistently attentive and very accommodating, and they were even able to advise us in German, which made the evening even more relaxing. Overall, a very successful evening; we would gladly return and highly recommend the restaurant.

08/04/2026: Pleasant setting, friendly staff. Very generous portion, it's a shame you can't choose a mix of two toppings without an extra charge. I recommend it.

We dined with a large group, and they managed without any waiting between courses! The service is impeccable; the servers are typical of their region: welcoming and friendly! The dishes are succulent, and their cassoulet is simply the best I've ever tasted. If you're looking for regional specialties, don't hesitate; you won't be disappointed.
