03/05/2026: I went at the end of April and had a wonderful time. The welcome was fantastic; the owner and his wife were so welcoming and attentive. The meal was excellent, there was a bit of a wait, but there were eight of us. But I have absolutely no complaints; everything was delicious, right down to the fries. I would definitely go back.

16/07/2026: The best wine bar, the benchmark in Old Nice. Established in 1947, Jean-Philippe Gazan, the owner and manager of La Cave de la Tour, is dedicated to preserving traditions. For connoisseurs and lovers of Niçois wines, they offer wines from Bellet and Saint-Jeannet, at the foot of the Baou. Even if you're welcomed in, you'll feel like you've entered paradise. "There are men and there are Niçois," proclaims the slogan above the entrance; it says it all. The best selection of rosés is available at the bar, particularly from the Estandon cooperative winery. They also offer local wines on tap, available to take away in bottles. Always excellent. Consider ordering small plates for an aperitif (especially the beautiful charcuterie board) and come for the annual World Championship of Stuffed Vegetables – it's a truly prestigious event! 22/07/2026: A disastrous experience. I bought a takeaway breakfast. I'd barely sat down at a table for a few minutes to take an important call (about five minutes) when an employee approached me and asked me to leave in a particularly aggressive manner, claiming that my order was for takeaway. It was only 8:30 a.m., and the establishment was practically empty. The staff's behavior is simply deplorable: no courtesy, no sense of customer service, and no understanding whatsoever. You really feel like you're bothering them. Such an unpleasant attitude is unacceptable in a business that serves the public. I strongly advise against this establishment, mainly because of its staff, who are far from up to standard. Fortunately, there are other places where customers are treated with respect and professionalism.

08/07/2026: Claudine is smiling and the welcome is immediately warm. However, I'm surprised and quite indignant that the employees are so hot in their shop. I didn't want to stay a minute longer. It's a shame, because there's space to eat, but it's an oven, and the number of customers is suffering as a result. And for the employees, it's immoral and inhumane.

22/07/2026: Found this restaurant by chance last night. Warm welcome, very friendly waiter. The meal was good and reasonably priced. They offered us an extra dessert for the children's menu, which was a very nice touch. I recommend it.

03/08/2026: Too expensive for what it is, the same price as a restaurant except it's a self-service place with very average quality/quantity ("small vegetables" in the children's menu: 2 cherry tomatoes). The only downside: no air conditioning during a heatwave, making it unbearable. Avoid it.

22/02/2026: Lunch with family while skiing - and unfortunately it was a real disappointment. For a venue with around 140-150 seats, having just one single-person toilet is frankly unacceptable. The queue was consistently 10+ people deep, which is not what you expect when you’re trying to get back out onto the slopes. The food - below mediocre and massively overpriced for the quality delivered. The interior - tired and run-down, looks cheap and the overall layout is to squeeze in as many covers as possible rather than creating a comfortable dining experience. Service from the waiting staff was okay, but the manager was notably unfriendly and dismissive, which only added to the poor experience. Would not return and would advise others to avoid.

16/07/2026: The chicken was actually delicious, but the customer service was absolutely outrageous! Yesterday, I bought a meal deal for about four people (a whole chicken with a portion of fries). Unfortunately, the chicken wasn't fresh at all – it tasted old and almost expired. Out of fear of food poisoning or diarrhea, we only ate about a quarter of it. The next day, I went back to the store with the remaining three-quarters of the chicken to politely and quietly complain to the cashier. But instead of a friendly solution, they made a huge fuss. First, they said it was "normal" and they wouldn't replace anything. After a lot of back and forth, they finally gave me a new chicken – but they flatly refused to give me the fries again. Since the meal deal wasn't complete for us without the fries, and it only cost the store a few cents, I insisted on getting them as compensation for the trouble and the ruined dinner. Even worse: In the end, I was rudely told to just leave. I'm truly appalled by this behavior. Normally, it should be in the seller's interest to resolve a complaint properly—especially when it involves such small amounts that cost the store almost nothing. I've actually been a customer here quite often, and the chicken was always good and fresh. But this lack of cooperation and the extremely rude service are absolutely unacceptable by today's standards. It's a real shame, but I won't be shopping here again anytime soon.

18/04/2026: I ordered a mint chocolate milkshake, and it turned out to be a scoop of ice cream with stale milk added on top. I call that a "mint milk" (a play on words, as "L'OL" is a French expression meaning "the Lyon bar"). Really disappointed.

27/07/2026: I can't really share my experience. I asked if I could sit down for a drink on the terrace. They said yes. I sat down. And from that moment on, I became invisible to the waiter. So, after a while, I left, having been unable to order.

20/07/2026: Very disappointed. We arrived at 2 p.m. and were refused entry to the restaurant. I understand having a closing time and I fully respect that rule. However, a few moments later, I saw an employee throw all the remaining desserts into a bucket. I found this scene truly shocking. Turning customers away while throwing away so much food gives an impression of waste that's hard to comprehend.

18/07/2026: Horrible experience, practically denied entry because my attire wasn't appropriate. It's a bar, not a nightclub, especially since I usually dress well. The bouncer was unpleasant even though everyone else was wearing the same clothes. It's a heatwave, I'm not going to wear a three-piece suit, thank you very much. In short, avoid this place.
