22/09/2026: We remember that evening at Au Trotthus with a certain affection—and at the same time with that quiet reserve that arises when an experience, while harmonious, wasn't entirely convincing. Days before, we had discovered the restaurant on a side street, almost hidden away, nearly at the end of the small alley. It was precisely this unassuming nature that immediately appealed to us, and we made a reservation without hesitation. On September 14, 2026, we received an exceptionally warm welcome and were allowed to choose the most beautiful table from the available ones. It had caught our eye the first time we walked by: right at the back, where the building's most massive beams radiate their centuries-old tranquility. A place with character, warm and inviting. The drinks arrived promptly, and we had ample time to put together our dinner. The restaurant serves traditional cuisine, so we opted for a true Alsatian evening. Maultaschen de Pois, Salade de Choucroute, and – a first for both of us – Parmentier d’effiloché de Bœuf d’Alsace. The crème brûlée for dessert was only manageable for my wife; my starter was practically a main course, and together with the main course, it was simply too much. The plates were attractively presented, the food solid, but generally rather under-seasoned, and overall too bland. The ambiance, on the other hand, was pleasant, the restaurant charming, and we felt comfortable. Ultimately, however, the lavish meal remained a rather harmless, somewhat bland experience – friendly, comfortable, but lacking that little spark that makes an evening truly unforgettable.

26/08/2026: Still as popular as ever!!! The mussels are amazing, even though they're tiny this year!!! But the wait was way too long, even though we arrived at 6:20 pm!!! It's practically the only all-you-can-eat mussel restaurant on the entire coast!!!

08/10/2026: Had a lovely dinner, but the woman who welcomed us seemed to be really displeased with our presence. Her colleague was extremely friendly and even started talking in English when he noticed that we weren’t native French speakers. The food and restaurant itself is amazing. Just such a bummer that she was so unfriendly towards us specifically. (I’m sorry that our French isn’t perfect…)

14/08/2026: Stayed in nearby Blyes for a night. Found this restaurant online, looked very good, menu very interesting. So we took a quick drive and came for dinner. Since Saturday we've made an online reservation a few days before. A good thing, since it was pretty packed that night. Parking was just across the street. Very convenient. It was a warm summer evening, so we booked a table outside, as almost all guests did. We did come pretty early, so we got our orders in pretty fast. For starters we've went for the hot Foie Gras (the both of us). For the mains we chose the Filet de Boeuf with Chimichurri sauce and the Tartare de crevettes aux épices with Ajo Blanco et hareng fumé (smoked Herring). All the dishes were really nicely presented, colorful - a feast for your eyes. A complementary Amuse-bouche was served as well. But also taste-wise all dishes were winners! The beef was a fantastic piece, perfectly cooked as ordered. Juicy, tender. Great flavours. The shrimp tartare with herring was very innovative, quite fresh and light. A great summer dish! And the Foie Gras was excellent. A nice, generous piece and a sweet/brioche bread. Really matched wonderfully. The beef came with a side of sweet potatoes mash with regular potatoes. Very nice. The bottle of Chardonnay did fit the meal very well. Staff was nice and friendly. And the prices are fair for the presentation and quality of ingredients. Paid around 130 Euros for everything. A real gem, this one. Nice setting, very comfy, cosy and relaxed. Pets welcome as well. Come early if you want to avoid the big crowds and make a reservation. It surely is a great restaurant and worth a drive. Fantastic french food with some creative twists!

14/08/2026: Honestly… more beautiful than delicious. The setting and presentation are quite pleasant, but unfortunately, that's where the experience ends. We waited 40 minutes before we could even order, then another hour before receiving our appetizers. We had to ask three times for a simple carafe of water… At this point, it's not just a wait, it's clearly a lack of organization. The service was very cold, impersonal, and clearly impersonal. No special attention, no real interaction; we really felt like we were just there to get the tables turned over. And the bill? €168 for four people, just the set menus. For that price, we obviously expected much better. The fish was literally swimming in butter, which left a bad taste in my stomach. The tomatoes were completely bland and tasteless, and overall, we found the dishes very disappointing for the price. We did, however, take the time to express our disappointment to the person who served us. Their response? In essence: "Yes, okay, sorry, but these are exceptional products." No self-reflection, no gesture of goodwill, nothing. Apparently, calling the products "exceptional" is enough to justify the price and end the discussion. 😅 I remain frankly perplexed by the numerous positive reviews… We clearly didn't have the same experience. For our part, we absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. At €214 for four people with drinks, we have the right to expect much better, both in terms of the food and the service.

28/08/2026: Its a small restaraunt, but packs a punch. Every time I visit Paris I always come back. The food is absolutely amazing, absolutely everything is thought out; ingredients, textures, variety, etc. Coming to CUISINE makes me appreciate the restaraunt business more because of how artistic the food is. An absolute must try, I highly reccomend.

05/08/2026: The food was excellent, expertly prepared, and the service was perfect. It's a small neighborhood restaurant, so seating is limited, with a small sidewalk terrace. I recommend it.

20/09/2026: We came to pay our respects, but left deeply disappointed. We called this crêperie to come as a family to pay our respects to Aude, who passed away in February. It was her favorite crêperie, and we simply wanted to keep her memory alive. There were about fifteen of us, and we were told, "No, it's not possible, there are too many of you." We decided to come anyway, spreading ourselves out across several tables so as not to cause any disturbance. Upon arrival, they said, "If you're the group of 15 who called, we told you no." We immediately understood that we weren't welcome. Yet, the service was very quick, we didn't cause any inconvenience, and other customers even arrived after us. The welcome and the staff's attitude made us so uncomfortable that Jaz, 11 years old, ended up saying, "It's better if the food did the service." A phrase that unfortunately sums up the atmosphere very well. Another major disappointment: the swing provided for children, which we found to be in very poor condition. Eight-year-old Tess fell heavily while using it. We can understand that an establishment might refuse a group that is too large. However, the way we were received leaves us with a particularly bitter memory of a place that nevertheless held great sentimental value for our family.
