Rustic setting around a beautiful, romantic fireplace. The cuisine was refined and delicious. We had an excellent, original, and family-friendly evening. We will gladly return. 24/01/2026: A truly delightful experience with so many positive points… A very warm welcome (even the dog!), a very authentic and pleasant dining room, high-quality cuisine, beautifully prepared dishes, and attentive, discreet, and highly efficient service. This is the first time I've given such high praise across the board. Congratulations to the entire team and thank you for such a warm welcome; what you do is quite rare and was greatly appreciated by us! We live in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department (04) and we will be back.

31/01/2026: Stopped here overnight on our way from Switzerland in November, an amazing spot with some outstanding food, the service was impeccable and we enjoyed the chance to try different wines from the area. A treat the following morning to be shown the wine cellar by Romuald and talk about his long career at the top of the culinary food scene

21/12/2025: This is an exceptional place. The restaurant and service is outstanding and yet manages to be unpretentious. As someone who is gluten intolerant it is one of the few establishments I have come across in France who take pride in not just accommodating the dietary preference but ensuring they had prepared special amuse bouche without gluten. It is a reflection of the care and attention to detail they take. Worth making a detour to visit (even if you are not gluten intolerant!).

27/01/2026: We go there once a month, sometimes more, and it's always a real pleasure. The meat is excellent, the red wine is superb, and the charcuterie is simply incredible. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients; everything is fresh and flavorful. And on top of that, the chef is fantastic: welcoming, passionate, and it shows in the food. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food and quality ingredients!

13/03/2026: A charming address, a magical place nestled among the fir trees and right on the slopes. Julie and her team are incredibly attentive, and it's pure bliss. A huge congratulations also to the Chef and his team in the kitchen; a culinary journey as beautiful as it is delicious. I had the pleasure of staying at this establishment last year, again this year, and my family trip is already planned for next year!

09/03/2026: The location is exceptional, the view of Mont Blanc from the rooms and terraces is magnificent. Everything is spacious and bright. A true ski-in/ski-out experience. Breakfast is very good with plenty of homemade cakes (freshly squeezed orange juice would have been a welcome addition, though). The evening menus are varied, alternating between fish and meat dishes. The cooking is perfect. We were always offered lovely desserts. Perhaps we would have appreciated a choice between two main courses. But we understand that you need to plan your supplies carefully, as you cook on-site with products that are most likely fresh. In any case, we felt a genuine desire to satisfy us and adapt to our tastes. All the staff are incredibly attentive. Julie, the manager, is very welcoming. She offers excellent advice, both about her hotel and the resort. We will most certainly return as soon as possible.

22/10/2025: Such an amazing experience. Liz and Joe were the most gracious hosts and treated my partner and I exceptionally. With an incredibly informative tour, exceptional food and world class wine. Anything written in this review doesn't do the evening we spent with them enough credit to an unforgettable night and lovley people. If we ever have the opportunity of being in the region again, we will be returning.

24/09/2025: Winery visit: it is impossible to overstate the warmth of hospitality of Joe and Liz! We arrived as strangers, and left feeling like family. The winery tour was everything we could have hoped for: starting with a chilled glass of white on the terrace overlooking the hills, tasting grapes on the vine about to be harvested, a tour of the equipment, pouring wines straight from the tank and dipping a cask, with Joe telling anecdotes about the history as well as explaining how it’s done. Finally Liz’s amazing and generous cooking in their beautiful dining room, including her home-cured salmon. She even tweaked the menu to ensure that our young Asian friends got a home-cooked rice dish. Convivial doesn’t begin to describe it. Thankfully, Liz also arranged with our taxi driver to come back rather later than originally planned 😂. Practical note: it’s about 20 minutes drive from Carcassonne and they can recommend taxi drivers.

03/03/2026: Fantastic experience! We came as a family and were delighted by the excellent value for money of the pizzas (a real treat). The children's menus are very generous at €10 (they can choose their pizza just like the adults, their drink, and one of the many desserts on the menu). The children are treated like royalty! And the staff were incredibly friendly; in short, a wonderful family restaurant experience.

13/02/2026: I sat down at a table at the restaurant Le Canclaux, which I highly recommend. The welcome was warm, the food was magnificent, very well served, and the price was quite reasonable.

21/01/2026: If you're visiting Nantes and can only go to a few restaurants, this should be one of them. If you like steak, their onglet de boeuf is the best steak we've ever had, anywhere, of any kind -- I don't care what cut, or if it's slathered in foir gras -- their onglet is our favorite steak, and we don't know why. Everything we've ever tried there (and we go there often and like variety) has exceeded our expectations. Reservations are a must, because we're not the only ones who've discovered this place. Some places excel in either their starters or their desert, but here it's hard to have only one or the other. Their menu, which changes regularly, typically has 3-5 starters, 5-7 mains, and 3-5 deserts, so always a good variety, and always something new. We strongly recommend.
