Both times, the food was a real treat, something we hadn't expected in such a small town. Last time it was the set menu, and today it was fish. We're thrilled! 06/09/2026: This is, as its name suggests, Mr. Faure-Brac's bistro. You have to come for him, a true authority in his field (wine!), one of the world's leading experts, and incredibly kind and approachable. This bistro deserves 5 stars for that reason alone. Mr. Faure-Brac is often there, even though he's very busy with his various commitments. It's a gourmet bistro, without a Michelin star (but it doesn't seem to be aiming for one). Beyond the wine, the value for money is good, and the food is excellent. Wine lovers, don't miss it! And you might even have the chance to visit his cellar, which is richly stocked with prestigious bottles.

29/08/2026: Excellent! We drove 4 hours from Royan in traffic this Saturday just to eat here, and the rib steak was fantastic! The service was superb! We'll gladly come back.

26/08/2026: If you're craving a great rib-eye steak, perfectly cooked, at a fair price, this is the place to be. Add to that a very friendly and helpful host, as well as a waitress, and you'll enjoy an excellent meal. The meat is truly delicious, and they don't even ask you how you'd like it cooked: they do it themselves, and they make it perfect. Compliments. Highly recommended.

17/07/2026: A really great place we go to from time to time; we've never been disappointed. The fries are homemade, the bread isn't mass-produced, and the tomatoes (even though they're in season) were excellent. My favorite thing about it: a true vegetarian option for the kebab! 👌 Here, they don't just remove the meat; they offer a small pan of cooked vegetables included with the kebab! It's a real plus and much better than a bland wrap. A great inclusive initiative! We look forward to coming back.

12/08/2026: We arrived for a snack and were immediately stared at by a woman standing and chatting with the people at a nearby table. When we tried to go into the bar, she asked us what we wanted, and only then did I realize she was the waitress. 🙄 And still no greeting... I ordered a coffee that wasn't a large one and a juice that hadn't been opened! Never again!

01/10/2026: A very bad experience for my 30th birthday celebration. I had initially booked the barge for my birthday. A few days before the event, the event manager informed me that it had to be closed due to a technical problem and offered me another venue within the group, assuring me that I would be very well received and that there would be plenty of vegetarian options. I accepted this last-minute change and kept the same budget, despite the less comprehensive service. Once there, nothing went as promised: the starter consisted mainly of salmon, there were no real vegetarian options on the menu, and then a plate of pasta with vegetables prepared especially for me… which I had to send back because it was spoiled. For a birthday, and given that my dietary requirements had been communicated in advance, this was particularly disappointing. A gesture of goodwill in the form of champagne had also been promised to compensate for the change of venue. It was never offered. It was only after I personally contacted the event manager that I learned his management had ultimately refused. He didn't attempt to contact me or offer any alternative after this refusal. Finally, I learned that same evening that the barge I had initially booked wasn't closed due to a technical issue, as I had been told, but was actually open and reserved for another event. This lack of transparency adds further disappointment to an already poorly managed evening. Beyond the various problems encountered, it's primarily the gap between the commitments made beforehand and the reality on the ground that I find most regrettable. I chose to use a professional precisely to avoid having to deal with these kinds of problems on the evening of my 30th birthday. Unfortunately, I will retain very negative memories of this experience.
