16/08/2026: We ate very well at various restaurants in the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel, but La Chaumière d'Hirel was our favorite. Everything was excellent: the savory and generously filled galettes, the delicious and very thin crêpes, and the mussels with chorizo! Great value for money! Friendly and efficient staff. We highly recommend this restaurant if you visit this magnificent bay.

30/07/2026: I don't usually write food reviews, but at this level of cuisine, it becomes a civic duty. The dish served is indescribable. It should, at first glance, be a bed of hummus seasoned with Espelette peppers, topped with stuffed eggplant and soft-boiled eggs. The reality is even more surprising, as it appears to be a run-of-the-mill supermarket béarnaise sauce, crowned by three thin slices of breaded eggplant peelings. As for the egg, more soft than cooked, it sits enthroned in the center of this disaster. It's utterly inedible, and the waitress clearly doesn't understand it... run away!

24/07/2026: The place has that old-fashioned brewery feel, and we loved it! The dishes were perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. In this heat, the tomato soup was ideal. The only downside was the young brunette waitress who completely ignored us when we were waiting for a table. Then, when we told her we preferred to be inside rather than outside, she looked at her colleague as if to say we were bothering her terribly (we almost left at that point). She was so rude that we didn't dare ask her for anything ;) Luckily, her very friendly colleague then took care of us :)

31/07/2026: Great restaurant where all the dishes are homemade, with a particular favorite being the beef tartare, which is excellent. And always a very warm welcome. A lovely spot where it's pleasant to have lunch on the terrace in winter or in the shade of the large tree in summer. Reservations recommended.

20/07/2026: Le Joyeux Retour des Pêcheurs is a restaurant I highly recommend. We keep going back for the pleasant atmosphere, the setting, and the warm welcome worthy of the best local pubs. They offer a selection of homemade dishes in generous portions. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted by the owners and their young, attentive team. Their Welsh rarebit is flawless in my opinion. The Maroilles cheese burgers delighted our teenagers' voracious appetites. Homemade fries and delicious sauces. It doesn't take much effort to finish everything! The desserts will seal the deal or leave you completely satisfied. This must be our third or fourth visit, so it was time to leave a note to encourage this team. Thank you, and see you soon!

12/08/2026: Since the restaurant changed its name, we wanted to give it another chance, having been disappointed twice by the previous establishment. Unfortunately, we were disappointed again. The truffle pasta was not good at all, the Lyonnaise salad wasn't made with frisée lettuce even though the menu clearly stated it would be, and the salmon was dry… On the other hand, the perfect egg and the burrata were incredible! The service was also quite disappointing. However, I must commend the kindness and, above all, the great politeness of a young man who even apologized for his colleague's unpleasant behavior.

The atmosphere is pleasant, with a nice mix of colors and materials, and interesting paintings on the walls. The owner is very kind and helpful. Excellent food, not too elaborate, well-presented, and authentic flavors. High quality/price ratio: €134 for 4 (€33.50 per person) with an entree and main course. Highly recommended for those who don't like touristy or overly refined fare!
