22/08/2024: Today, I went to the hostel with my parents. It was a birthday present for my mother. Very welcoming staff, top cuisine 👍👍👍. I even asked to recook the duck breast and no problem. We ate very well, it was plentiful. We took the menu for 32 euros, the quantity and the cuisine justify it 👌👌

30/09/2024: I was treated very badly in this restaurant. The waiter shouted at me and my friends, he didn't want to serve us, he was rude and aggressive. We waited a long time for a table, the waiter was checking us out, so we went to check another restaurant, all the tables were occupied there. We came to La Cercle again. A group of four guests finished dinner and left, so me and three friends sat down. The waiter we asked was outraged and started shouting at us. He was a young man, not tall, he had a small black beard. We have never been treated so badly anywhere in the world. We left this restaurant, I don't recommend this place to anyone. 13/11/2024: I made a reservation for a group of 19 people on Saturday for lunch. Everything was perfect. The dishes are excellent, the service efficient with lots of attention so that everyone can be satisfied. Everything is homemade and the restaurant is well located in the city. Thanks to Christophe, the boss and his son for his kindness and responsiveness. I recommend 100%.

25/01/2025: First time we have come to this restaurant. Well, thank you for the pass time. We had a very good evening, pleasant staff, excellent service time and the dishes were very good, nicely presented, right down to the little flower on the crème brûlée and plentiful. We will come back without hesitation.

30/09/2025: To follow up on my review of your 1.50€ baguette, check out the reviews of the bakery "Les 3 petits pains" in Moulins, I bought an excellent 1€ baguette there today...so there are some who know how to make it!

21/09/2025: Spending a week in Saint Paulien, we visited this bakery several times. The staff was very pleasant and friendly, and above all, they offered excellent products, whether it was the bread, the pastries, the generous sandwiches at €3.70 🤩, the pizzas, the quiches, the puff pastries, the delicious Ruessien, and the formidable autumn tart. A highly recommended establishment.

23/06/2025: A very pleasant surprise at this restaurant with its shaded terrace overlooking the Vézère River. The full menu costs less than €17, and is generous and delicious. The melting potatoes are a real treat. The service is fast and efficient.

14/06/2025: We thoroughly enjoyed the €29 menu. The service was very attentive, the four courses arrived at a suitable pace, and were very good. The chef greeted us very warmly. For soup, we had garlic soup (Tourrain blanchi) with croutons, then we had duck liver on toast (Foie Gras a canard maison), a wonderful salad with walnuts, and pulled duck (Salade de confit éffilé), which was sumptuous. For the main course, we had duck breast (Magret de Canard) or beef steak (Pavé de boeuf) with green beans (Haricot vert), a sauce of our choice, and sautéed fries. The meat was cooked to perfection, juicy, and delicious. (The potatoes were the only dish that was simply not good; they weren't freshly made, but rather mushy and watery. Fries would have been better.) For the fourth course, we had the local goat cheese Cabécou with honey on toast on a bed of lettuce – heavenly! ``` The terrace is beautifully situated above the Vésére River and is covered with sails and vines. The tip from the very friendly Elodie at the tourist information office was very good! Be sure to make a reservation on weekends!

22/08/2024: Very pleasant, very friendly waiters who listen to you when you ask. Very generous quantity and good quality (many homemade). Modern and pretty interior and exterior. Very calm atmosphere. I highly recommend!!!

03/01/2026: We came for the beef, but they're bothered by the fact that they cook it to the customer's liking; they think it takes too long, even though we're on vacation and have the time. Two rooms, two different atmospheres, unfortunately, the service isn't the same for all customers. Strangely enough, once you spend money, the smiles appear! The fondue was good but cloyingly salty by the end. You need to reserve a table to get a good one, otherwise you're in a draft and right in the middle of the servers' walkways.

20/08/2025: This is the best place in the valley, attentive and passionate service as ever - we would all like to keep this as our own secret - but it’s out there now!! The whole menu is great!!
