13/08/2026: Passing through traffic after many jams, we were hungry and didn't want to spend ages searching for a place to eat, and here online reservations were possible (very helpful with my terrible French). At first, I thought: oh dear, a truck stop... BUT: the food there is really delicious and freshly prepared. They have a daily menu, the service is super friendly, and we were served quickly. I would definitely stop there again :)

12/08/2026: It's a truck stop with a large parking area for trucks and cars. The management and staff are here to serve you; smiles, politeness, and courtesy are the watchwords. The menus are simple and family-style, with a set lunch menu available Monday to Friday for €19-20, including coffee.

11/07/2026: Very rude owner who also serving you COMPLETELY black burned bread and think it’s okay to eat it with food. Your opinion about wine is not valid, you are wrong/defected and only he is right. Gaslighting? After he openly insulted me I have strong negative emotions about this place even if they have nice wine.

06/08/2026: A wonderful discovery! This restaurant is located right in the heart of the small square in Tourette-sur-Loup. The welcome was very friendly, and the food was delicious. The reimagined zucchini dish was delightful. Definitely worth a visit! 👌

06/05/2026: We only had two beers, but the welcome and service were excellent, and I think it was the best view from a restroom I've ever seen. One thing is for sure: we'll be back to eat there. And we have. We ate there this winter in February and have no regrets. It was very good and plentiful, and the service was friendly despite the crowd. We'll definitely go back.

14/03/2026: My first time at this restaurant tonight. The buffet idea for the starters and cheese for dessert was superb. With only three dishes on the menu, you're guaranteed a completely homemade, original meal made with local ingredients. What a delight... and such a warm welcome, thank you so much! 😍 (I usually take great photos of the presentation, but I might have been too impatient to try everything!)

12/02/2026: Always a perfect experience... A warm and relaxed atmosphere, a consistently pleasant welcome, and the food is simply divine... very affordable meals, which is a real plus!! A very varied and excellent menu. Simplicity and efficiency, thanks to the fantastic work of the managers... I highly recommend it!!! It's quickly becoming my go-to spot, a real gem in the area 🤩😍

16/08/2026: We came for dinner on July 31st. The village is very pretty, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. However, the crêpes weren't fluffy; they were dry. Two were very thin with butter, and the other two were like cardboard!

28/04/2026: Good value for money, very friendly waitress, however the waiter didn't seem happy to be working... he barely said hello and we got the impression we were bothering him.

28/04/2026: We were greeted by a rather unpleasant gentleman, but luckily our waitress was there to improve the restaurant's rating. We had the same thought with other customers. If he's not happy to come to work, he should stay home. Thank you to the young woman who was very pleasant, helpful, and always smiling. The meal itself was very good.

24/06/2026: As always, Ninkasi is a good restaurant/bar. Their food is good. The lemonade is delicious. The two waitresses were overwhelmed, and it showed in the service. They had to run around everywhere. My best wishes to them. As for the atmosphere, I was pressed against the wall by the table, and the table of twelve people in the middle of a not-so-large room was extremely noisy. I lowered my rating for this aspect, but if you're a group of friends looking for good beer and/or other drinks, I recommend the chain 100%.

21/07/2026: Today, Tuesday, July 21st, we called and reserved a table for 12:00/12:15. We arrived on time at 12:10. The welcome was rather cold; the young man seated us at a table at 12:15. Many people arrived after us. We had to wait 30 minutes just to get the drinks menu... Meanwhile, the table next to us, a couple of tourists (with a child and a grandmother) who arrived 15 minutes after us, were served before us... We then had to wait another 30 minutes (after they handed us the menu) to take our order, and another 10 minutes for the house aperitif (served without any snacks)... The appetizers didn't arrive until 1:45 PM, and the main courses until 2:45 PM... As for dessert, we had to ask several times before finally being served at 3:20 PM... We finished our meal at 3:30 PM, having arrived at 12:15 PM... Truly unprofessional... The staff was very cold the entire time (the terrace manager and the head waiter) and offered no apology for the 3 hours and 15 minutes of service! The meal was good, but the portions of the appetizers were tiny: salad (four leaves) without dressing, cured ham, and only four small cubes of melon... And we had to ask for bread ten times before finally getting some defrosted bread! So, in conclusion, if you want to eat at the Auberge Croix Messire Jean in Uchon, don't be in a hurry or expecting much... No smiles and a long wait. The staff isn't organized when it's busy. A shame.
