23/09/2026: We had just finished a stroll around Île Saint-Louis and were walking up Rue Saint-Louis-en-l'Île towards Notre-Dame. This street is bisected by Rue des Deux Ponts, which marks the boundary between tranquility and tourist frenzy. We spotted a completely empty restaurant (at 12:30 pm) whose menu looked tempting and whose decor we also liked. So we sat down, greeted by a smiling hostess. A quick glance at the reviews promised a revelation. So, there was no reason to hesitate. The restaurant's decor is charming, a blend of modern and traditional styles, with a nod to Parisian cinema. The tables are beautifully set with proper tablecloths. The set menus are between 30 and 40 euros. Quite reasonable. The dishes are original, even ambitious. The dishes arrive, beautifully presented. We are about to be amazed. I started with a bone marrow dish that contained far more bone than marrow. Bad luck, but the chef wasn't exactly in the know... Then came the main courses. My duck breast was noticeably overcooked, even though it had been ordered pink. The fish was also slightly undercooked. The vegetables, which everyone received were the same, were cooked well and crisp. Not bad... The desserts—a cream for me, ice cream for my wife—were good, but served without a biscuit or any presentation. So, what can I say? It wasn't exactly a revelation, but for the price, it was decent. It could definitely be better with a little more effort. Would I go back, a well-known food critic wondered? Not sure, considering the numerous restaurants lining this street beyond Rue des Deux Ponts.

24/05/2026: Why am I so enthusiastic? I spent the Pentecost weekend (Saturday and Sunday) at this establishment located on the banks of the Vendée River. If you love nature, you'll be delighted by this completely natural and unspoiled environment, listening to the birdsong: wood pigeons, domestic pigeons, golden orioles—that rare migratory bird with its distinctive call—and the countless frogs croaking in unison until the end of the night. The welcome was warm and empathetic, the room and its adjoining rooms offered simple comfort but were remarkably clean and furnished with very comfortable furniture. The food was outstanding; the dishes weren't sophisticated but were well-prepared and delicious. The appetizers are fantastic. The wines: excellent choices at very reasonable prices. The service, assisted by apprentices from the hotel school, is impeccable, presenting the dishes with the academic flair of a Michelin-starred restaurant, though with occasional minor imperfections that bring a smile to the face of a seasoned diner who, without any hint of malice, shares his experience with them, demonstrating the pedagogical skill befitting these dedicated young women who could be...his grandchildren. In conclusion: an establishment worth discovering, and "quality/price"? Nowhere else...👏👏

09/09/2026: Dish of the day at €12.90: a fish fillet, you could practically see through it... Cheap, but there was hardly anything on the plate! Poor quality desserts.

25/05/2026: Its my home every year when i am.at Camp Canjuers. And the restaurant is short of espectacular. Rooms are not huge, but enough . And the crew make you feel at home. I love La Bastide

20/05/2026: We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful family run inn on green landscaped grounds. Our comfortable room was nicely appointed and it overlooked the lawn with forest in the distance. The owner and their dog and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our dinner, in the Inn’s restaurant, was not only delicious, but elegant and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, making for a very pleasant evening. Our only disappointment was that we were only staying one night. We will return!!

17/09/2026: Disappointing experience, made worse by the owner’s response We arrived at 1:50 PM because Google showed the place as open until 3:30 PM, only to be told that food service had ended at 1:30 PM. Customers looking for somewhere to eat check opening hours online before arriving in places like google maps not information hidden in a menu they have not yet seen. If the bar is open until 3:30 PM but the restaurant stops serving at 1:30 PM, this should be clearly stated online. Otherwise, it is misleading. Instead of simply clarifying this, the owner responded with “it’s a shame you can’t read” and sarcastic comments about a “time difference issue.” That is unnecessarily rude and highly unprofessional. The owner’s response actually does more to justify my one-star rating than the original issue.

29/08/2026: Just passing through the area for a quick bite... and what a surprise! A really great place with a cool, rock 'n' roll vibe! The owner is incredibly friendly! And their burgers are absolutely delicious!!! I highly recommend it!

19/09/2026: Lunch was fine, but a bit pricey and not very sophisticated. Then I ordered a large coffee (5.10) which didn't taste good either. A shame, I think tourists are being ripped off. Avoid it.

06/09/2026: A wonderful surprise for my birthday. It was a complete change of scenery... I felt like I was in Tahiti for a few hours. A warm welcome and a superb atmosphere with very pretty, smiling dancers, not forgetting the male dancer. I'd love to experience it again.
