22/08/2026: With my wife and two friends, we had an exquisite dinner at the restaurant "Le Pont Saint Étienne." Delicious dishes, a simple yet elegant setting, and smiling, attentive staff who were very present but discreet. A truly wonderful time, enhanced by a breathtaking view overlooking the Vienne River and the medieval Saint Étienne bridge… Yes, a peacefully exquisite evening.

17/08/2026: Discovered on the recommendation of locals, this is a great place to keep in mind for future visits. The staff is welcoming and has a great sense of humor. The concept of all-you-can-eat crepes, either made to order or based on suggestions, is fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will gladly return.

17/07/2026: We just had dinner at Forget and we had a wonderful evening. The perfect egg in brioche with Cantal cheese and morel sauce, the duck breast, and the warm walnut soufflé... How can I even begin to describe how I'd happily get up in the middle of the night to eat it? A huge thank you to the people who work so hard to please us. So if you want to have a great evening, don't hesitate to step inside Forget on Rue de Paris in Brive-la-Gaillarde.

02/07/2026: First visit to this restaurant. The owner greeted us at the entrance with a broad smile and showed us to our table. The setting is authentic and pleasant. The server brought us the menu, also with the same friendly manner. We learned that she was the owner's daughter, so it must be in their genes, or perhaps these people are in this profession out of passion. We ordered our aperitifs and main courses, and everything flowed smoothly without any waiting or rushing. We were offered a small glass of wine with our aperitifs. The owner came to our table during dessert to ask how we were doing and chat about this and that. It was lovely because we didn't feel like just a walking wallet. As for the dishes and the presentation, they were perfect—bravo to the chef! Upon leaving, the same ritual: she escorted us to the door with a smile and said, "Thank you, see you soon." I only have one thing to say: those who haven't been, go and discover it, and I will be back as soon as I return to the north. Yes, we're from the South, but born and bred in the North. Congratulations and thank you again to those who keep this open-air café going.

30/05/2026: The setting is very pleasant, as is the service, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The menu is original and refined, featuring, for example, a good amount of fruit (strawberries, mangoes, etc.) in the savory dishes, but of course, there are also much more conventional options. The prices are admittedly a bit higher than those of a typical brasserie, but the quality of the food more than justifies the difference!

30/07/2026: Tourist trap food. The beef tartare was a frozen portion. The goat cheese salad (bagged salad, supermarket baguette, the goat cheese was actually a log made from cow's milk). The mussels were undercooked and the sauce was very bland. The desserts. The apple tart, red berry bavarois, and chocolate fondant were frozen.

29/07/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant as a family: two adults and two children, one of whom was a toddler. The waitress, Chloé, was incredibly efficient and always smiling throughout the meal, despite the busy schedule. The food was delicious, and the terrace is lovely.

24/07/2026: "Secret" tip - a normal pub in the area, where there is either nothing or significantly more expensive establishments. Food and service are great, the staff made up of local regulars adds to the atmosphere. Only us tourists.

22/07/2026: The pizzas are good... The place is nice. What's a shame is the atmosphere during service; they drag the chairs and tables around, creating a lot of noise, and they set down the cutlery and plates like in a roadside diner... A pity...
