06/04/2026: "We're going to eat at Aunt Isabelle's": it's not a restaurant, it's... a real family home, with home cooking like in the old days. Warmth and genuine hospitality, no frills (especially not for pretentious types), real homemade foie gras, homemade duck confit, and homemade desserts... Everything is unpretentious and you leave with a full stomach of simple, delicious food. You sit down on the chairs among the daisies to digest... after a little sip of "44" (a local beer). It's at Aunt Isabelle's! 👍

25/05/2026: A pleasant spot in a side street. The beers are served at the perfect temperature, but the fries could have been a little crispier; they were too soft and greasy.

25/05/2026: This place is cute enough - on the outskirts of the bustling Rue Montergueil, but I tell you what - service was rough, and the food was so bad. The fish soup was like a fish curry and was drastically over-reduced so it was simultaneously too potent in flavor and somehow under salted? It was not ideal. Pate and the cheese on the plate was all underwhelming and cheap, and so was the tomatoes/burrata. Unripened tomatoes and no seasoning. I expect that in like the US, but Paris usually always has higher standards. Always surprised when I hit on bad food in Paris

23/05/2026: I eat lunch there every time I'm in Romans. I love the setting, the atmosphere, and the food. For me, it's one of those places that embodies French culture. Simple and delicious food. The service is always excellent. It's also a lovely spot for an aperitif on Friday evenings. Unfortunately, places like this are becoming increasingly rare. Thank you!

01/05/2026: Delicious homemade pizza. Tried the napolitaine (anchovy/olive), the capricieuse (ham/olive), and Caesar salad. Cute small local place. Owner doesn’t speak English but delivered perfectly on the food and cold beer.

30/04/2026: Absolutely adore this place. We happened across it by chance but came back to eat 3 times. The food is SO GOOD. Fresh, delicious, just on point homestyle cooking. Warm and filling without feeling heavy, and flavors were incredible. I think this is the peak of French cooking. Would really recommend the local dishes here. We tried multiple things over the three times we came, and everything we got was amazing. Also the owner is so kind and patient even with our lack of French. No other restaurant (including the fine dining) we tried here lived up to the standard set by D’Aqui d’Aia. We were joking that we were going to call the Michelin guide people. Truly this place is a gem. We will be coming back any time we are in Nice.

17/05/2026: Manon and the entire team at Le Rempart are revolutionizing hospitality in the Bastille area! The place is beautifully presented, the food is excellent, and the service is always friendly! A truly lovely spot, just the way we like it!

15/05/2026: Had a delicious meal last night! I had a steak with peppercorn sauce, fries, and salad, and it tasted wonderful. Afterwards, I had a crème brûlée, which was tasty too. Even though we hadn't made a reservation and it was busy, we were still able to get a nice table for an hour. The service was good.

08/05/2026: What a shame, this beautiful restaurant isn't what it used to be. The meal was mediocre, and the service was no longer up to par—served from the left, nothing on the table, not even a placemat, and the staff seemed to be having a good time, etc. It's the restaurant where I proposed to my wife 25 years ago, and we loved returning every year, but we were truly shocked by such a change. It used to have a Michelin star, but that's no longer the case. It's such a shame; year after year we've noticed a decline in quality, but this time it's too much. You replied that you couldn't find any reviews on my profile because I don't usually leave them. My in-laws always make the reservations, but we won't be going back. We expressed our dissatisfaction in person, and we must have passed it on to you.

14/04/2026: This is the kind of place you want to keep secret… we arrived late Monday afternoon… all the restaurants in the village were closed, but the owners had prepared a meal for us! And what a meal it was! So many delicious ingredients, and a warm, family atmosphere that we absolutely loved! We'll be back in peak season to enjoy the terrace under the lanterns and the festive, musical ambiance. A huge thank you to Georges and Nadège for their warm welcome!

08/04/2026: We wanted to reserve a table for 8:00 PM during the Easter holidays. A perfectly reasonable time. But we were refused because, and I quote, "too late, we only have a reservation at 7:00 PM, we don't want to stay open for your table." Not very customer-friendly. Move to England if you want to offer service from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.

17/03/2026: A really nice place to relax. Excellent Valrhona hot chocolate, top quality. Excellent homemade blueberry lemonade. We love it, but we only go when it's really quiet for an afternoon snack!

15/04/2026: We went as a group of four. The waiter's friendliness couldn't compensate for the kitchen problems. It took 20 minutes between the first and fourth people being served. The food was average. And to top it all off, our coffee arrived cold.

18/05/2026: Scoop was recommended to us because we were going to Laurent Voulzy's concert ❤️ at the Barrière casino, which is right across the street. The service was efficient, impeccable, and friendly. The food was delicious and served in generous portions. They also have a room upstairs. It was just as busy before the concert as it was after. They're used to it; everything runs like clockwork. You can tell they're used to it! My only regret is not having ordered their strawberry Pavlova for dessert. We spent a little over €60: no aperitif, but we were offered a small verrine of beetroot, skate wing, and mashed potatoes, a ham and cheese crepe with fries and salad, one dessert (for me), speculoos tiramisu, a glass of white wine, a Monaco (apple brandy), and two café crèmes. We will gladly return because of its location, the dishes and prices offered, and the efficient service with a smile from beginning to end. Thank you! 👍 😉
