25/08/2026: A very pleasant place to relax, especially in summer when the terrace is set up in the square. They offer all types of beer, however, be aware that service is only available at the bar.

03/06/2026: La Casquette is a true neighborhood bar with a warm and relaxed atmosphere, typical of Lille. Its proximity to the pétanque courts adds something special to the place.

03/07/2026: Excellent lunch. Short and simple menu. Excellent food. We thoroughly enjoyed it. A little hidden behind the town hall renovation site, but not to be missed. We highly recommend it.

03/10/2026: I had a very bad experience at this establishment. I was asked to leave the bar, and I left feeling disappointed and confused. I was very displeased with how the situation was handled. An establishment should be able to handle this kind of situation with respect and professionalism. This experience left me with a very bad impression and I have absolutely no desire to return. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this establishment.

27/07/2026: We had a lovely stay at Mercure Marseille Centre Bompard La Corniche. The location is excellent, tucked away in a quiet residential neighbourhood that feels more like a charming French guesthouse than a typical city hotel. It’s a beautiful area to wander, with the Corniche and coastline just a short walk away, while the city centre is still easily accessible. The walk back to the hotel is quite steep, so keep that in mind, although an Uber is inexpensive and makes the return trip very easy. The hotel itself was very pleasant, with modern, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. That said, the overall experience didn’t quite feel like a four-star property. The in-room amenities were quite basic, with no separate shampoo or conditioner provided, which was especially noticeable after swimming in the Mediterranean, as the saltwater really leaves your hair needing both. It’s the first hotel I’ve stayed at where these weren’t offered. There was also no iron, slippers or robe, which made the experience feel a little less premium than expected. We also weren’t able to check in before the official 3:00 pm check-in time. That wasn’t an issue in itself, but it was a little confusing given the online pre-registration asks you to select your expected arrival time, including times earlier than 3:00 pm. Overall though, these were relatively minor points, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

12/09/2026: Discovered "by chance" in October 2025, we were immediately charmed by Johannes, the owner. The warmest bartender in all of Angers (perhaps even in the Pays de la Loire region, France, the world, and some would say the multiverse!), he knows his clientele inside and out and runs his establishment with a master's touch. Johannes' encyclopedic knowledge, whatever the subject, will leave you speechless, and he always has the right word at the right time to make you laugh, advise you, comfort you... in short, to make you feel right at home. It's a bit like the North of France: you cry (with laughter) when you arrive and you cry (with emotion) when you leave. We can't wait for our next visit, and don't hesitate—you'll always have a great time at the bar or on the terrace!

26/08/2026: We stumbled upon this place and spent part of our evening there with the regulars and the manager, all of whom were lovely! A great atmosphere and an excellent find in Angers.

15/08/2026: We just had dinner at this lovely restaurant. Our waitress was wonderful, very smiley, energetic, and incredibly pleasant, which is so rare these days. A thousand thanks to her! The meal was simply marvelous. A very nice restaurant. I highly recommend this establishment. We are the parents of Jeremy Canaveira.

13/08/2026: Understaffed terrace service and a 20-minute wait to pay. Two waitresses for over 50 covers. They are as red as tomatoes and constantly running.

30/08/2026: A very nice restaurant; for us, it was the beautifully decorated patio that stood out. The food and service were excellent, and reservations are highly recommended. The prices are reasonable.
