16/05/2026: I don't usually leave reviews, but I was quite disappointed with our stay. My partner and I are used to staying in high-end hotels (especially these past few months as we've been looking for an exceptional venue for our wedding), and unfortunately, a few things let us down: - We couldn't get a table at the restaurant in the evening. We hadn't been informed in advance that a reservation was required, nor that the restaurant was already full. We found out around 7 p.m., and the reception staff seemed rather cold (the receptionist offered no help and was quite unfriendly). We therefore had to urgently find a restaurant open on a public holiday, even though we had planned to stay on the property. - There was no refrigerator in the room, and only one bottle of water was provided. These are small details, but in this type of establishment, they make a difference. - No help with luggage, which is quite surprising for a 4-star hotel (we were used to always having a valet at other establishments of the same type). Overall: the castle itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, we expected a certain level of comfort that we didn't find (in terms of service, staff shortages, attention to detail, etc.).

26/05/2026: Absolutely recommend this restaurant! The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, and the service was warm and friendly. I ordered the duck breast with honey sauce and roasted potatoes, and it was excellent. The duck was cooked perfectly — crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with no gamey taste at all. The honey sauce added a subtle sweetness that worked really well with the rich flavor of the meat. The fries were thick-cut, crispy outside and soft inside, just the way good French fries should be.

21/02/2026: The crepes were half burnt. I asked for takeout and they were served on a piece of paper. In short, a ruined dessert. What a shame, the rest of the meal was okay. Honestly, they really need to improve; it's truly shameful.

18/02/2026: I wanted to congratulate the Flunch team. We arrived early, at 11:30 am, because we had an appointment afterward. The whole team was fantastic: those setting up the food, the cashier, the meat cooks, the ice cream maker... truly exceptional politeness, kindness, and smiles to boot. It's true it was the beginning of service, but it was a real pleasure. Thank you, keep up the good work! 👏🏻

22/04/2026: I chose a hamburger. The bun was dry and very bland. The deli meat was served but I didn't eat it because it had an unusual taste, and the sauce tasted like a store-bought one. The fries were advertised as homemade, but they didn't taste like potatoes at all. The ice cream for dessert was full of frost and iced bits. The quality of the food was lacking. Overall, I was quite disappointed despite the quick and friendly service.

30/05/2026: The hotel has its own unique charm, definitely good for a three-star hotel, except for the extremely squeaky room doors. The neighbors always know when you come and go. And it takes an incredibly long time for the hot water to come through, but that's really nitpicking :-) The area is fantastic for hikers and explorers; there's nothing going on for city dwellers. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant; it's difficult to get a table without a reservation, and the chef is simply superb! Breakfast was also available as an extra and very good; nothing was lacking!

08/07/2026: Very pleasant and attentive staff. Quick service. Varied menu. Prices a bit high for what it is... Expect to pay €17 per pizza. But if you're in a pinch, it does the trick!

14/03/2026: Went in to order five different Pizzas about 6-30pm for take-away. Very helpful and friendly. All ready in a short amount of time. All very tasty with a good amount of toppings.

21/04/2026: Overnight stay at the Hôtel de la Gare (Lacour) Where the room is perfectly adequate for a few nights, the evening meal is a delight, featuring simple ingredients prepared with taste and skill... The staff is pleasant and helpful. Excellent value for money.

14/04/2026: I had a very pleasant (too short) stay. The welcome was charming, the room very clean, spacious, and quiet with a balcony overlooking the garden. I had the pleasure of dining at the hotel restaurant: Châteauroux trout with butter and toasted slivered almonds, served with braised seasonal vegetables – a delight! I highly recommend this establishment and can't wait to return soon! Thank you for this rejuvenating break.

21/07/2026: I can't comment on the quality of the food, as my mother and I received very poor service. Ignored upon arrival, we were eventually seated after a few minutes. We then waited for what seemed like an eternity before receiving a menu. Finally, the waiter on duty that day slapped the menu on us (somewhere between slapping and throwing it away) without a glance or a word. At that point, we left thoroughly disappointed.

18/07/2026: As a long-time customer, I suffered food poisoning from an omelet prepared by the brasserie's cooks. We contacted the establishment to inform them and, more importantly, to ask them to check the quality of the eggs. Unfortunately, one of the managers brushed us off, claiming they made omelets every day and that there were no problems with customers. We called simply to inform them, and this is how they treat loyal customers. I will no longer recommend this brasserie and will never return, as I'm not asking for a goodwill gesture, just respect! Absolutely avoid this place, given how customers are treated when there's a problem.
