The prices are reasonable, the restaurant is charming, but above all, the service is outstanding: the way the two women manage to serve the nearly full restaurant – quickly, courteously, and competently – is simply in a class of its own. Therefore: Highly recommended!

23/09/2026: Hello to the Strasbourg gastronomic community, We decided to stop for a meal at this brasserie near the observatory, on Rue Kirstein in Strasbourg. We ordered chicken escalopes in a cream sauce. That's what we were expecting! But in reality, we received reconstituted and shredded pieces of meat that were truly awful. Apparently, the cook—if he even calls himself a cook!—should learn how to cut meat properly, and especially make an effort with the presentation (on the plate), because it's truly shameful to serve poorly trimmed pieces of meat when we were expecting a whole chicken escalope! We do not recommend this establishment. It's a real shame because the service is decent and the setting is unique.

I go there regularly with a friend, and it’s also our favorite place for lunch with colleagues when we want to take the time to get together over a good meal. The menu offers a varied selection, and the dishes are always delicious. A special mention goes to the daily lunch special: a generous, well-filled, and flavorful plate at a very reasonable price. It’s an excellent option for a tasty lunch without breaking the bank. The service is quick, friendly, and efficient, which is especially appreciated during lunchtime.

The service was provided by staff who were very attentive to our well-being, and the meal was delicious, featuring regional products cooked with finesse. A must-visit gastronomic experience in Guer.

It was an absolutely fabulous culinary experience from beginning to end, masterfully orchestrated by the talented chef Baptiste Denieul and his team. An elegant and welcoming setting From the moment you step through the door, you are enveloped in an atmosphere that is at once contemporary, intimate, and profoundly warm. The decor is refined and minimalist, perfectly showcasing the dishes without ever distracting from them. You immediately feel privileged. Top-notch cuisine On the plate, it's a veritable festival of flavors and emotions. The chef elevates the Breton terroir with rare creativity and audacity. Each dish is a visual work of art, where the precision of the cooking rivals the perfect balance of seasonings. The interplay of textures, the surprising combinations (including magnificent surf-and-turf pairings), and the exceptional quality of the local produce all testify to a very high level of expertise. It's refined, delicate, and incredibly delicious. Impeccable service The excellence of the cuisine is perfectly complemented by exemplary service. The team is professional, friendly, and attentive without ever being stuffy. The explanations provided for each dish demonstrate a genuine passion and a love of sharing. 18/09/2026: A truly wonderful gastronomic experience, with one small drawback worth mentioning. L'Initial more than lives up to its reputation: refined cuisine, high-quality ingredients, perfectly executed cooking, and attentive service. Each dish demonstrates genuine expertise, with a beautiful balance between technical precision and gustatory pleasure. The setting is elegant, calm, and conducive to a delightful gastronomic experience. I particularly appreciated the finesse of the dishes as well as the judiciously chosen wine pairings. My only regret concerns an aspect that, in my opinion, should leave no room for error in an establishment of this caliber: the cleanliness of some of the cutlery. One spoon had what looked like a lipstick stain, and the knives served with the meat dish had visible dirt between the blade and the handle. Nothing dramatic, but surprising enough to be noted. This is all the more regrettable as everything else borders on excellence. Let's just say the flavors were impeccably polished, but a few of the dishes were a little less so! Despite this minor flaw that prevents it from earning five stars, I still remember a very enjoyable meal and a restaurant I would gladly recommend.

14/09/2026: I loved this restaurant! I'm an interpreter and I regularly accompany Japanese people from Japan—expatriates, their spouses, and tourists. They often ask me, "Where can we eat good French food in Paris?" Today, I would answer them without hesitation: L'Initial! Gourmet and refined French cuisine, with great finesse, at a very reasonable price. A wonderful discovery that I highly recommend!

02/07/2026: Overall, a very good experience. The meat was of excellent quality, tender, melt-in-your-mouth, and perfectly cooked. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. The Provençal-style vegetables were also well prepared, although I didn't particularly care for the barbecue/merguez sauce that accompanied them—a matter of personal taste. Special mention goes to the dessert, which was excellent and the perfect ending to the meal. The service was pleasant, and the whole experience makes me want to return to try other dishes on the menu.

01/08/2026: Ordered 3 pizzas and a burger by phone, we could pick it up at around 9. Pizzas were really good, and so was the burger. Definitely worth your money. Staff was also very nice.
