08/06/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance one stormy evening. The staff were friendly, but the service was incredibly slow… we ordered 5 minutes after being seated… and were served after 55 minutes. The food was good, but not extraordinary. My fish wasn't cooked enough, but given how long we waited, I didn't ask for it to be sent back. A bit pricey for what it is. Yes, it's filling, yes, the atmosphere is pleasant, a cozy cottage feel, yes, the dishes seem a bit gourmet, but don't go if you're in a hurry. Very few vegetarian options. €95 for 2 without drinks.

05/08/2026: We were able to dine at this restaurant without a reservation and we absolutely don't regret it. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and discovering the grilled mussels was simply divine. Thank you to the chef for letting us taste them before ordering. The music was so catchy it was good, it'll get everyone singing along. And as a bonus, we were lucky enough to see a red moon.

29/07/2026: We went solely to see the comedians. I found the venue extremely small considering the number of people there, and the heat was unbearable. The six comedians were quite good.

24/07/2026: Mystery menu: if you don't know what you want, it's a surprise with every course! What a great idea! Freshness and quality of the ingredients, perfect cooking of the meat (it was veal) and vegetables, and original sauces!

04/08/2026: The future is bright! Having been a regular at this restaurant since I was little, I'm delighted that it's been so well taken over. The dishes are delicious and generous. The flavors and seasonings are fantastic! Ceviche, traditional Faena, and pastis French toast... we left completely won over once again.

25/07/2026: The waitresses were really unpleasant. We felt like we were bothering them. We waited a long time for our food and other items. We had to ask several times. I don't recommend it.

17/07/2026: A wonderful discovery! A warm welcome, generous portions, and perfectly cooked rib-eye steaks. I highly recommend the homemade gazpacho—it's amazing. The chef even comes to the dining room to chat with the customers. It was so good that we'll be back tomorrow.

30/06/2026: A terrible experience at Léon restaurant this lunchtime. At first, everything seemed fine; we were allowed to choose our table. But then it was a disaster from beginning to end. In the middle of a heatwave, we waited over 30 minutes just for a carafe of water and for someone to take our order, even though the restaurant was practically empty. The service was extremely unprofessional. The waitress brought my friend a Coke with a glass, ice cubes, and a lemon, while my Orangina arrived without a glass. When I asked for a glass, she replied, "Do you want one too?" which seemed perfectly normal. What's more, she had forgotten to open the bottle and had to come back later. Then there was an even longer wait between each course. As for the food, the mussels were okay, but the fries were clearly mass-produced and of poor quality. My friend initially wanted a rare hamburger, but the waitress told her that wasn't possible. She then asked for her fish to be cooked rare, and the waitress replied, “I’ll try to do it.” At that point, we quickly realized it was going to be difficult, so my friend changed her mind and ordered fish and chips. But there again, it was a huge disappointment: the fish was so soaked in oil that it was literally dripping. My friend could barely eat it. When the waitress came to clear the table and asked if “everything was alright,” we explained the problem. Her response was, “Yes, but it’s deep-fried, it’s normal to have oil.” A frankly unacceptable reaction instead of acknowledging the problem. To compensate, a Coke was offered, but honestly, it didn’t make up for the overall experience. The waitress remained unpleasant and unfriendly throughout the meal, with a curt tone, and even ended up bumping into me as she left. Between the interminable wait, the lack of professionalism, the poor quality of the food, and the attitude of the service, this lunch was a huge disappointment. We will not be returning.

19/05/2026: Good experience at the Alsatian Tavern: I had a very good meal; the tarte flambée was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The servers were also friendly and the service pleasant. You can tell it's a very popular tourist spot. The only real downside (for me) is the lack of space between the tables; they're really very close together (20cm apart). So you have to like fairly cramped places. Personally, it's not really the kind of atmosphere I enjoy. But it's still a good place to eat a good tarte flambée in Gérardmer 😊
