25/10/2025: Le Pèr’Gras is one of those Grenoble institutions where you enter with enthusiasm, almost fervor, convinced you're experiencing a suspended moment, an exceptional moment worthy of its history. The warm and sincere welcome maintains this promise for a while. The illusion works, like a first-year soufflé: we applaud the goodwill, we forgive the clumsiness... until everything collapses on the plate. To accompany the aperitif, some sausage and cheese rolls. A disconcertingly simple appetizer, suggesting that here, tradition flirts dangerously with the cafeteria. At this rate, next time, I'll book a restaurant at a gastronomic restaurant to enjoy some Pringles: at least it would be perfectly in line with the current inflation rate. The room, quickly overtaken by the hubbub, makes the charm of the first few minutes vanish. The service, friendly but clearly lost in the menu, struggles to answer even the simplest questions: the composition of a dish, the ingredients in a mocktail, the origin of the products. As the hesitations mount, doubt sets in. As for whether the mocktails are made from local produce, no one can say, not even the server, visibly as intrigued as his customers. The dishes arrive unpresented. No announcement, no explanation, as if mystery were meant to replace rigor. But the surprise here isn't tinged with magic. It simply denotes a certain laxity, hardly in keeping with the codes of a restaurant claiming to be gourmet. Faced with food intolerances, particularly lactose, one would have hoped for more attention, even a hint of creativity. Instead of the unsuitable dessert, two modest pieces of cheese, accompanied by wilted grapes, served as an alternative. A makeshift solution, more resigned than inventive. The cuisine, finally, remains adequate, but lacks brilliance. It executes rather than expresses itself, and leaves the palate in a polished neutrality, far from the culinary emotion one expects from a restaurant of this reputation. Do you have to try the most expensive menu to be surprised? If the Harvest menu, at €49 per person, is already barely convincing, how can you be tempted by the Pèr'Gras menu at €73 or €78? The question is worth asking. Then there's the view, sumptuous, sovereign. A breathtaking panorama, which alone justifies the pilgrimage. But in this sublime setting, the meal lacks soul, as if the restaurant, strong in its past, had fallen asleep on its reputation. As it stands, a historic address which would benefit from rediscovering the rigor, precision and creativity that its name still evokes for so many Grenoble residents.

23/06/2025: Visiting with 10 friends, after booking, the service was rather slow, with many forgotten orders. We had finished our meal and 3 friends hadn't received theirs yet! After two complaints, the staff was strangely absent... the owner denied it so as not to have to make a goodwill gesture. Personally, I won't be coming back even though the food is very good. P.S.: The restrooms are in very poor condition.

19/01/2026: This is my second time visiting this wonderful place, and if I could, I would come back more often. The quality of the meat is excellent (I'm a butcher), the wood-fired cooking is perfectly executed, and the welcome and service are impeccable. I highly recommend it.

31/12/2025: Good restaurant, tasty food and pretty good value for money. The service was friendly. The only downside was that the hot appetizers were served before the cocktails! Otherwise, it was very good.

06/12/2025: I'm writing to revise the 5-star review I left three years ago. We were very disappointed with the dishes on the €40 set menu. Starter: seafood salad. The mussels and shrimp were completely tasteless. Main course: venison steak with porcini mushrooms. The meat was very tough and flavorless, to the point that we couldn't finish it. Another dish: scallop tartlet. The presentation and flavors were nowhere near what you'd expect from a menu at this price: it was more like a large puff pastry swimming in sauce. Our plates remained almost full, and the waitress, visibly embarrassed, even offered us containers to take home the leftovers. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

18/12/2025: Very warm welcome. The plates were very generous, and the waitress gave excellent advice for the children. No waste! She suggested a less expensive galette (savory buckwheat crepe) so the child could have dessert. 🍨 The chef was fantastic, well done! Little wait, the whole table was served at the same time, and the waitress was excellent. Fair price. We left with a roudoudou (a type of hard candy) and, for me, a violet candy, a childhood favorite. The welcome, the food, the service, the price—everything was top-notch. Well done! I highly recommend it.

30/11/2025: Contrary to some reviews I've read, the crepes are generously filled. They are well-made and very tasty. Bonus points for the service and atmosphere.

28/11/2025: Excellent service from Kevin! The crepe was crispy and tender with just the right amount of sugar. Fast service and a great price for the Galeries Lafayette area. I highly recommend it.

18/11/2025: The Chambellan hotel is a very pleasant haven of peace. The hotel is charming, the rooms are well-decorated and well-equipped, and the hotel is very well-maintained. The village is magnificent, with many castles and tourist attractions to visit nearby. We received a very warm welcome and excellent advice. I highly recommend a stay at the Chambellan.

02/07/2025: Stayed for two days. The room has a very good large balcony with a view, overlooking the lavender fields in front. There is a slight floral scent in the breeze. This resort is recommended for self-driving tours. There is no better hotel in Sault.

28/06/2025: Top! Beautiful location, with a view of the mont ventoux. Nice rooms and friendly staff. Delicious breakfast and dinner! Our dog was also welcome. We enjoyed it.

07/12/2025: A romantic getaway, nothing beats the seaside in November. Relax and recharge. The welcome is warm, the owner and staff are very friendly and attentive. Clean and pleasant, breakfast is served in a dining room, but you can also have it on the terrace. Breakfast is quite good. We very enjoyed our stay; we chose the sea-view room. It has a balcony where you can set up a table and chairs, with a view of the sea and the port. It's comfortable, with good bedding and quiet. You can hear the waves crashing in the evening when you open the window. The hotel is close to everything: shops, restaurants, the beach, and the ferry to cross the canal in the summer. I think I'll stop there. Come and discover this little gem at a reasonable price. Do it the old-fashioned way: call the hotel to check availability and rates. Enjoy your stay!
