A very friendly and warm welcome, a pleasant waitress, and an owner who takes excellent care of his customers, from the moment they arrive until dessert. The food is excellent, and the chef's personal touch delights our taste buds with every bite. In short, authentic French cuisine just the way we like it, all at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it, and we'll definitely be back!

20/04/2026: Special food, with lots of seaweed sauce. The foie gras and fish combination was quite unusual. The scallops with seaweed sauce were very distinctive. Cuisine for those who enjoy surf and turf combinations. The staff and setting were very pleasant and friendly.

18/04/2026: While the setting is worth the trip, the food is best avoided: foie gras more like the mousse of the same name, scallops second-rate? What were the radishes doing there, even if they're in season? The sea bream tartare was unremarkable. The lamb was nothing but skin and fat. A disaster, except for the dessert. And then there's the lukewarm rosé wine; we had to ask for ice. The bill was rather steep considering what was on the plate. Luckily, the service was decent. We won't be returning, even though previous experiences had tempted us to do so again. How can such a beautiful view be spoiled by such bland and unappetizing cuisine?

12/05/2026: Intrigued by the location, we stopped for an aperitif. We ordered the assortment of seafood spreads, which arrived with a small addition: a rather moldy mess in one of the jars. I pointed it out and brought it back. The waiter seemed almost surprised. They only replaced the jar I had shown, then calmly placed the other two on a new plate. No apology, no gesture, not even a hint of embarrassment. It was clear that here, tourists are just passing through and that respect for the customer and hygiene standards is obviously optional. We won't be back. At least the view was lovely… and we weren't sick the next day.

04/05/2026: Passing through Albertville, we stopped for lunch. We ordered the menu written on the chalkboard, expecting a good meal. We were disappointed. The starter, "bruschetta," was on sliced ​​white bread cut in half, with a little tomato sauce, grated cheese, a slice of ham, and a bit of salad. It was a tartine; bruschetta is made with a slice of country bread. The dessert, "Tropézienne," sounded great, promising a treat. What a disappointment! It was a dry brioche cut in half with canned whipped cream in the middle that didn't soften it at all (nothing like a Tropézienne). Even a customer next to us returned it to the waitress. We only enjoyed the duck confit, which was easy to eat, straight from the can. The waitress was pleasant, perhaps to soften the blow of the meal. This brasserie is looking for a waiter/waitress; I think they should be looking for a cook. We ate our meal just to fill our stomachs. It is with meals like these that customers are increasingly going to bakeries, which make good sandwiches.

24/03/2026: If you're looking for a more upscale restaurant than your usual haunts, head to La Virgule! The prices are very reasonable. The quality-to-price ratio is truly perfect! A delight for the taste buds! The food is plentiful! It's a real treat! And you'll always discover new flavors! This restaurant is perfect for birthday celebrations if you'd like to celebrate out! Cloth tablecloths and napkins, excellent service, delicious dishes, an idyllic setting—what more could you ask for? Thank you for all the future evenings with friends at your place!

The couscous was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and very generous. We thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. You can tell that everything is prepared with care and by families. A wonderful discovery that we highly recommend. We will gladly return!

10/04/2026: Our stay here was, in many ways, a study in contrasts. To start on a positive note, the front desk team was excellent. They were professional, proactive, and even offered us a room upgrade upon arrival, which immediately set a strong first impression. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t quite live up to that standard. The food was perfectly acceptable, though not especially memorable if you’re hoping for a culinary highlight. The biggest disconnect came at the outdoor pool area. I wasn’t there to swim — I simply needed to retrieve an item from a family member’s bag while she was in the water. Since she couldn’t hear me from a distance, I walked toward the pool to get it myself, as one would normally expect to do in any hotel setting. Partway there, I realized I was being followed rather urgently by the spa staff. It was only then that anyone explained the hotel’s policy requiring guests to wear hotel-issued flip-flops on the outdoor pool deck. What made the situation particularly frustrating was the complete lack of practical assistance. No one offered to call out to my family member, help retrieve the bag, or explain the rule beforehand. The focus seemed to be entirely on enforcement rather than hospitality. To be frank, I’ve had traffic stops that felt more courteous and clearly communicated. At least there, the rules are made clear from the outset and the tone remains civil. In this case, there was no mention of the policy in the booking materials and no visible signage at the entrance. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational for what was obviously a simple, harmless situation. It was also disappointing that, despite the excellent welcome from the front desk, no one later acknowledged or attempted to address that experience. There’s also an odd contradiction in the hotel’s strictness regarding footwear hygiene in an outdoor area while maintaining a beautiful but notably noisy frog pond directly beside the room windows. While visually charming, the frogs create significant noise throughout the night, which made it difficult to get proper sleep. It’s a shame, because the kindness of the front desk staff, the nice interior and the room upgrade — which was genuinely appreciated — ended up being overshadowed by inconsistent service and the noisy environment. If you value a quiet night and a bit of common-sense hospitality, this may be worth keeping in mind. At this price level, the inconsistencies in service and sleep quality make the overall value feel somewhat hard to reconcile.

10/04/2026: Third time at the Couvent des Minimes. The spa is still as magnificent and luxurious as ever. However, it lacks maintenance. Brown waterline in the rooms with stone walls. Cracked paint on the ceiling and mold in the sensory shower. Limescale on the showerhead faucets and on the ceiling, and mold on the walls of the changing room shower. The receptionist was courteous and smiling: she told me that my comments would be passed on, but didn't write them down for future reference when I explained my surprise and disappointment. Nothing more. I don't think this is what you'd expect from a 5-star Relais & Châteaux. The restaurant and service were impeccable, the waiter was highly professional. Superb setting.

24/04/2026: We've been several times and have never been disappointed! The galettes and crêpes are delicious, generously filled, exactly what you'd expect from a crêperie. Attentive and efficient service. Excellent value for money, we'll be back.
