18/08/2026: Excellent value for money! The waitress, cook, and owner are all fantastic, and the all-you-can-eat buffet features traditional French cuisine. I don't know of any better; I highly recommend it! Come and try it, you won't be disappointed.

23/06/2026: At TAEM, it all starts with a rather lukewarm welcome. I couldn't verify this, but it seems to me their walk-in cooler is warmer. You order, then you wait. Standing. For a long time. About 25 minutes. The perfect amount of time to wonder if you chose the right sauce for your fries (spoiler alert: no). As for drinks, a small surprise: two 50cl San Pellegrino bottles ordered… two 33cl cans received. The waiter's explanation: the 50cl cans are for on-site consumption only. This information wasn't provided when ordering, but the price was indeed for the 50cl bottles. An interesting concept: paying for what you don't get. Now for the heart of the matter: the burger. The meat was ordered rare, received… cold, clearly cooked well before being assembled. The steak was literally colder than the salad, which is quite an achievement in itself. As for the taste: nothing to report. Nothing to report is precisely the problem. Very little sauce, and a cheap, industrially produced cheese, or rather, spread. The pepper sauce served with the fries was almost a case of identity theft: it tasted like lukewarm water, and honestly had less character than my 33cl San Pellegrino. All this for nearly €15. At that price, you'd at least expect a hot meal, a drink you ordered, and to feel something other than disappointment. In short, if you're looking for a memorable culinary experience, TAEM will leave its mark… EDITED – Following the owner's response: We did say hello upon entering. If there was no interaction afterward, that's precisely the problem. A simple "hello" doesn't constitute service. Moreover, given other reviews mentioning deplorable service, I sincerely doubt the problem was solely on my end. Regarding the drinks: yes, I'm particular about 17 cl. When I pay for a specific quantity, I have the right to receive it. If the quantity differs between eating in and taking away, this must be clearly stated at the time of ordering, not explained afterward. Otherwise, it's bound to cause confusion. I won't say I found better elsewhere. That would be counterproductive and could be interpreted as disguised advertising, which is not my intention. My review is solely intended to recount my experience, and I want it to remain online. As for the cheese, I acknowledge my mistake and apologize. However, regarding the burger's temperature: I work 100 meters from the restaurant. The 45-second commute to my office cannot transform a hot steak into a cold one. It was already cold when it was handed to me. My review is not meant to be "toxic." It simply reflects a disappointing experience. If you respond to every review reply with an attack, I think that says a lot about the service overall. Take care, and I hope my review isn't mistaken for "toxic" again, but simply a consumer opinion. EDITED 2 It's closed; the negative reviews weren't unfounded after all :)

02/03/2026: I discovered this restaurant. Its concept of "open-faced sandwiches" at affordable prices is original—except for the oysters: only 4 plus a small glass of white wine for 10 euros... But everything else is varied, with generous portions, and the waitress is welcoming and friendly with a smile! Well located on the peninsula. I recommend it for a lunch or dinner break—original and very pleasant, almost like stepping out of a tourist trap!

28/02/2026: Nice atmosphere. Good value for money. Could be a bit cleaner. Cobwebs were hanging overhead. Don't look up. Lol. The food was a bit too exposed for my liking. Friendly, cheerful, and smiling staff.

21/08/2026: We discovered this inn after a 9km hike to the Chorsin waterfall. There were two of us. The inn was full, but they managed to find us a spot outside. We ate very well for a very reasonable price. The waiter was very friendly. The view of the Monts du Lyonnais was superb. We highly recommend it! 👌

28/07/2026: Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the food was good. However, the service needs improvement. We barely finished our plates, even though we still had food in our mouths, before they were cleared away. We didn't even have time to enjoy our aperitif before everything happened so quickly. We felt like we had to eat fast rather than have a pleasant experience. Furthermore, the prices are quite high considering the portion sizes. It's a shame, because with more relaxed service and better value for money, the experience would have been much more enjoyable.

30/07/2026: Haute cuisine lunch! We had lunch here. We didn't reserve, but they were happy to make room. The lunch was very special, with beautiful presentation on the plates and, of course, delicious food. Prompt and attentive service. We were only on the island for a bike ride; otherwise, we certainly would have gone back for dinner!

29/07/2026: Serghi richly deserved its 5 stars. Located opposite the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, the restaurant boasts a superb terrace and a setting that never ceases to amaze. In the kitchen, it's flawless: the dishes are excellent, perfectly executed, and showcase superb ingredients. A huge congratulations to the entire kitchen team. The wine list is also top-notch and pairs beautifully with the dishes. The only drawback concerns the service. While professional, it can be a bit rushed and varies depending on the waiter serving your table. This is a shame, as it sometimes clashes with the excellent level of the cuisine and prevents the restaurant from offering an even more refined experience. Despite this, the restaurant remains a must for enjoying a truly wonderful meal in one of the most beautiful settings on Île de Ré.

12/07/2026: Excellent little restaurant located in the village's former schoolhouse. We ate under the covered area and enjoyed a bit of fresh air in the current heatwave. A family-run establishment; the husband is the chef and the wife takes care of the pastries and desserts. Parking nearby (20 meters). Spotless accessible restrooms and other facilities.

20/06/2026: Our grandfather booked a table at this restaurant for his birthday, and we had a wonderful time. From the service to the food, everything was perfect! We highly recommend it.

31/07/2026: I wish I could give 0 stars. I hope the food you serve is better than the service you provide. We arrived without a reservation and politely asked for a table for two. Instead of a simple greeting, the first thing we heard was, “Reservation?” We were seated at a cramped shared table, and the waitress made no effort to communicate with us despite realizing we didn’t speak French. She simply threw the menus on the table, gave an explanation in French that we couldn’t understand, and walked away. We felt so unwelcome that we left before ordering. 0 stars.

31/07/2026: The snails in the hot pot were so delicious, so satisfying! I've always wanted to try snails in France, but the restaurant was a bit hot inside. In summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the cool breeze. The French toast with vanilla ice cream was rich and slightly sweet. The truffle risotto was very good, but a bit too rich and cloying after a while. The eight-hour slow-cooked steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender – the best choice. The fish and mashed potatoes were a perfect combination – definitely worth ordering. My first meal in France – so happy!

10/08/2026: This well-located crêperie has two terraces open in the summer. Set menus are available. The service is quick and the staff are welcoming. I was able to recharge my battery using the electrical outlet on the covered terrace.
