20/04/2026: Restaurant found online. Stopped on our holiday route. Warm welcome. The two waitresses were very attentive and friendly. And the food!! A real treat... Absolutely nothing to complain about. The set menu we chose was very generous. Rustic interior. Bravo to the chef; and congratulations to the owner. If we return, it will be without hesitation.

10/05/2026: A wonderful discovery. We tried the suggested dishes, the knives were marvelous. The Berthoud was to die for...in short, not to be missed...admittedly not a very large room, so remember to book, it's worth the trip.

17/04/2026: We celebrated my birthday at the Auberge du Goulet on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Everything was perfect: the staff was fantastic, the food excellent, and the atmosphere great. I highly recommend this inn; the whole team is wonderful!

14/04/2026: My parents got married at the Auberge du Goulet, and a little over 20 years later, here we are celebrating my mother's 60th birthday at the same inn. The owner has changed, but the quality remains the same! Exceptional service; the owners and the servers are both lovely and incredibly attentive! The food is excellent, served piping hot (yes, for meals in large dining rooms, that's rare!). Go to the Auberge du Goulet without hesitation for any event! Weddings, birthdays, baptisms—the organization and service are impeccable! Go without hesitation! Thank you again to the staff for this unforgettable evening.

04/05/2026: This is our second visit. We love the rustic and secluded feel of the rooms. We want to commend the young waiters who pampered us with such kindness. We were also touched by the arrangement of a shuttle service on this rainy day. Well done to everyone: this kind of attentive and warm welcome is becoming increasingly rare.

16/04/2026: Restaurant closed despite a sign saying "open" on the front door (I quote: Monday to Friday, ..., from 6:45 pm... I arrived at 7:15 pm...) door closed... no one answers the phone... a young man comes out, barely says hello, and leaves immediately... (he tells me there's a sign on the door saying it's closed, but it's not there... he says it's indicated on the website, but there's no mention of it there either...) Classy... what a welcome!!

After reading about Le Bistro d'en Face in Le Michellin guide we were excited to visit for dinner on the terrace overlooking the Dordogne river, and boy were we not disappointed! The food was excellent 👌,fresh ingredients, prepared simply but with panache. We both opted for the local delicacy of Canard de Foix Gras served with 2 variations of prune jus and a stick of homemade walnut bread. The Foix Gras was rich and buttery while the prune sauces balanced the dish with sweet sharpness. For my main course I opted for the smoked and grilled beef fillet, cooked medium rare to perfection with home cooked pomme frites, carrot puree, grilled spring onions and a creamy, savoury, borderlais type sauce. Dressed with pickled white mustard seeds it was a perfectly put together and well thought out plate. Well balanced, with no one component battling against the others. My companion chose the grilled turbot with samphire and lemon butter sauce served with a separate creamy pea rissoto and what looked like a parmesan crisp coloured with squid ink. The fish was cooked perfectly, delicate firm flesh with a beautiful light flavour. There is a reason the turbot is the king of fish! Well balanced fillet with a buttery, fatty edge meeting the crispy skin. Imagine salmon belly sashimi and you'll be close! The sauce was rich, sharp and complemented the fish well and the salty samphire balanced out the richness perfectly. Finally onto the last course. A selection of french cheeses was delivered to my side of the table, while a light and airy mousse au chocolat with a hazelnut crisp and strawberry sorbet was placed down opposite. The cheeses had clearly been left to breathe for a while as they were at the perfect temperature, creamy, soft and the clear winner was the goats cheese from the Pyranes, delicious! A close second was the firm, slightly golden cows milk cheese. I only tasted a small spoonful of my companions dessert, but what a spoonful....Rich, decedent and voluptuous. A chocolate lovers dream dessert. The house Rosé was better than average, somewhat let down by the plastic cooler sleeve. The food and the service were superb. A clear example of a restaurant with a small selection of dishes done to perfection. My only real criticisms were that we were expected to keep our cutlery for both our starter and main course. Why Le Bistro d'en Face???? This was disappointing for a restaurant with such a good reputation. Linen napkins and a fish knife for the turbot would have been nice additions, but not a necessity. All in all a great evening and highly recommended.

22/04/2026: A wonderful stay. A peaceful and beautiful location surrounded by olive trees! A superb swimming pool! A very warm welcome! We dined at the restaurant three evenings. Delicious and varied. We highly recommend it 👏
