08/09/2026: A truly wonderful place. The seven-course meal, with wine pairings, was absolutely delicious from start to finish, including a cheese platter that offered a culinary journey through France. The setting is calm and charming. We will definitely return.

29/08/2026: Our expectations were high after reading the reviews. It actually disappointed us a bit. Although the dishes looked beautiful. First of all, we had to wait half an hour before the hostess gave us the menu and asked if we wanted an aperitif. A drink earlier would have been nice, as you could then enjoy it at your leisure before the starter. We both ordered the lunch menu. One fish dish and one duck dish. My friend also ordered a wine pairing. The gazpacho was unique and very flavorful. The duck was overcooked and not medium rare as ordered. The fish was a sea bass gravadlax?? In a shrimp sauce. Only the salty taste of the fish remained, which was overpowered by the sauce. Unfortunately. The dessert lacked flavor. A real letdown was the wine pairing: 3 glasses of wine for €30. 6 ml per glass. That is really just a tiny amount. The wines were not well-chosen to complement the dishes. The crémeux with the dessert in particular (which he only received after asking for it) was far too sour to go with the sweet dessert. When we pointed this out to the hostess when settling the bill, she immediately went on the defensive. Not very professional. So the intention is there, but the execution leaves something to be desired.

02/05/2026: The owner is awful; she speaks rudely to her employees who don't respect her. I don't think that's right. I witnessed it myself as a customer. The head chef behaves inappropriately towards his staff. The restaurant isn't accessible for people with disabilities; the restrooms aren't wheelchair accessible. I don't think that's right either. However, it's a good restaurant, but I won't be returning because of the staff's behavior.

23/09/2026: A pleasant stop. The salmon was excellent! As for the rest of the buffet, the dishes weren't very flavorful. That said, for €13 (salmon, side dish, and drink), I don't know many places that offer such prices! You can go back for seconds whenever you like!

22/09/2026: This is definitely the restaurant I go to most often, almost every lunchtime! My daily go-to, but way better than any other canteen!! Honestly, you won't find better in Lyon in terms of quality, quantity, and price, and the owner and his waitress are super friendly. I rarely leave reviews, but they deserve it.

10/10/2026: A very nice, well-stocked shop with plenty of choices for candy lovers. The lollipops are excellent, with a wide variety to suit all tastes. It's a shame the welcome from the woman there that day was only average, and the service was very rushed.

14/09/2026: I was made sit at a high table rather than other empty standard tables because I was on my own. I had the risotto which for 16 euro for half a small small bowl was more than a bit expensive. It would be one thing of it was great and tasty but it was extremely bland. I make much better myself. Also there is a pattern to your replies just saying. Maybe some people cannot take constructive criticism. EDIT My reply to owners comments. Everything you said was fair but so we're my comments, which is why I gave 3 out 5 stars. My French is not great but a couple came in not long after me and they told you they didn't have a reservation and you sat them, straight away. There was also at least 3-4 other tables which were free the entire time I was there. With no reserved sign etc. My review could have been 1 star if I was just being passive aggressive like your reply was. Yes your business does have good reviews maybe for a reason. I didn't say the food was bad I said it was a bit tasteless. Also if you look at the picture I posted the actual dish you can see by the size of the rest of the picture, is nearly only about 6-7inches diameter and about 3 inches tall. I call this a small portion for what I paid.

14/09/2026: Excellent establishment, homemade cuisine using seasonal ingredients. Friendly staff, a concise menu, but at least everything is fresh. Highly recommended!

18/10/2026: Today, Sunday, October 18th, I made a reservation on the restaurant's website for Sunday the 25th at 9:45 PM, as that date and time were available. Shortly after, I received a voicemail on my mobile phone informing me that the 9:45 PM reservation was not possible because the restaurant closed at 9:30 PM and asking me to call back if I still wished to dine at the restaurant on Sunday the 25th at 9:30 PM. I called the restaurant to say that I would make other arrangements and would be there at 9:30 PM. But then the same person who had left me a message offering the 9:30 PM time slot told me, "Sir, the restaurant closes at 9:30 PM. You will therefore need to have finished eating by 9:30 PM, so you must arrive earlier." Actually, if the restaurant opens at 7 pm and you have to be out by 9:30 pm, it would be better, I think, to put the opening hours online as 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Because if we arrive to eat at 9 pm, 30 minutes is a bit tight to order and eat. I think it would be advisable to change professions to work those kinds of hours in a restaurant. We shouldn't complain if fast food takes up a large share of the market. I'll just buy a takeaway pizza and a good bottle of wine from a grocer. It will save me money, and it will prevent me from supporting people who don't deserve it.

02/10/2026: We ate yesterday, it could have been good, but: we didn't get a detailed bill, and this needs to be checked. We were probably charged for three 50cl shandy instead of the 25cl ones included in the bill. And the extra €3 for a decaf "instead" of the set coffee? Someone would have drunk that included coffee anyway. We don't like being ripped off when we trust someone 😭

24/08/2026: Indeed, my previous comment was for a different restaurant. Regarding Le Bouchon Normand, I found the service chaotic, with the staff running around in all directions… and not very organized (probably staffed for the high season). The dishes themselves were quite decent. I must point out that my wife's dish, the black cod loin, was undercooked in the center. She was sick during the night, probably because of it 😟 The rest was good, and the price was reasonable for the location.
