02/07/2026: I saw the overall rating given by the public, I'm shocked lol Honestly, I've lived in the area for 5 months and this is my local bakery, and I honestly don't think it's anything special. It seems to be taking full advantage of its location and the associations it makes (it's in Old Lille, a rustic building, so you'd think the products would be too). Well, actually, no. Every time I've bought a ham and butter sandwich there, the bread wasn't soft, but almost stale in texture. (Between noon and 3 pm) The bread is the same, but I mostly bought it in the evening, so it has the excuse of being past its prime. (Around 6 pm) But what motivated me to leave a comment is that this morning at 8:30 am they were out of pain au chocolat. I... what? So early and already sold out? With the locals' bird-like appetites? Defrost a bit more, really, don't you think? Honestly, Aziza in Wazemmes is better, even though their bread isn't very well baked. Still, you're better than the bakery at the Wazemmes metro station, which is the worst, or even the one on Place Vanhoenecker. But don't aim to be the worst, try to be the best, please. The staff is lovely, hence the 2 stars, but I buy bread and pastries there, not good times with the staff.

15/05/2026: A most disappointing experience tonight. We ordered tarte flambée to take away. What a letdown when we saw the state of the tartes! They were far too cooked underneath; the burnt pastry tasted awful. There was hardly any cream on top, or what little there was was completely dried out. And a few bits of bacon were practically fighting amongst themselves! Frankly, this is the last time we'll be going back (unfortunately, it wasn't our first time, but we wanted to give it a second chance). The restaurant Au Chasseur used to be a reliable choice before the change of ownership. We won't be returning.

09/07/2026: Prime location in the heart of the city, friendly, fast, and efficient service. Excellent value for money. We highly recommend this place.

24/06/2026: The staff were young, a bit stressed, and very shy: the atmosphere wasn't very relaxed. The service was adequate but lacked warmth. The food was excellent.

24/05/2026: We were very disappointed with our visit to your restaurant yesterday… the wine was of very poor quality and you were kind enough to change it, but the rest of the meal was just as dreadful… the duck breast was raw, the homemade fries were mere crumbs, the new potatoes were extremely dry and therefore certainly reheated, the sauces, which looked so appetizing, were served in excessive quantities on the plate… in short, we strongly advise against going there…. Despite the pleasant service staff.

08/07/2026: I was absolutely delighted with my visit to Café de l'Opéra; the atmosphere and decor are truly warm and welcoming. The service was top-notch, with a very professional welcome and a smiling waiter. Incredible value for money; I highly recommend it.

06/07/2026: I loved this restaurant! The West African food was excellent. The thieboudienne was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous! The staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere!

06/07/2026: I’ve heard such good things about this place and the food did not disappoint. We got a variety of things and it was all cooked to order. The Maffe stew was my favorite especially with the house made hot sauce. The juices are really good but come in a skinny glass with lots of ice. The service was a little slow and our server didn’t seem too enthused to be working.

11/04/2026: Restaurant booked for a retirement party. Good food. Fast service. The owner was understanding considering the noise and the late hour we left.

30/05/2026: After our hike, we had a wonderful lunch (around 2 pm) with a daily special that was simply perfect: grilled sea bream fillet with a potato gratin from the Forez region (with Fourme d'Ambert cheese and garlic), a small side salad, and an excellent chestnut fondant for dessert. To top it all off, the waitresses were lovely. A place to remember!
