07/06/2026: Highly recommended!! The perfect hotel for a visit to St. Malo. Family-run (mother, daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter), incredibly warm welcome. English is no problem. Fantastic tips for our two-day stay, including restaurant recommendations for the nearby "Fidelis" and "Bouche en Folie" (personal reviews, both excellent!). Located within the city walls in a relatively quiet side street near a gate. You can park your car across the street at the gate and it's best to leave it there (€13/24h in the off-season). You're right in the heart of St. Malo, the cathedral is just around the corner. Narrow stairs to the fourth floor. There's an elevator, although it wasn't working at the beginning of June 2026. Small suitcases are an advantage.... :-) The rooms are compact but spotless, very clean, and well-maintained. Everything you need is there. Good beds! Even flowers on the windowsill! Ours was on the third floor. The noise from the seagulls was so bad that we had to close the windows at the beginning of June. The highlight is breakfast, which is offered for an extra €15. Very reasonable! On the ground floor, you sit in a rustic setting surrounded by natural stone walls at lovely country-style tables. There's a lot of decoration, almost too much. The owners like it, and that's perfectly fine. Each guest receives their own small pair of tongs to take the pre-cut food. There are no knives provided. You don't cut anything yourself! Only the hosts cut bread, cakes, and other items: precisely what will actually be eaten. There's always something available. Wonderfully sustainable. Nothing is left over, nothing is thrown away! Very hygienic because no one touches the food. Fantastic bread, toast, various cakes (the apple cake is amazing!!!), juice, jam, and also delicious cheese and salami, attractively pre-sliced. Espresso, fresh orange juice, or egg dishes are available for a small additional charge. The ideal little boutique hotel. A place to feel at home!

16/04/2026: A set menu shared with friends, using the Gourmet Passport. Mimosa eggs, veal osso buco with sides and strawberry dessert, aperitif, wine (Pic Saint-Loup) and coffee, all for €135 for four people. Beautiful decor, calm atmosphere, impeccable service, and excellent cuisine.

18/05/2026: The brasserie's terrace looked like a lovely spot for a drink or a bite to eat. Unfortunately, it was too cold outside that day, and as a result, the smoking customers had taken over the place. The service, provided by two young waiters, was very attentive. Kudos to them both. The atmosphere is very noisy, partly because the kitchen music is played at full blast. However, as for the food... what a disaster. The portions are generous, but the preparation of my beef tartare was, how shall I say... I felt like I was on the show "Kitchen Nightmares." The tartare was swimming in grease because they had added far too much oil along with the egg yolk. In addition, there were far too many condiments (gherkins and onions), very roughly chopped. Finally, my steak tartare was purple because of way too much ketchup, but especially way, way too much Worcestershire sauce. As a result, I couldn't even taste the meat; instead, I had a very, very acidic "paste." In short, it's a nice spot for a drink on the terrace in the city center, but otherwise, unless you want to be Philippe Etchebest, avoid the restaurant section.

23/04/2026: Keep walking. I'd already eaten at the one in Hyères and it was the same story as below. There was a time when crêperies actually served salad with their crêpes... it seems to have become a luxury. I'm giving it 2 stars because there are worse places, but the crêpes are mediocre, nothing refined, not even in the presentation. The service leaves much to be desired and the prices are high: for example, €2 for an extra ingredient like whipped cream is outrageous.

22/03/2026: Unpleasant atmosphere, rude waiter, €10 minimum charge by credit card (we were only informed of this at the end without any prior notice), hazelnut coffee with a tiny spoonful of milk – the worst possible service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

22/03/2026: Absolutely dreadful service, no smiles or human interaction from the waiter. A €10 minimum charge per card payment, of course, which we were only informed of when the bill arrived. The coffee was terrible; we ordered a hazelnut coffee and received it with no milk or, at best, just a tiny drop. With so much competition in Paris, really, avoid this place; there are much better options.
