05/07/2026: We came in as a walk-in group of 16 and asked in advance if it was okay to have drinks and possibly order food later. The owner agreed and gave us a table. When we decided not to have lunch after all, his attitude changed completely. He became very rude, threw cutlery around, and even started clearing our table while we were still paying. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing service. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

05/10/2025: I don't approve of this cocktail bar at all; it's too noisy; you can't hear each other 20 cm away without shouting. And to make matters worse, the cocktails weren't even good. Once outside, it was a real liberation for my ears.

29/06/2026: We enjoyed our visit to Café de Paris V. At the time of our visit, 6pm (ish), the bar was fairly quiet, but the atmosphere was relaxed. The piano player started playing his tunes which added even more to the atmosphere. There's only a couple of food options, where are brought in, rather than made on the premises, but still OK. Would visit again.

13/07/2026: The welcome we received upon arrival was appalling: no smiles, no consideration for customers. We were categorically refused a drink or a meal, under the pretext that all the tables were reserved, even though 70% of the tables were empty and it was the beginning of service. The situation is all the more incomprehensible as the staff seemed more preoccupied with chatting amongst themselves than attending to the customers present or potential patrons. There was no effort to offer an alternative, no sense of service or hospitality whatsoever. It's very disappointing and gives an unprofessional impression of the establishment. We left without ordering anything, with the distinct feeling of being unwelcome. An experience to avoid if you're looking for even a modicum of consideration and professionalism.

12/07/2026: A truly appalling experience. We came for a drink and a bite to eat. We were seated, given the menus that were on the tables, and ordered two beers and a platter of speck ham listed at €9. We drank our beers, ate the platter, and then I received a bank statement: €33.30. So I called the waiter over to find out what had happened. He explained that he had made a mistake and charged us for a platter from the evening menu, priced at €16.90, a platter that wasn't even on the menu we had in front of us. At that point, I asked to see the manager. And instead of simply admitting the mistake, he came over and spoke down to us. He explained that it wasn't "the right menu" and that it must have been "lying around on the tables," even though the same menu was on several tables around us. So no, it wasn't a menu that had been randomly left behind: it was simply the menu given to customers. When I pointed out that we had never ordered that particular platter, his response was ludicrous: "Yes, but you ate it." He even added that I should have realized myself that it wasn't speck ham, but Bayonne ham or some other type of charcuterie. Apparently, it's up to the customer to check the contents of their plates and guess at the service's mistakes. The manager clearly took me for an idiot, even accusing me of being dishonest. Except that, in reality, the restaurant had mixed up the menu, the platter, and the price, then charged the customer more before explaining that it was the customer's responsibility to pay for it. And when we simply asked for a logical gesture, since we were ready to order another drink, the gentleman got angry and snapped that he "didn't have all night." What a fine example of customer service. Perhaps with a nice location, some people think they can treat customers like passing tourists they'll never see again. Too bad: we're neighbors. We know very well the difference between a mistake handled intelligently and a manager who prefers to look down on people. Instead of acting like kings because they have a nice location, perhaps they should seriously review their customer service, how they handle mistakes, and their respect for customers. Disastrous service, exorbitant prices, unacknowledged mistake, unpleasant manager, and no sense of business. When you charge almost twice the price for a platter you didn't order, the least you can do is own up to your mistake instead of treating people like idiots.
