29/09/2024: Hoping to go to another restaurant, which was full, we ended up choosing Charolais randomly. What we got was a typical bistrot menu. We had the steak tartar with frites and a mustard caper/gerkin sauce on the side, and a warm goat’s chease salad with bread. Both dishes met our expectations in terms flavour and freshness and with some wine was a very pleasant lunch. The owner and his staff were friendly and attentive. This bistrot offers very good value.

22/09/2024: L’endroit pourrait être sympa si la direction n’était pas aussi désagréable ( sur les nerfs du matin au soir) . En clair: notre présence les dérange. La nourriture est par ailleurs très médiocre ( salade de chèvre chaud minuscule, plateau de fromage idem et de supermarché ) mais les prix sont abordables et le quartier très sympa. Raison de plus pour aller chez les voisins

18/09/2024: Friendly welcome, excellent service, shaded terrace which is very welcome during the heat of summer to quietly enjoy a good cold drink...go there, you'll be happy there! Please note: dogs are welcome and, ideally located 10 minutes from Le Puy, St-Paulien is a very good base for visiting the Haute-Loire. Thanks again to the whole team. See you soon!

22/08/2024: Avec ma femme, on s'attendait a beaucoup mieux . Le plat du jour , des pates au truffe râpée était bon mais un peu bourratif avec trop de pates et pas assez variées. Le pain perdu en dessert était brulé et sec. Le cadre est agréable avec la vue du soleil couchant sur le lac.

21/08/2024: Nous avons déjeuner en famille au restaurant. Une véritable réussite. Le cadre est accueillant, les verres à vin sont supers (c’est important à souligner si vous buvez un vin un peu sympa), le personnel à l’écoute. Nos deux enfants en bas ages ont été servis rapidement et les pates du menu très bonnes. Les plats sont excellents, nous avons prit un bouillon au saumon façon thaï au lait de coco et l’agneau en croute. Une réussite ! Et jetez-vous sur le pain perdu et les glaces sont parmi les meilleurs que nous avons eu l’occasion de déguster (fait maison). Un sans faute … Merci pour ce moment

06/09/2024: Repas copieux et personnel sympathique. Mais 2eme partie de notre repas en terrasse gâché par la fumée des cigarettes qui a rapidement pollué cet espace terrasse bâché plafond et côtés. La seule porte ouverte permettait soi-disant de classer cette terrasse "ouverte", explication qui ne nous a pas convaincus. Dommage, ça aurait pu être une soirée agréable.

30/08/2024: My lamb with Au Gratin was very good, I got the combo for 29 euro with entree and dessert. My daughter’s veal was chewy and overcooked. My cousins veal was also very good, she specified to cook it quickly on each side. I would come back again.

28/08/2024: The dishes are super good! And the puree is a delight without a name. The only downside is that the music is a little loud sometimes.

31/08/2024: It was the first time we came to eat, and we were very disappointed. A welcome that was deplorable, no smile, we almost had the impression of being a nuisance.. As soon as we were seated, the waitress came directly to see us to see if we wanted to drink something; we didn't have a menu to look at what the restaurant offered as an aperitif. My partner took a breaded escalope, he insisted when ordering that he did not want vegetables or sauce. The waitress replied without diplomacy that it is written on the menu that there is only vegetables and fries and no sauce! I myself had a pizza which was honestly not great, the dough had no taste, I felt like I was eating cardboard. We waited for the waitress to come and clear up and offer us the dessert menu, unfortunately the wait was too long so we preferred to leave. During checkout, the waitress took the liberty of addressing us on familiar terms, I found that a little inappropriate, especially since before wanting to address customers on familiar terms, they would first have to smile at them. The waitresses seem completely overwhelmed, I think there is a lot of lack of organization in this restaurant. Waitresses who are not made for this profession to my taste, no waitress asked us if the meal had gone well if we enjoyed it or if everything was okay during the meal. the table that was right next to us was just as disappointed the waitress who got the wrong wine etc etc..

29/09/2024: Cute place but definitely a tourist trap. They charged 8 euros for a Diet Coke and 7 euros for a bottle of water — unreasonable markup.

28/09/2024: Plush restaurant with nice seating areas on the 1st floor. Unfortunately it's a bit old, a new carpet and a cleaner toilet would be a plus.

10/09/2024: Central and elegant traditional Bordeaux brasserie Correct product quality and prices according to the place. The service was a bit slow, understandable since it was full. The excellent crêpe Suzette and the spectacular wine list Advisable

10/09/2024: An iconic family run restaurant positioned right opposite the Monument aux Girondins. A very beautiful spot. We started with yummy snails and oysters for entree’s. The mains were outstanding. We enjoyed the prawn risotto and chargrilled octopus. These were accompanied by glasses of white wine from Burgundy, recommended by Pierre. Dessert was a must do. The Pear and Almond tart and the vanilla crème brûlée were delicious. The service lead by Gaelle was brilliant and the decor and ambience in this restaurant makes any night special. Highly recommended. Thank you.
