25/05/2026: Friendly staff who are also willing to help with other matters. We came here because our camper had broken down and we needed a place to sleep, and they were very understanding of our situation. We were able to stay here for a few nights, but when there really wasn't a spot left, they kept calling until they had arranged another hotel for us. Many thanks for this. They were renovating the hotel and it already looked really neat.

17/06/2026: The Niçoise salad at €18.90 was so-so... Too expensive for just green salad... I definitely don't recommend it.

02/05/2026: The salmon tartare didn't seem fresh. After eating it, I quickly experienced severe stomach pain, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and general malaise for three days. I do not recommend it.

20/12/2025: Incredible cuisine! Every dish was cooked and prepared to perfection, and the service was absolutely flawless. We have absolutely no complaints; it was an excellent experience, and we will be back very soon.

17/06/2026: Arriving at lunchtime, you feel like you're intruding because the staff are drinking their coffee and clearly don't feel like getting up to serve. It's a shame, it used to be our go-to spot with our friend Mika.

18/07/2026: I don't like posting negative reviews about restaurants, but the disappointment is real. Our visit to the Hippopotamus in Créteil last week was our last. The customer service, order taking, and overall service were far too slow. We arrived at 1 p.m. and didn't leave until 3 p.m., and it wasn't because the food was good—quite the opposite. The portions became ridiculously small compared to the price we ordered (even when ordering à la carte). We all asked for our meat to be cooked rare, but ours arrived medium-well. The hamburger on my order was even partially black. We didn't ask to exchange our meat because we had already waited long enough. So we ate it without any enjoyment. We paid and left quickly so as not to miss our movie. The waitress didn't even say a word to ask if everything was alright. I think they know that overall things aren't going well... It's a real shame because we loved this chain when we first discovered it in Paris 20 years ago. Hippopotamus isn't what it used to be. (Value for money, service, friendly atmosphere) PS: My daughter, who ordered a children's meal, didn't receive the little gift that was supposed to be included.

23/04/2026: In a charming and typically Alsatian setting, I ate fleichkirele. A real trip down memory lane, just like at my grandmother's, thank you for that. Plus, a creamy mushroom sauce, a delight. And homemade ice cream, oh my goodness, it's so nice to be away from artificial colors; it was soft and generous... simply the best.

23/04/2026: The food was good, the chef's burger original and tasty. However, the service was very unsatisfactory. No smiles, no professionalism, and it almost felt like we were bothering them or intruding. We weren't offered dessert or coffee, and the tip didn't even warrant a thank you—what a shame! Too few positive aspects to recommend.
