25/11/2025: Excellent! The only downside was that I asked for some fries to try and was charged an extra €6...without being told beforehand! Expensive fries!!!

14/11/2025: A beautiful establishment, steeped in history and tastefully decorated. The home-style cooking is excellent; the calf's head is superb, the freshwater fish dishes are delicious, and the desserts are delightful. The wine list is lovely and original. The place looks very inviting for a drink with friends and a few board games. All this in the picturesque heart of Semur-en-Auxois, a small town we love. We will be back.

28/01/2026: The restaurant is very pleasant in its layout, and the chef's cuisine is worth discovering, living up to the descriptions of the dishes we chose. The service, provided by a team of two (waiter and owner), is very attentive. This is a restaurant to try again next time the menu is released.

28/12/2025: I've been passing by for years, it was about time I stopped in. A very pretty restaurant, a super friendly atmosphere with a lovely view of the lake, especially with the midday sun. The dining room is very clean. The staff is very helpful, professional, and classy. It's always nice to arrive and be offered a place to hang your jacket! A slightly more upscale restaurant than your average one. I really appreciated the complimentary appetizers, as well as the choice of bread. The menu doesn't offer burgers, but rather original dishes like wild duck or oysters. The yuzu butter was incredible. Flavors you won't find anywhere else. In terms of price, you should know what you're getting into to avoid surprises, but it's still reasonable considering the quality of the service. I recommend it for a family weekend. They also offer a children's and teens' menu!

17/11/2025: Hello, We have been regularly having lunch at Auberge de la Colline for the past five years. BUT, we were very disappointed last week (November 12th) with the menu: all originality was gone, only fries were offered as a side dish, the service was extremely slow, the mussels were of poor quality, and the starter had to be reheated. One star for the hanger steak because the meat was still of good quality. However, we continue to appreciate Vanessa's warm welcome and consistently friendly and professional service.

26/01/2026: Having come to Chartres for a concert at the Colosseum, we stopped at the brasserie for a coffee and to find out what time we could eat. We received a very warm welcome, and after making a reservation for 6 pm, we experienced the staff's friendliness towards all customers. For our meal, we chose the Escalope Normande, and I can tell you it was delicious and a generous portion. I recommend this brasserie to anyone who wants to enjoy a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

21/08/2025: I came to the Brasserie de l'Ouest for the first time and honestly it's a very good (and super beautiful) restaurant! The manager is great, the staff too, nothing to complain about. The dish of the day was excellent, the prices are affordable and the restaurant is well located, close to everything. I will definitely come back! Thank you again for your welcome :)

01/06/2025: It was regulars at this brasserie who introduced me to "Le Bleu," and I'm delighted! And for good reason: a simple and friendly welcome (even though we arrived without a reservation! and right in the middle of lunch service!) immediately won us over... We were able to choose to be seated on the outdoor terrace, which was very pleasantly shaded on this sunny day (May 31, 2025), forcing the staff to set up an additional table and chairs, without any hesitation despite the busy service... Then it was a most harmonious lunch: excellent food (unanimously agreed by our small group!), service always attentive and well-paced, with no excessive wait between courses, all for a more than competitive price... In short, a place to remember! I'll definitely be back!

24/12/2025: Avoid this place; some rather peculiar regulars on the terrace are ready to fight with peaceful customers, it's best to keep walking, it can be particularly dangerous.

14/12/2025: A very bad breakfast experience, not because of the food or the rest of the staff—who are actually quite friendly—but because of the morning service manager. As soon as a customer walked in, you could hear him sighing wearily, clearly annoyed. For almost 20 minutes, he loudly repeated every two minutes that he was going to close the service, even though there was still plenty of time left. No diplomacy, no sense of hospitality: this way of speaking to customers first thing in the morning is extremely stressful and inappropriate. People come for breakfast to start the day calmly, not to be rushed, made to feel uncomfortable, and constantly reminded of the imminent closing time. The result: no pleasure in staying, just a heavy and unpleasant atmosphere. It's a real shame, because the rest of the team is friendly, but with a team leader displaying such exasperation with customers, it's difficult to appreciate their friendliness. Avoid breakfast if you're looking for a quiet moment.

14/12/2025: A very poor experience at breakfast. The manager behaved in a particularly unpleasant manner, repeatedly asking us to leave the room before we had finished eating, which created a very awkward atmosphere. We were forced to leave before we had even finished our breakfast, an unacceptable situation for a 4-star hotel, revealing a complete lack of customer service and respect. Conversely, the staff were friendly and much more professional, which deserves to be highlighted. It's a shame that such behavior spoiled the overall experience.
