I simply ate there on January 28, 2026, and I was lucky enough to eat near the fireplace, but above all, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the taste, the aroma of the melt-in-your-mouth vegetables, and the tenderness of the meat, all accompanied by an excellent fresh dessert. All this the day after returning from a well-deserved 3-week vacation. A big thank you and well done! ❤️

09/07/2025: THE MOST SCANDALOUS THING, despite everything...!! While passing through the establishment, we had an aperitif with my children and my partner. EVERYTHING: the setting, the location, the quality of the food (we only had aperitif snacks), BUT we were packed on the terrace, despite the friendly waiter. BUT what a surprise when we received the bill: the exorbitant price of a small 25cl bottle of Vittel water: €8.70, which is €34.80 per liter...!!! More expensive than a good wine...!!! ESPECIALLY since we hadn't noticed the price on the menu, otherwise we would have ordered a 50cl bottle, for example, which is only 30 cents more...!! Or a carafe of water because we had ordered two snack plates with this aperitif...!! The manager on site barely answers us to explain the exorbitant price of a 25 cl Vittel..!! After several phone calls, a person from the café sends us back to the website to write because for her everything is normal and does not want to hear anything and explain why?? AFTER several months, the manager of the restaurant calls us back to kindly explain that it is their pricing policy, confusion on Vittel and small bottle…!! and that in a palace it is more expensive….OK, fine….! we are far from it all the same…..just a well-located CAFE/RESTO, total abuse on this price, the rest remains CORRECT all the same…so AVOID the 25cl VITTEL…

30/01/2026: We spent two nights of our Val d’Isère trip dining at Le Gourmandine and, unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by a very serious issue. During one of our visits, a set of skis was stolen directly from the restaurant’s own ski rack, right in front of the entrance. After happily spending a significant amount of money there over two nights, it was incredibly upsetting to have this happen on their premises — especially to later learn that the rack area was not covered by cameras. After we began raising the issue publicly and sharing our experience, the skis “magically” reappeared the following morning at the very same restaurant. Despite this, we decided (perhaps unwisely) to return. When we politely asked if we could place the same skis somewhere safer — given what had already happened — the staff were dismissive and rude. We were told we could not put them anywhere near the windows and were instructed to leave them on the exact same rack from which they had previously been stolen. There was no reassurance, no understanding, and no meaningful effort to acknowledge the situation. For a restaurant operating at this price point in a resort like Val d’Isère, you expect not only quality food and service, but also a basic level of responsibility and professionalism when something goes wrong. Sadly, that was not our experience.

17/01/2026: Worst burger I've ever eaten! Dry bun, overcooked meat with absolutely no flavor (clearly frozen), a measly bit of cheese stuck to the bun, no sauce... Not to mention the dining room wasn't soundproofed, so it was incredibly noisy. Plus, there was no ventilation; we left with all our clothes reeking of cooking. In short, a complete disaster! This restaurant has very little in common with the Relais d'Alsace I knew previously.

04/01/2026: A deplorable experience. No greeting upon arrival; we felt like we were intruding the moment we walked in the door. The staff practically brushed us off, with a haughty and unpleasant attitude. Zero sense of hospitality, zero respect for the customer. Frankly, it doesn't even deserve one star. Avoid at all costs.

21/12/2025: Breakfast for 10 euros including "a slice of bread" served with warmed-over sliced ​​bread 🤣 When I specified that I would prefer bread and asked if they were out, the bartender replied, "No, it says 'toast' on the menu." In France, in traditional French bistros, a slice of bread is made with a baguette, and if you want to be completely American, you might as well use peanut butter instead of the cheapest jam. It's frankly not up to the image of French restaurants, and it's really sad.

22/12/2025: Yesterday, December 22, 2025, I had lunch at this McDonald's. The floor was so greasy, and indeed poorly cleaned, that it was dangerous to move around. The managers, to protect themselves legally, had installed floor signs saying "Caution: Slippery Floor." The truth is, they said, "Be careful, we don't know how to clean the tiles here." The worst part is that if a child runs or an elderly person slips, they're protected by the law. 😡👎

21/11/2024: Il y en a marre de ces restaurants qui vous proposent une salade césar qui n'en est pas une ! En plus des ingrédients qui compose cette célèbre salade c'est surtout la sauce qui fait tout ==> à base de parmesan râpé, huile d'olive, pâte d'anchois, ail, vinaigre de vin, moutarde, jaune d'œuf et sauce Worcestershire. J'ai eu un vague assemblage de crudités avec du poulet pané mais surtout avec une sauce industrielle... Beurk

11/11/2024: Bonne brasserie où nous nous sommes retrouvés en famille avec un nouveau né. Les serveur ont eu un accueil chaleureux et à nos petits soins notamment sur notre installation à l’étage avec la poussette, où nous avons été plus au calme. Au niveau des plats, rien à dire, c’était très bon, même si ça reste un budget + pour nous mais on sait à quoi s’attendre quand on arrive en bord de mer dans le PACA ! 😉
