28/02/2026: We were passing through Porte-de-Savoie and ate at Le Gabelous. What a pleasant surprise! We ordered pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed them; they were absolutely delicious. The ingredients are high quality and the flavors are spot on. A big thank you to our very pleasant and smiling waitress, as well as to the equally welcoming manager. We highly recommend it and will gladly return! 🍕😊

23/06/2026: Lovely little beach in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche! On Wednesday evenings—from June through September—there are several food trucks and tables here for a fun evening of French conviviality!

19/07/2026: Excellent value for money; I'm very surprised by some of the reviews. Let's not forget that this is a 2-star hotel. This is the second year we've stopped here on our way to our holiday destination. The breakfast is plentiful. The family double room is spacious enough for a family of four.

01/07/2026: We came for a drink, and on the advice of one of the waitresses, we ordered a platter which we highly recommend! The two waitresses were pleasant and smiling, while the waiter was cold, which was almost unpleasant – the only downside to this little getaway.

24/06/2026: The little place has lost its identity; no more conviviality, no more friendly and approachable servers, just the feeling of being a nuisance. So I'm changing venues to rediscover the pleasure of having a drink with friends.

31/05/2026: I stayed at this hotel on May 30, 2026, a day of extreme heat. It was impossible to lower the air conditioning in the room below 30°C because the system is outdated, with three click-button zones and a manual thermostat that isn't even electronic. Furthermore, there was only one bottle of water, and it wasn't cold, for two people on a sweltering day, for a room costing €124. I find this very stingy. I reported these two issues to the staff, who told us, "Sorry, there's nothing I can do." A better response would perhaps be appropriate, given the price and the standard that a Mercure hotel should normally offer, from a national perspective. This establishment tarnishes, and does nothing to improve, the reputation of the Mercure group.

20/05/2026: We visited Paris for the first time and stayed in Montmartre. We found La Fourmi accidentally on a chilly day. Fantastic restaurant! The plat du jour was osso buco - it was delicious. Our server - Dorion - was excellent - a lovely young man who was polite, pleasant and attentive. Between the food, the service and the very cool atmosphere, we decided we'd have to go back. The next time we had the steak tartare - omg - so, so good. The place was jumping and the servers - especially Dorion and the bartender - worked their butts off! They were incredible to watch. I definitely recommend this restaurant - bon appetit!

24/05/2026: This old hotel has retained its charm. However, it could use some restoration in certain areas (crooked stairs, faded paint in a few places, and worn carpets). It would be nice to offer the following in the rooms: a USB port, a bottle of water in the suites, chocolates in the evening when guests turn down for the night, etc. Small details, but they make all the difference. We had no hot water one evening. After mentioning the problem to reception, no one called us back. We tested the water again later, and it was working. A call to let us know it was being repaired would have been appropriate. The staff is efficient and dedicated. The hotel is very well located, and everything is within walking distance. The town is charming. I recommend this place.

21/04/2026: We tried the restaurant because of its location but weren't very impressed. The service was a bit slow. There were a lot of unnecessary trips. Small menus are usually a good sign, but here there were very few choices. The food wasn't very exciting either.

29/06/2026: We had dinner with two young children. A very rare thing in a restaurant, and truly wonderful, was that there was no children's menu; the children ate like the adults, albeit in smaller portions. We had a lovely time, the food was excellent, and the setting was fantastic.

21/05/2026: A wonderful discovery! The terrace is fantastic and the welcome was incredibly warm. The waitress was just so friendly. The food was delicious. For a village, the salads were a bit pricey, I think—a little more expensive than in Strasbourg. But it was good.

27/05/2026: Arriving after the kitchen had closed for lunch, we were warmly and kindly welcomed by the owner. We had a very good meal, and the prices were very reasonable considering the homemade food and quality ingredients. Not to mention the friendly owners.
