28/05/2026: We stopped in Blois between visiting Loire Valley castles for lunch and were fortunate that our tour guide recommended Poivre et Sel. What a great find. The charming outdoor patio was a perfect lunch setting, and the salads we ordered were absolutely delicious - rich, fresh, and very satisfying, especially paired with an excellent Belgian Trappist beer. Dessert was superb, and honestly, it was the best lunch I had during the entire week. Service was friendly, unpretentious, fast, and flawless. Highly recommended if you happen to be in Blois.

19/07/2026: Before visiting the castle, we had lunch here on the very pleasant terrace under the trees. The fish and chips were beautifully presented and excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

13/05/2026: I frequent this bar regularly and have always been warmly welcomed, with pleasant service and a friendly atmosphere, thanks in particular to the gentleman behind the counter who is always smiling and professional. However, on my last visit, there was a woman behind the counter, and the welcome was very disappointing. Her manner of speaking clearly lacked any sense of customer service and made me so uncomfortable that I lost my appetite and left.

19/07/2026: A historic brasserie in Old Lille—they even sell a book commemorating its 100th anniversary at the entrance. The pros and cons of this kind of place. Superb decor. Waiters who perform with a smile. The food is a bit pricey, especially the wines, but it's good, featuring classic northern dishes: shrimp croquettes, Welsh rarebit with fries, and crêpes flambéed with Grand Marnier tableside. Touristy but good. That's what you come for.

04/07/2026: The place is nice. The food isn't bad, but it's overpriced for tiny portions. The service is poor; the waitresses are absent, and we had to ask for the same things several times. Very disappointing.

14/07/2026: Hello, we came around noon on July 14th and ordered two Caesar wraps and two pastries. The wraps were a bit small for the price, but very tasty. The pastries weren't anything special, probably not fresh (defrosted the day before, most likely). The most annoying thing was the almost empty dining area. The staff seemed completely unresponsive (four of them were chatting in a circle behind the counter), yet not a single clean table! We spent about 35 minutes there and nothing happened. When we left, we clearly said "goodbye," but they were so engrossed in their fascinating conversation that they didn't respond. Perhaps they were having a day without a manager, but a little reprimand would be appreciated. Have a good day.

11/07/2026: Cold, unmotivated, unfocused salespeople with no smiles. They forgot to ask if I wanted a hot or cold slice and forgot to charge me for the baguette initially.

19/06/2026: Absolutely avoid this place, even if you have to! A disastrous experience from start to finish, with appalling service, an interminable wait, and disgusting food that gave me food poisoning. You'd be much better off walking a few more meters to find a decent restaurant.

27/06/2026: Great relocation on the charging Rue Suquet, which adds to the atmosphere. My experience dining here was so-so. The food was fine but the service was poor. Our waiter repeatedly checked with us on the details of our order (even though he wrote them down twice). Despite this checking we didn't have two items delivered. The restaurant should have better service at this price point.

20/07/2026: The food is good, no problem there. However, there are serious safety issues concerning children under 1.20m tall. My grandson hit his head on the corner of the high-top counter and suffered a 2cm gash on his scalp. The owner's response was, "It's not my fault, children must remain seated at the table, I won't do any work to round off the corners of the counter." Throughout the entire service, no one came to ask about my grandson. I find this appalling. So please be very careful with your children in this establishment. I won't be returning, which is a shame because the menu is nice.

18/07/2026: We dined at this restaurant for the second time, and unfortunately, the experience was very shocking. Our 5-year-old son got up from the table for a few seconds to join his father. The restaurant has high tables with very sharp corners, at a child's head height. He hit one of these corners hard and fractured his skull. He was bleeding profusely and screaming in pain. I had to ask for ice myself to soothe his pain. Throughout the entire incident, no server came to check on him or ask if we needed any help. As for the manager, his attitude was even more disappointing: no compassion, no concern, no gesture of help. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to a server, he replied that it wasn't "the first time this had happened." This response is particularly disturbing. As we were leaving the restaurant, my father spoke with the owner. His response was that he wouldn't adjust the angles of his tables and that the children simply had to remain seated and never stand up. We found this reaction deeply contemptuous and utterly lacking in empathy. Accidents can happen anywhere. However, the complete lack of consideration after a 5-year-old child cut their head is, in our opinion, unacceptable. We left extremely disappointed by the reception and the way this situation was handled.

14/07/2026: Disappointing The waiter was pleasant, trying to compensate for the disastrous organization in the kitchen. The wait was very long, and the goat cheese salad was ridiculously small (and clearly pre-packaged). It's a shame because the galettes were good, although they weren't cooked to the requested temperature. I hope that organizational and pricing adjustments will lead to a more pleasant experience for future customers!
