16/10/2025: Traditional, refined, and elegant cuisine. A warm welcome and fairly quick service. Pleasant setting with a view of the cathedral. Located between the old town and the city center. One of the few restaurants in Le Mans open for Sunday lunch, which is a definite plus.

24/05/2026: (RESTAURANT) A huge disappointment. The evening had been planned for months. There were about 20 of us with a pre-arranged set menu. We booked for 7:00 PM and all arrived on time (the two latecomers arrived at 7:10 PM... not bad). The weather was magnificent, sunny, and we sadly discovered that our table had been awkwardly squeezed into the cellar, with BFM TV playing in the background (?) and no background music, nothing... We asked if we could be seated outside (both to get some fresh air and to make things easier for the staff), but it wasn't possible because "it's a table for tomorrow, so it's a no" (second time??). The staff was understaffed. We understand, we're patient, and above all, we don't blame them. An hour after our arrival, we still hadn't received an aperitif… it was a long time, sitting at a table in a cellar for an hour without even a carafe of water. The meal went a little better; the appetizers and main courses followed each other fairly well. But we felt neglected, having to go back and forth between the cellar and the dining room to ask to be served several times… in the end, 40 minutes after dessert, no one had offered us coffee or come to ask if we wanted to pay; no one seemed concerned about how things were going. We'll definitely remember the bad. 7:00 PM to 11:45 PM is really a very long time. A shame. What redeemed everything, because there were a few positive aspects: - the quality of the food: we can't say we ate badly; that would be a lie. Excellent cuisine. - The attitude of the extra waiter, there to help: he didn't let it get to him, did everything he could to make up for it, and even managed to smile despite the difficulties. He put in a tremendous effort, which was very kind. Thank you to him. Unfortunately, he disappeared mid-service, and the remaining staff weren't as pleasant. - The kitchen/dining room teamwork: the staff was struggling, we all know how that feels, but they didn't give up, and one of the cooks bravely stepped up to help out – much appreciated. We did everything we could to be pleasant; being in the business, we know the pressures of a busy schedule—it can be incredibly intense. We even cleared the plates ourselves and placed them on the side tables to make things easier for the servers (whom we unfortunately didn't see much of)... but relegating a table of 20 to the back of a cellar under the pretext that the next day's setup is already complete in weather like this, and consequently (of course) forgetting the customers who have to run back and forth to avoid being forgotten, is unacceptable, especially considering we booked the evening months in advance. Fortunately, we were in good company and still had a pleasant evening together. Unfortunately, the nonchalance of the person present at checkout and the lack of consideration (none of the "regular" staff even asked us how we were) mean we don't feel like leaving a good review.

19/05/2026: I only visited the restaurant; the home-style cooking was very affordable, and I will definitely go back.

07/06/2026: Refused to turn up the A/C when it was 90* and room was on the west side of building. Staff was rude and lied about the ability to adjust the temperature- one of the staff admitted it to me. Room was clean- location near transportation.

06/04/2026: The bedding was adequate, but there was no soundproofing whatsoever; we could hear doors slamming until late in the evening, the sounds of conversations from neighboring rooms, the toilets, etc. The decor was very dated, stuck in the 80s/90s, and the bathroom could be cleaner. The water temperature was difficult to regulate. Breakfast was decent but basic; €48 when booking for 4 people, but ultimately charged at €52.

05/03/2026: An authentic establishment. High-quality food, fresh and beautifully presented products. The welcome and staff are beyond reproach. A reputable establishment. A truly authentic address.

03/06/2026: Very disappointing for a four star hotel, do not recommend. Room is fine, but assigned to a room with no shower, just a tub! Furthermore, there is a ring of mold around the tub. No flexibility to change rooms. A/C barely working and Wifi is in and out. Pretty disappointing.

01/06/2026: Had a nice visit here. The rooms are simple but clean and practical. The whole building is an older inn so don’t expect fancy trappings but it’s a nice place nonetheless. Was arriving a bit late but the staff were happy to host us in the restaurant. The food was tasty and with a bunch of locally sourced vegetables and meats. The breakfast was fairly simple, not a huge selection, but the tables were neatly set, there were some croissants and jams, some cereals and coffee and juice. The ambiance of the whole place was relaxed, so nothing formal, no attempts to act overly fancy, or overly service oriented but also down to earth, happy to chat a bit and ensure needs were met. I’d happily return.

17/05/2026: A woman (smoking outside in an apron, to illustrate the point) who raises her eyes when you ask a question—you wouldn't guess there's an outside area behind her! A little kindness and a smile are free and can pay off big time; in this case, we turned around and left. What a shame...

04/06/2026: A truly delightful experience and an excellent meal; no matter the dish, it was a treat. The quality and price are well-deserved because, in addition to the excellent food, there's also the exceptional service, with polite, kind, smiling, and humorous communication. I highly recommend Le Chiquito.

28/07/2026: Permanently closed since June 2026, perhaps someone else will take it over later? It was a well-located, lively, and welcoming family restaurant 👍🏻 We hope to be able to enjoy the place again!

11/03/2026: A very nice little restaurant in the town of Couëron. It is indeed a bit noisy, but the food and service were excellent. One small suggestion for improvement: a website where you can see the menu or daily specials would be a plus, to avoid having to use Facebook.

29/06/2026: A little discovery on the way to Rennes. The setting isn't amazing, but the small terrace is very pleasant, tucked away from the parking lot. The food is excellent and the welcome is very warm. The owner makes lovely little pieces of jewelry (I bought a pretty brooch). This adds to her charm. It's a must-stop if you're passing through Liffre. Definitely worth a visit.

16/05/2026: Always excellent! The service was very pleasant, friendly, and quick. The set menu was €16 (starter, main course, dessert) and was perfect. We come very regularly. Congratulations, keep up the good work!

12/05/2026: We received a very poor welcome; we felt like we were bothering them. The owners were extremely rude when it came time to pay, as they would have preferred cash. We were subjected to a barrage of derogatory remarks about "young people arriving without wallets" (we're both 50 years old!). Go spend your money elsewhere; these people are awful! Blaming your customers for a lack of communication skills or a sense of humor is certainly not the best response. Your reply to my comment only confirms my impressions from my last visit.

25/02/2026: I discovered this brasserie by chance and often stopped by for sandwiches at lunchtime. It's quick and very good, but be careful with the ordering; there are a lot of mistakes…

17/06/2026: Brasserie and tobacconist in Montsoreau. Very friendly, summer and winter. Since the beginning of June, it's under new ownership. Every lunchtime from Monday to Saturday, you can have lunch on the terrace or inside; on Sundays, only charcuterie boards are available!

17/06/2026: A truly awful experience. I'm absolutely shocked. First, the service was incredibly cold, and they seemed to be bothering me if I asked a simple question. Second, avoid the cocktails, especially the mojito (which, oddly enough, is number 2 on the menu). It had no flavor whatsoever; it was just sparkling water and ice cubes with barely any aftertaste of lime/mint/alcohol, and that was just enough to say it had any taste at all. When I politely asked if it would be possible to have a small slice of lime extra because "I really like lime" (instead of being critical), the waiter/bartender said, "We followed the recipe, it's the right amount, there's nothing we can do." Excuse me? A completely unpleasant attitude. I could have even paid the extra, but they were completely unwilling to accommodate me. And on top of that, it cost €7.50 for a tasteless drink. Absolutely ridiculous. The terrace and location seemed really nice, but the service and quality are truly deplorable.
