16/04/2026: It appears this hotel is now closed. I was notified on 13th March 2026 that the owner had died suddenly, which is very sad to hear. The website is still up, but you can't book any dates. I had a booking in April and the hotel had taken 50% deposit of the fees from me. They have said they will refund me, but it has never arrived, so on 3rd April 2026, after contacting them again, they said it would arrive "soon," but I think 'soon' appears to be a flexible concept. Time to contact my credit card company.

04/05/2025: By far the best pizzas I've ever eaten; I go there regularly. They're quick and inexpensive! I tried two other pizzerias in Le Muy because this one was closed, but I'll never make that mistake again.

02/08/2026: We returned yesterday after a bad experience two years ago... same story... the waitress (no greeting) I asked if we could have a drink... the response... just a drink? No food? I replied, not for now, maybe later... then she seated us at the very back, we couldn't see anything... she asked us to move to a table next to each other, and after 15 minutes there was still no one to serve us, while she was seating those who came to eat. As a result, just like two years ago, we went to the restaurant across the street... where we were greeted with a smile, so we stayed to eat... it's a shame... you should know that we're from Carcassonne and we also come in the winter when it's less crowded... anyway, that's it, no good publicity will be given and I'll never set foot in there again... I'll spend my money elsewhere...

19/07/2026: The service was not good. Firstly it was very long, but I’ll blame it on the restaurant being full. But most importantly, we were two and the little entrance of the menu came at the same time as my main dish. When his main dish arrived, I had finished eating for a while. So we were pretty much looking at each other eat our lunch… didn’t make any sense. Anyway, the food was okay and the place is cute.

05/07/2026: Excellent service and expertly prepared cuisine. I recommend it. A nice bonus is the setting and the enormous swimming pool – it's truly impressive!

11/07/2026: Good atmosphere, very good starters and main courses, but a few problems with the desserts… The crème anglaise contained alcohol without being told, so it was sent back to the kitchen to get just the cake without the cream. Live insects were discovered in another dessert, which also went back to the kitchen, but no further action was taken. When we went to pay, we realized we had just been charged for an extra dessert without being informed. We asked for an explanation and a refund for the extra dessert (which we paid for nothing), and the owner threw us out, insulting us and telling us not to come back (the height of absurdity, as we weren't planning on returning). I wonder if the owner would be so quick to speak to someone of his own stature :) Hats off to the waitresses, they're fantastic!

11/07/2026: The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We found an ant and another small brown creature, still alive, in the same dessert. We reported it, but the owner did nothing about it. Be aware that the custard is heavily alcoholic, and this is not indicated on the bill. The owner is extremely unpleasant, even calling us homeless. We asked for even the smallest gesture of goodwill (he charged us for an extra dessert on the bill).

01/06/2026: Stayed for two nights. Refrigerator available. Even a kitchen set. Breakfast was adequate.

28/05/2026: Your hotel is extremely dirty. The staff are incredibly disrespectful and rude. We are never allowed to take our food home, and they search our bags, which they absolutely have no right to do. There were only ten minutes left before breakfast, and they refused us entry, instead leading the other members of our group into the dining room. I am very dissatisfied.

05/07/2026: What a wonderful surprise! We came for lunch today and what a surprise it was! The menu was delicious, from the beggar's purse to the "Semons" salad, and the pork chop was of fabulous quality! The desserts were very good, although the soft-baked cookie was perhaps a little overcooked! But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We will gladly return.

01/05/2026: We stopped for lunch on our way to the Verdon Gorge and it was a wonderful surprise. A delicious lunch with an Argentinian touch, prepared by the charming couple who run the hotel. We wish we could have stayed longer…

15/07/2026: A takeaway pizza sold at a much higher price than advertised in the restaurant's flyer. The cheese and anchovy takeaway pizzas were initially listed at €38, but were reduced to €32 because they were for takeaway... a basic pizza costs around €16. It's really undeserved for the price of the pizza! Avoid this place... I contacted them before posting this review, but haven't received a response. Good luck to anyone who gets charged like me this summer... the pizza truck in Taillas is better and reasonably priced... unlike the one in Saint-Tropez on Champsaur! P.S.: I have an apartment here and have been going to Ancelle for over 40 years.

11/07/2026: We were disappointed with our meal last night. The menu on the website doesn't match the one in the restaurant at all (nor do the prices). You should update your website to avoid unpleasant surprises. The meal was okay, but nothing special.

25/05/2026: We had lunch on the terrace; the service was friendly and quick. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the andouillette! Good value for money.

17/05/2026: We ate there in the evening; the waitresses were great, and the welcome was pleasant. We ate well.

30/04/2026: Today, we went to a restaurant with my 4-year-old daughter for a little girls' night out. We arrived at 12:08 PM. We immediately placed our order, and I explained that we needed our food quickly, as my daughter had to go back to school. I was told, "Yes, no problem, we'll pass it on to the chef." Forty minutes later, we still hadn't received our meals. The flank steak and a child's hamburger were cooked well. It shouldn't take 40 minutes to cook those. I asked for our food again, which was brought to us barely a minute or two later. A waitress had the nerve to tell me, "Avoid asking for well-done meat when you're in a hurry." I reminded everyone that my daughter is 4 years old; she needs to eat well-cooked meat to avoid ingesting any bacteria! And at what point do they make comments like that 40 minutes after we arrived? We weren't allowed to have our meat cooked to our liking? We had an hour to eat, but we had to eat in 15 minutes—great for a 4-year-old! Then... I asked four times after my pepper sauce was brought to me once I'd finished my plate. What's the logic in that? Very disappointed with the service, you can be sure we won't be back.

16/04/2026: Excellent welcome, pleasant waitress, very good service, you get your money's worth, reasonable price, such a generous portion that it was impossible to have dessert (appetizer platter + main course) 🤗 I recommend it!

23/05/2026: I highly recommend this restaurant!! We arrived at 1:50 pm knowing the restaurant closed at 2 pm and were welcomed. The dishes were truly delicious!! The desserts were excellent too!! The service was impeccable and friendly!! Our little dog was also welcome on the terrace and was given a bowl of water :) Thank you so much for this experience!

11/07/2026: The staff were incredibly kind. We ordered the sweet breakfast selection. The croissant was made with the lightest pastry, the crusty bread with butter and jam, and the delicious chocolate cake. Definitely worth a try.

09/07/2026: Restaurant with good food, fast service, and an excellent location. The food is indeed tasty and it's a good option when visiting Orange.

07/07/2026: You arrive 45 minutes before the show at the ancient theater to get an ice cream on the terrace, and the waiter tells you, "I don't have ice cream!" We left immediately. Absolutely avoid this place! They're about as much a restaurant owner as I am a plumber, and this is a salesman talking to you...
