25/10/2026: There were four of us, and we ordered two meat dishes and two pizzas... Nothing complicated. Our aperitifs were served relatively quickly, but after an hour, no main courses arrived. Seeing our irritation, the waitress finally told us after 45 minutes that our food would be coming, without any real explanation. Our neighbors at the next table, who arrived after us, had time to drink their aperitifs, eat their starters, and get their main courses, while we still hadn't received ours, which we had ordered an hour earlier. The owner, who was supposed to be making and overseeing the pizzas, was glued to his phone at the counter. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. No apology. The waitress simply told us it wasn't her fault, and the owner, on his phone, told us he'd had a problem with the oven... A disgrace! We ended up at McDonald's. We strongly advise against going there. What a shame.

11/09/2026: It's lovely to see old-fashioned restaurants where people cook everything themselves and serve you with a smile; I recommend it 100%.

23/05/2026: Peaceful and quiet, away from the noise of the city center. The staff is competent and incredibly welcoming, responding to every request. The room is clean, and the restaurant/bar is great. The pool and jacuzzi are truly lovely for relaxing. I highly recommend it. 😊

11/05/2026: We just ate at the restaurant for the third time this year for birthdays. Very good value for money, but please consider changing the hot dishes for the customers. And the bread – could you make something other than these mini long rolls, if you can even call them bread?

28/10/2026: The food was good. It's a shame we weren't offered a choice of side dishes: fried veal kidney, the next table had veal kidney with spaetzle. There was no gesture of goodwill towards the person celebrating their birthday. A coffee... a candle... (I heard the waiter say to his colleague, ironically, "They said, 'Oh, it's their birthday'") would have made us want to come back.

25/10/2026: We arrived around 2 PM. At 2:45 PM our order (2 drinks) still hadn't been taken… it seems these restaurant owners are rolling in money even during a crisis, since they don't care about their customers :) The waitress was very unfriendly. In short, a truly awful place.

14/09/2026: First of all, hello, I hesitated for a long time before leaving my review, especially since the group I ate with at your establishment had already posted a comment. After some thought, however, I feel it's important to share my experience so that future customers can form their own opinion. There were nine of us. The welcome was fairly basic, but nothing particularly noteworthy in that regard. When it came time to order, I decided to get a bottle of white wine, a Sauvignon Blanc. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was actually wine served from a carafe, taken from a box. In my opinion, this should be clearly indicated to the customer when ordering. Now, on to my dish: mussels and fries. I honestly don't think I've ever eaten such bland mussels. Their quality left me very perplexed, and afterwards, I also experienced significant stomach pain. I obviously can't say for sure that it was directly related to the meal, but this experience was definitely not reassuring. As for the fries, they seemed to be frozen. Nothing exceptional there either. After this experience, we decided not to order the desserts, even though they were included in the set menu. When it came time to pay, the manager asked me how the meal was. I explained that I hadn't enjoyed the mussels and also expressed my disappointment with the wine. His reaction? A simple nod, without trying to understand what was wrong and without offering any compensation. Once I had left the establishment, when I was no longer in front of him, he had the nerve to say, "To each their own!" Very well, to each their own. But when nine people come to eat and none seem satisfied with the various dishes they eat, and no one orders dessert despite it being included in the set menu, perhaps it would be worthwhile to re-evaluate their approach rather than simply dismissing it as a matter of taste. I am therefore leaving this review so that future customers know what to expect and, above all, so that our comments are taken into consideration this time. I sincerely hope that this establishment will improve the quality of its products, the transparency regarding what is served, and especially the attention it pays to its customers. For my part, this experience makes me absolutely not want to return. Best of luck.

12/09/2026: Very disappointed by this experience. The mussels seemed frozen or, at the very least, were extremely dry and overcooked. The fries were unfortunately no better. Add to that a long wait for a frankly disappointing result. We had chosen a €21.50 set menu including mussels, fries, and dessert. Disappointed with the entire meal, we decided not to order dessert. However, no compensation was offered. The most regrettable thing was the overheard comment: "To each their own." While tastes are certainly subjective, the cooking, the quality of the ingredients, and the wait are considerably less so… A €21.50 set menu that, in our case, was unfortunately not worth it.

14/09/2026: My partner and I had a wonderful time. The staff were very welcoming, the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious and indulgent. I highly recommend it.

06/09/2026: Calamari fritters without calamari? Replaced by a white, gelatinous batter.

04/10/2026: I have to say, the cheese pizza, the pan bagnat, and the Black Forest cake—I give you a 20 out of 20! Truly incredible, the taste and flavors were absolutely amazing. Thank you so much! I only come on weekends. I'm from Marseille. You guys are the best.

12/07/2026: We had the worst experience here ever!! - Completely raw and bloody steaks - Brandt Cordon Bleu - Partially raw potatoes - Wet soft mushrooms and old vegetables - Completely warm white wine - Crying baby in the front kitchen - Barking dog and traffic noise I would not recommend the place to anyone. We all fear an upset stomach

18/06/2026: We dined here this evening and were delighted with both the food and the entire team. The marrow bones I had as an appetizer were excellent. The salad with shrimp and scallops was equally superb. The kidneys were also very good and, as they should be, beautifully pink inside. The Ile Flotante for dessert was also excellent. We'll be back. Update June 18, 2026 Everything was excellent again today, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

12/10/2026: This is the first time I’ve come across a Café Frappé in France that is served without milk. The coffee wasn’t even strong, it was very weak and tasted as if it had been made with instant coffee. On top of that, I was given a dirty spoon (visible in the photo). I think €8 for a coffee of such poor quality is absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn’t recommend ordering coffee here, as the quality is simply disappointing. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and pleasant.

17/10/2026: Marie Jean in Sète completely won us over. The exceptionally friendly, attentive, and warm staff deserves special mention; they created a pleasant atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The fish dishes were superbly prepared, fresh, and bursting with flavor. It's immediately apparent that great emphasis is placed on quality and excellent cuisine. Families with children are also very welcome here. Children receive a warm welcome, making the restaurant visit particularly relaxing for the whole family. All in all, we enjoyed wonderful evenings with excellent food, friendly service, and a fantastic, inviting atmosphere. We will definitely return and wholeheartedly recommend Marie Jean!

04/10/2026: The setting is lovely, a little corner of the garden perfect for lunch. The €39 set menu was excellent value for money. Fresh and flavorful.

02/10/2026: It had been a very long time since I'd been so disappointed by a restaurant. I'm not questioning the price of the dish, which was exorbitant, but the quality of the food, which was appalling. A lobster ravioli with hard, thick pasta to enclose a tiny portion of lobster is pathetic, and to top it off, it had absolutely no flavor. Then there was the breaded sweetbreads dipped in frying oil—I wouldn't call that "breaded sweetbreads." Breaded sweetbreads should have been fried in butter. When I asked the waitress (who didn't even know the ingredients of the six measly dishes on the menu) if we could see the chef, if we could meet the owner, whose first name she only knew… Dominique… she replied that it wasn't her problem, that she'd only been there for a month, that the restaurant was closing permanently on October 18th, and that she didn't care about any of it but would pass it along. Again, I'd never received such a nonsensical response. Fortunately, there's no shortage of good restaurants in Noirmoutier and true professionals. I forgot to mention that I've been to several restaurants, and seeing a restaurateur behave this way is a disgrace to our profession. There's nothing more to add except… never set foot in that place. It cost us €180 for two people, including one starter, one main course each, and a bottle of wine. The menu is minimalist, so the dishes should normally be perfectly executed, but we're far from it! They must have had a Bib Gourmand before this new chef, otherwise it's impossible!

06/05/2026: Usually everything goes smoothly, but this time I arrived in the room and the blind wasn't working. The room hadn't even been checked before being rented. I was forced to stay in a room where I couldn't see outside. The receptionist seemed like she was just going through the motions, not at all friendly. They didn't even offer to change rooms or anything. Really disappointed this time.

04/05/2026: Garbage hotel A disgrace! I can't believe such a filthy hotel exists. We stayed for two days, and what we saw was unacceptable. First, the staff: a certain Magali, always on her phone, sitting on the terrace smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee after coffee while guests wait at reception—a disgrace! Christelle, whom I believe to be the manager, between bites at breakfast, talks to guests while picking at the buffet as if she were a customer herself. When you're there to help your colleagues who have just arrived, at least wash your hands before touching the food with your bare hands when there are tongs available. As for the room, we were on the first floor, overlooking the lawn. There were condoms in the trees, underwear, and many other equally disgusting things... a musty smell and stale tobacco, not to mention the outdated furnishings, all punctuated by the clicking of our downstairs neighbor's heels and her numerous encounters—five men in one hour and fifteen minutes. Absolutely avoid this place!

25/04/2026: A very warm welcome upon arrival. The rooms are spacious and the establishment has a lot of charm. The staff are pleasant and attentive. Special mention goes to the restaurant: refined cuisine, prepared with seasonal produce, which is definitely worth a visit.

25/03/2026: The setting in the heart of the countryside, 10 minutes from Niort, is peaceful and relaxing. The restaurant is pleasant and the indoor pool is a nice touch, although a few more sun loungers and a little extra service would be a real plus. The decor in some of the rooms is rather dated and could use a refresh. That said, the staff are always extremely friendly and helpful, finding solutions with a smile.
