Hearty and delicious galettes served simply in a beautifully restored old vaulted room adorned with lovely illustrations of bygone days. I highly recommend this welcoming place, frequented by both locals and visitors alike.

22/02/2026: Old style mountain atmosphere, beautiful secluded setting with great scenery, the food is excellent and portions generous. We had a 12h slow-cooked lacquered pig as main course and it was delicious.
The restaurant is small so few tables and you need to book well in advance on high season
22/02/2026: Our first visit to the refuge and an excellent experience. The walk to the refuge allows you to get some fresh air and experience a "mountain" atmosphere that you don't find in Megève town center. The welcome is excellent, the food simple and delicious (we especially loved the génépi/pear soufflé for dessert). The only risk is that the refuge will become a regular stop on our future trips, but we'll need to book well in advance because it's definitely a place we recommend. See you soon! 🙂

02/02/2026: We've become addicted to your establishment. The only downside I can see is the lack of acceptance of restaurant cards, whereas it was possible last year. Please, make sure they are accepted as soon as possible. Your rating will suffer otherwise, and I would be very sorry about that, as your food is of such high quality.
02/02/2026: What a pleasure to have lunch at the Buffet du Grand Marché! Everything was beautifully presented, fresh, and delicious, from the selection of appetizers to the decadent desserts. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff truly delightful, making the experience even more enjoyable. You immediately feel welcome and at ease.
It's the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed and uncomplicated way. I've been telling everyone about it and I'll definitely be back!

We were also fortunate enough to be served several times by the Chef himself, which made the experience even more special. 15/01/2026: An amuse-bouche, a starter, a second starter, a hearty main course, a gargantuan cheese platter, and a dessert, all paired with a bottle of wine per course (and not just a glass!), €49 per person.
We received a very warm welcome, with smiles and good cheer, despite our (typical) Périgord-style delay of 45 minutes. We ate and drank very well. Highly recommended!

22/02/2026: Very disappointed!! An interminable wait between courses; it took us three hours to eat four very meager dishes! They clearly need at least one more waiter!!
The plates were served without any presentation worthy of a fine dining restaurant. The quality was there, but nothing exceptional....
The setting is very average. The price is excessive considering the quality!!
The "fine dining" label is an exaggeration and undeserved.
