30/11/2024: Edit: after many evenings ah Carolus since this review, I confirm that this bar is great!! I celebrated my 30th birthday at Carolus last Saturday and I had a great evening! Very good experience. I contacted the bar well in advance for this reservation because I wanted to make the evening unforgettable; I had ordered a photo booth and an activity via external service providers and the manager happily accepted! The bar organized a buffet (hot & cold) which we agreed together in advance. The system for ordering drinks in the back room (via a screen) is very well thought out and prevents everyone from spending the evening waiting behind the bar. Overall I got everything I wanted; good communication, everyone was very caring and helpful throughout the organization! Staff & manager(s) VERY friendly and warm; there was a small hiccup with the reservation time but we were compensated for a longer happy hour; knowing, basicly, that the bar is still very affordable! Conclusion I had an excellent evening, as did all my guests!

14/09/2024: Unpretentious and friendly bistro vibe, tasty food and an organic wine list. We had the skate wing which was delicious and then figs in cassis which were also good. Lots of locals so a good buzz even though it was low season.

16/12/2024: It was a suspended moment combining the atmosphere, the setting and of course exceptional cuisine. Only the price often prevents you from enjoying all of this.

10/12/2024: A great taste experience with a mention for the very delicate house cocktail, the scallops cooked to perfection as well as the pigeon. In the background the accompaniment of said pigeon (salsify and truffle with a too discreet taste). Nice surprise with the absolutely delicious hot mont d’or. Desserts at the top. Wine list a little expensive. A great time.

03/01/2025: The service is great, you feel at home. The chef in the kitchen takes great care and prepares the dishes using fresh, seasonal products. There is love on the plates. We want to come back to enjoy the signature seasonal dishes again: truffle burratina, scallops and crème brûlée.

10/12/2024: We can only give this restaurant 5 stars! And if Google offered more I would include more. We went there as a family for my birthday and everything was perfect, the food, the service, the decoration. Original and refined cuisine at an unbeatable price. Efficient, cordial, smiling service from the parking lot to the table 😅 What fault can I find in this restaurant? I'm looking...but I can't see...simply thank you for this good time spent in your establishment, if you read me.

29/09/2024: The website is not explicit about the fact that you do not choose your dishes. The starter and dessert were excellent. The dish was very disappointing: meat not tender enough and winter vegetables. The decor is too cold.

18/09/2024: Best creperie in the bay! We came 4 times this summer and we were never disappointed. The pancakes and pancakes are excellent. The welcome is always very warm. We highly recommend The Roaring Twenties!

08/06/2025: I first came here two years ago, shortly after they opened, and since then it has become my favorite restaurant in Anglet and the surrounding area when I go there! We always enjoy ourselves there, the atmosphere is good, the wine is good, and the service is perfect. I highly recommend it!!

18/01/2025: If I had to recommend a restaurant in Villefranche it would be La Chapelle. This place offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. The service is of impeccable quality. The waitresses are attentive, with particular knowledge of their ranges (wines, cocktails, menu, etc.). From reception, to order taking until payment, we feel their professionalism and kindness. Cooking is a treat! It respects the seasons which is a real plus. Everything is perfect, the flavor combinations, the presentation and the cooking. We feel the love of cooking from appetizers to dessert where Homemade is the key word. Well done to the whole team, thank you for this time spent with you. I will come back!

16/01/2025: The place is nice, the decoration is nice, the waitresses are pleasant, they were able to adapt my dish with the cook so that I didn't have onions (allergy). The dishes are very good! I took away a star because some dauphine potatoes were overcooked for my friends and the lemon baba was too consistent and dry, once re-cut and left to soak, it was better but we expected a better biscuit.

08/12/2024: Room from the Middle Ages just look at the photos, a smell of disgust in the room the TV and very small compared to the room it also dates from the Middle Ages, the breakfast and real criticism compared to hotel chains or lodgings in France, the worst is that you have to look for the person who will set you up to make you an Espresso because the machine is not available to the customer, on the 2nd morning I visited the entire bottom of the hotel with my cup to my but because I wanted just another Espresso but no one was the waitress outside with 2 workers smoking cigarettes. Otherwise the staff is very polite. I haven't tried the restaurant.

30/11/2024: Thank you for a wonderful time spent in this incredible hotel with such incredible decor. The staff is very pleasant. Breakfast offers a very wide choice. Next time we will try the restaurant with one star. A huge THANK YOU
