21/09/2026: The welcome was normal, like in any other restaurant. As for the service, my cutlery wasn't clean, with leftovers from a previous meal on the knife. What disappointed me most was that I ordered a medium-rare steak from Bouchet, and they brought me a piece barely 0.5 cm thick, like a shoe leather…they brought me a well-done piece…tasteless, bland, very disappointed. This restaurant is nothing special; I won't be going back.

22/09/2026: The best canteen in Lyon. A wide selection of starters, excellent daily specials, a great variety of delicious desserts, and a warm welcome. And the best part is that you get all this with cheese, coffee, and lemonade for under €20.

22/09/2026: We arrived at 3 pm. Two meals were brought to guests while we were there, but we were told that the kitchen was closed. What a shame! If opening hours are advertised until 11 pm, there should also be a note about the last time you can eat.

04/10/2026: We had a wonderful time at Hippopotamus with our family! The food was delicious, the service efficient, and above all, the atmosphere was fantastic, making us want to come back. Special mention goes to our waitress, who was incredibly friendly, pleasant, and attentive. You could really tell she loves her job and enjoys welcoming and making customers happy. This kind of attitude makes all the difference in a restaurant experience.

Special mention goes to the perfectly cooked beef and the desserts, which were as beautiful as they were indulgent. The canapés and side dishes were also exquisite. The service was on par with the experience: professional, attentive, and discreet. Exquisite gastronomic cuisine in an elegant and inviting setting. A truly wonderful place for a special dinner. 09/06/2026: We chose to eat inside, but there is a large outside area. Small, friendly atmosphere. Staff / owner smiling and efficient. Limited menu, a big plus for us! We both chose the vol au vent, which were delicious and filling. So we shared a dessert, that was enough for lunch. Well worth a visit!
