03/08/2026: We've been here before and gladly return. There's parking in front of the restaurant. The welcome is very warm. The spacing of the tables in the dining room is a plus, allowing you to chat with your companions without being overwhelmed by noise. As always, the culinary creations, featuring local artisans and producers, honor the region. The dishes are as delicious as they are surprising. A treat for both the eyes and the palate every time. Impeccable, smooth service without being stuffy. The explanations of the dishes and wines were flawless. A perfect evening. Keep up the good work! See you soon!

11/07/2026: Restaurant located just steps from the Museum of Fine Arts. Excellent cuisine and fine wines; it's always a pleasure to return to Le Chantecler. They offer a set menu with three options for lunch. The food is of exceptional quality: all the senses are awakened upon the arrival of the dishes (sight, taste, and smell...). The welcome and service are also excellent!

06/08/2026: A small restaurant near the harbor – but with a rather big story behind it. The owner, in his late 30s, spent ten months cycling along the borders of France. He apparently not only racked up some serious mileage, but also a wealth of culinary inspiration. His journey resulted in 50 recipes for his own cookbook. It was clear then that this wasn't just any old place. We started with a delicious gazpacho, followed by truly excellent main courses. So good, in fact, that suddenly our neighbors' plates became quite interesting. Luckily, we all agreed that sharing wasn't stealing in this case. Anyone visiting Cherbourg should definitely check out this small, intimate restaurant in addition to the classic seafood restaurants. A fascinating story, a friendly host, and food that piques your curiosity. Highly recommended!

The setting is warm and intimate, with only a few tables, which truly gives the impression of being welcomed into someone's home rather than a restaurant. You immediately feel at ease. On the plate, everything is perfectly executed: fresh ingredients, surprising yet always spot-on flavor combinations, and impeccable execution, from cooking to preparation and presentation. A special mention goes to the celery ice cream, which was absolutely exceptional… (I dreamt about it the night after dinner!). The chef is fascinating to listen to. Inspired by his travels, he makes absolutely everything himself, and the result is truly flawless. You can feel his creativity, precision, and passion in every dish. An address we recommend without hesitation and where we will return with great pleasure.

Inspired and passionate cuisine with notes that are sometimes subtle, sometimes powerful, often surprising, and always (very) delicious! Attention to detail, quality of ingredients, execution, presentation, an absolutely relaxing atmosphere with soothing green walls, and a warm welcome from Laurent... I have nothing but superlatives, as each visit is an exceptional experience. I've been twice with friends and once with my wife, and each time it's been flawless – a consistency rare enough to be worth mentioning. I would be delighted to bring colleagues or clients if the opportunity arises. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return as soon as possible!
