04/08/2026: After ten years of trying to get a table at Toya during my visits to my parents' house, I finally had the chance to dine there on July 23rd. The wait was more than worth it! From the moment I arrived, everything was in place for a truly wonderful experience. The welcome was warm, the service highly professional, yet friendly, attentive, and discreet. The tableware, glassware, and overall presentation were exquisite and contributed significantly to the enjoyment of the meal. The cuisine was remarkable, with elegant presentation, perfectly balanced flavors, and a genuine sensory experience. In my opinion, this restaurant richly deserves its Michelin star. My only comment was that the dining room was very noisy. The restaurant was full despite having very few tables. Better soundproofing would make a real difference. As I left, I thought it was incredible that I had found such a gem just five kilometers from my parents' house and hadn't managed to go there sooner. Better late than never! A wonderful discovery that I recommend without hesitation.

14/09/2026: A wonderful discovery! The restaurant's decor has been carefully curated for 40 years thanks to the passion of the owner, Jacquot, who has been collecting antiques for years. The food is excellent, homemade, and the presentation of the dishes is also very well done. The choice of background music is also excellent. The couple who run the restaurant are incredibly friendly, kind, and open, always ready to share anecdotes about the restaurant and the different dishes. The after-dinner drinks are also homemade and very tasty. Everything is done to ensure your comfort, so it's easy to say that we will return with great pleasure. Thank you so much to Jacquot and Roya! For those lucky enough to go, remember to bring cash as they don't accept credit cards.

13/07/2026: I absolutely loved this restaurant: the dishes are delicious, generous, and beautifully presented, with a small but regular menu (burgers, salads, etc.) as well as two set menus (vegetarian and classic – you can also mix and match). Everything seems homemade with seasonal ingredients. You can eat very well for a reasonable price. The service is pleasant, the atmosphere is calm, friendly, and tastefully decorated (with a lovely terrace in the summer). In short, everything you'd expect from a restaurant that isn't a chain.

For many years, they ran Le Fanfaron, in the Révolution district. An iconic eatery, just the way we like them: generous, flavorful, indulgent cuisine, with a touch of warmth… but above all, a place where you felt good. You discovered a thousand and one flavors there, you ran into regulars, you met up with friends… And for my children and me, it became a bit like our family canteen. ❤️ You know, those places where you don't just have memories on your plate, but also memories of life. So naturally, when Christine and Lilian decided to write a new chapter in their story by taking over Le Bistrot des Arènes, just steps from the Nîmes Arena, I wanted to follow this new adventure. And what do I particularly like about it? They haven't tried to become someone else. They've stayed true to themselves. Generous cuisine. Fresh produce. Local ingredients. Short supply chains. Local producers. And above all, that authenticity that's part of their DNA. But because their story doesn't end in Nîmes… 😉 They've also slipped a little piece of my Drôme region into their Nîmes cuisine. ❤️ Two dishes showcase our famous ravioli from Romans-sur-Isère. So naturally, when you're from the Drôme region and you find a little piece of home amidst all these flavors… 👉 It can't help but tantalize the palate and taste buds! 😂 And ultimately, I think that's precisely what makes them successful. Christine and Lilian have crafted their menu based on their own story. On their experiences. On their encounters. On their roots. On their desires. And it shows. Because great cuisine, like a great adventure, doesn't need to be like everyone else's. It simply needs to reflect the people who create it. This new adventure began a few months ago… So today, I simply wanted to tell them: Well done, Christine.
