While there's no air conditioning, the warm welcome, the lake view, and the absolute tranquility more than make up for it!
15/05/2026: It's a charming hotel and restaurant. Old-fashioned, like being at home.
Impeccably clean, with a wonderful welcome and excellent food. Yes, the rooms could be more modern, but they would lose their charm. They wouldn't have the uneven terracotta floor tiles. And the charm would be gone. Don't be put off by the facade; it doesn't reflect the hidden gem within.

08/05/2026: Yesterday, my husband and I went to a restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Everything was delicious. But when we got home, I had diarrhea and vomited all night. My husband did too. We can't go out today. I'm very disappointed with the meal.
26/04/2026: Excellent lunch on the lovely sunny terrace of La CAGOUILLE. The starters and main courses were exquisite and beautifully presented. The welcome was warm and attentive. A nice touch was the little shells served as an aperitif, which were always a welcome treat.
Highly recommended.

17/04/2026: Tastefully decorated like a mountain cabin, the couple who run it make a great team. He's behind the bar and serving, and she's in the kitchen and assisting the staff. The food is good, both the meat and the cheese dishes.
16/04/2026: The staff at this establishment are superb; the owners are wonderful people—very welcoming, pleasant, and always smiling. Whether in the restaurant or the bar, everything is fantastic.

I discovered the generously portioned charcuterie platter and the fish, cooked with passion, worthy of a gourmet restaurant in terms of presentation, taste, and overall quality. My partner savored the incredibly tender meat and fresh vegetables. The service was pleasant and attentive.
We enjoyed lunch in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A big thank you for this wonderful and enjoyable experience; a true delight for our taste buds. I highly recommend it!

30/05/2026: We ordered well-done burgers because we absolutely hate seeing blood on our plates. However, the woman who served us brought us rare flank steak instead.
Out of politeness, I kept the plate until I noticed the meat was still bloody inside. I didn't eat any of it, as I hate that.
When we pointed out the problem at the end of the meal, the reaction was very unpleasant. Instead of acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, I was told that perhaps my foreign accent had caused a misunderstanding.
I found this remark disrespectful. The word "burger" is used everywhere, and I travel a lot; this is the first time I've encountered this kind of situation in a restaurant.
The most disappointing thing was the lack of apology and the way we were made to feel responsible for an order error. This experience truly disgusted me and left me with a very bad memory of this establishment. The older woman who served us should perhaps take a notebook, write down the orders, and ask customers to repeat them, because surely there will be other people with an accent who will be hungry for a dish that appeals to them.
I do not recommend this restaurant: the service, the attitude, and the lack of consideration for customers make me not want to return.
30/05/2026: For our lunch, we ordered two well-done burgers, as we don't like our meat rare. However, the waitress brought us two flank steaks.
I immediately pointed out that this wasn't what we had ordered, since we had asked for two burgers. She seemed very surprised and replied that she had thought we meant "two flank steaks."
Since the waitress didn't apologize, didn't offer to change the dishes to what we had ordered, or make any effort to resolve the misunderstanding, we decided to keep the food, out of politeness and to avoid a tense situation. However, we quickly realized that the meat was still rare inside. I personally tried eating the more cooked parts, but it wasn't enough. So, we finally decided to leave the restaurant.
What's particularly regrettable is that at no point, neither at the table nor when paying, did the waitress apologize for this mistake.
When we brought up the issue at the end of the meal, her reaction was particularly unpleasant. She even suggested that the misunderstanding might have been due to my foreign accent. I found this remark completely inappropriate and disrespectful. It's the first time I've ever experienced such a situation in a restaurant. I simply replied that there's a significant difference between the words "burger" and "bavette," which makes such confusion difficult to understand.
Instead of acknowledging her mistake, she feigned surprise that we wanted to leave. She then offered us a discount of €10 by charging us for two burgers instead of the two bavettes we were served. I thanked her for the offer, but explained that even with the discount, the meal was neither what we had ordered nor what we had actually eaten.
I tried to remind her that the mistake wasn't ours, especially since she hadn't even bothered to write down our order. Visibly annoyed, she turned her back on me and went to find the manager.
When explaining the situation to her manager, the waitress presented it as a simple misunderstanding, implying that we bore some responsibility. Then she went back to her shift.
The manager, on the other hand, was calmer and more professional. She apologized for the misunderstanding and confirmed the €10 discount. She referred to it as a simple human error, which I can completely understand. However, what I find less understandable is that after bringing us the wrong order, the waitress immediately assumed it was what we had ordered, without questioning her own understanding, without offering to replace the dishes with the burgers we ordered, and without offering the slightest apology.
I also mentioned to the manager the comment about my foreign accent, but this elicited no particular reaction.
I left this experience deeply disappointed and upset. An order mistake can happen in any establishment. What makes the difference is how it's handled. Here, the most shocking thing isn't the mistake itself, but the complete lack of apology and the way we were made to feel responsible for a fault that wasn't ours.
I won't be returning to this restaurant. If you decide to go anyway, I advise you to clearly enunciate each word of your order, or you risk receiving a different dish than the one you asked for.
I do not recommend this establishment. The service, the waitress's attitude, and the lack of consideration for customers make me absolutely not want to return.

09/04/2026: I never give 5 stars, but I couldn't resist this time. We've been going to this restaurant for several years now and we still love it. It was a real treat again this lunchtime for our wedding anniversary. The setting is lovely, the service impeccable, and the food... mmm, delicious! We can't wait to go back... in a few months (we don't have any special occasions to celebrate before mid-September). A big thank you for this wonderful meal, and see you soon!

05/05/2026: It's silly to try to write a review for a place like that. Everyone's experience is different from anyone else's. Everything depends on chef's mood. But one thing is guaranteed, you will leave with a happy smile on your face. And a substantial dent to your credit card, but that's to be expected for such quality. Wine pairing is next level experience.

The cuisine was flavorful, refined, and generous. The dining room was warm and inviting. The value for money was very reasonable, practically free.
