27/07/2026: That was the best tarte flambée and one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. The "trio dessert" with espresso is also highly recommended.

29/07/2026: A Provençal meal in a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined square: the perfect opportunity to discover the gardiane de taureau (bull stew) and enjoy the duck breast. A simple and authentic place!

24/07/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant and were disappointed. The salads lacked freshness and didn't match the menu description. It said "cherry tomatoes," but instead, we were served tiny pieces of whole tomato. The green salad lacked freshness, and the grated carrots consisted of just a single sliver of carrot. We were served a bread basket, some pieces of which had already been used by other customers and were therefore being refilled for new tables. We were bothered by cooking smells wafting onto the terrace. In short, we won't be going back.

19/07/2026: The food and value for money are decent, BUT: - When clearing the table, a waitress emptied the used and half-full glasses into the water pitcher! - In the bread basket, a piece had clearly been half-eaten by previous customers... it reeks of recycling! In short, serious hygiene concerns.

03/05/2026: As pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, we had a truly wonderful time at L’Escalandes. The welcome was warm and the meal excellent. Marina is a lovely person, full of kindness. We had a problem with blisters, and she did everything she could to help us. We are from Pas-de-Calais and hope to have the opportunity to return. A big thank you!

30/07/2026: We hadn't been for a while and rediscovered this restaurant. Perfect setting, attentive staff, and delicious food. We had a truly wonderful time and will be back soon. The prices are reasonable considering the excellent quality of the dishes. A special thank you to the owner for his insightful conversation about Chartreuse; he's a true enthusiast and we learned so much about this liqueur. For Chartreuse lovers, there's an incredible number of different varieties to try, and the owner will be happy to advise you.

26/07/2026: A bit disappointed. We had previously been to Château des Îles in Saint-Maur and frankly, it's much better and even a little cheaper. But it's not the price that's the issue; it's the overall service and the quality of the food. Disappointing, what a shame.

06/08/2026: A wonderful discovery after watching the "It's Better When It's Good" video. Authentic cuisine. Delicious local products. Impeccable service. Superb atmosphere. The Reblochonnade is amazing. The doughnuts are to die for. The local cheeses are incredibly flavorful. And the desserts are excellent. A true delight! Bravo!

06/08/2026: Exceptional!!! Recommended by C'est meilleur quand c'est bon. The staff is super friendly and the food is absolutely amazing!!! The potato fritters are completely addictive and the reblochonnade (served in a small wrought-iron grill) is excellent. The blueberry tart and the porcini mushroom dessert are a perfect way to end the meal. We'll be back. Well done to the team, they can be very proud.

26/07/2026: We came last night for dinner as a party of three and honestly, we have nothing to complain about, it was really very good. The lady who greeted and served us was exceptionally kind, and the prices were reasonable. We will gladly return.

07/06/2026: We called two hours in advance and got a table for two on the terrace on a weekend evening! We were charmed by the restaurant, the warm welcome from the waitresses, and the menu. We were served quickly. However, there was one drawback, which was unintentional: we both experienced severe digestive issues after our meal. The common thread was the spaetzle (which, at dinnertime, wasn't cooked enough) and the chocolate fondant, which was extremely runny. Nevertheless, we were delighted to have eaten there and will return. We tried calling the restaurant to let them know, but received no answer (perhaps they were busy). Bonus point: the restaurant accepts the Pass Gourmand!

01/08/2026: Simply the best terrace in Montgenèvre, we had a fantastic meal! Special mention to the cocktails which were perfect after a sporty day! (The généspritz and the green fir were excellent 😍) The staff are also very welcoming! I highly recommend it!
