07/07/2026: We had lunch there during the summer holidays. The meal was excellent, with very good value for money. The ingredients were good, the location was pleasant, opposite the market, with a large terrace. The dining room is air-conditioned. They kindly agreed to create a children's meal with excellent homemade chicken nuggets, and the fries were delicious. We will gladly return.

20/06/2026: We always have our coffee at Le Rallye whenever we go to Soulac. This morning, we went there and noticed that the staff has changed. The waitress is very unpleasant and speaks rudely to people. We won't be going back.

18/07/2026: Good food, excellent service (friendly and English speaking for us tourists). We went twice in our one week stay at the hotel next door. Good options for our kids and the affogato is not to be missed.

18/07/2026: We arrived in the evening, and everything was fine. The welcome, the service, and the food suited everyone. Salad, fish and chips, and a main course with meat and pasta were all available. My daughters enjoyed the fish, and my husband also liked his meat, although the pasta portion was a bit small. However, I got sick, even though I sensed something wasn't quite fresh, but I ate it anyway. The next morning, I had a stomach ache and ended up in the bathroom.

29/07/2026: One star — a deeply upsetting experience for our family We visited Comptoir Principal as a family of five—two adults, two young children and a baby—during our first family visit to Paris. We ordered coffees and other drinks. Our children could not find anything on the menu that they wanted to eat, so I politely asked the waitress whether I could buy them something simple from another nearby restaurant and allow them to eat it at our table. To avoid any misunderstanding, I repeated the question twice and made sure that she understood exactly what I was asking. On both occasions, she clearly assured me that this was allowed. Relying on her permission, I went out and bought some apples and a small pizza for the children. They then ate at the table for approximately 20 minutes. During this time, all members of staff were staring at us, which made us feel extremely uncomfortable. However, nobody approached us or said there was a problem. Then, completely without warning, the manager came to our table and began shouting at us in front of the other customers. He accused us of disrespecting the restaurant by bringing in food from elsewhere. We were shocked. We explained that we had specifically asked the waitress for permission—not once, but twice—and had clearly been told that it was acceptable. Had she said no, we would have fully respected that and would never have brought the food inside. Instead of calmly addressing what was clearly a communication failure between the restaurant’s own staff, the manager continued speaking to us aggressively. Our children became frightened and started crying while they were eating their apples. What should have been a pleasant break during their first visit to Paris became a distressing and humiliating experience. We are a Black family. I cannot know what motivated the way we were treated, but the prolonged staring from members of staff, followed by the manager’s sudden aggression, made us feel singled out and deeply unwelcome. My wife and I are both doctors from UK, and I am a heart surgeon. However, our professions should not matter—every customer and every family deserves to be treated with basic dignity and respect. We told the manager that shouting at customers, particularly in front of frightened young children, was unacceptable when we had simply followed the permission given by his own waitress. Rather than acknowledging the misunderstanding or apologising, the restaurant asked us to leave. We paid our bill in full, cleaned our table ourselves, gathered our belongings and left with our crying and distressed children. The problem was not simply that the restaurant may have a policy against outside food. We would have respected that policy immediately. The problem was that we asked for permission twice, received permission twice, were watched for approximately 20 minutes, and were then publicly shouted at and asked to leave because of a mistake made by the restaurant’s own staff. There was no apology, no attempt to resolve the misunderstanding and no consideration for the distress caused to our children. This was one of the most upsetting experiences i ever had in a restaurant . Based on the way this situation was handled, I cannot recommend this restaurant to families, particularly those with young children. Customers deserve clear communication and respectful treatment, even when a misunderstanding occurs.

06/08/2026: A wonderful experience at this restaurant, where everything was perfect from start to finish 👍. A very warm welcome, a very friendly waiter, and an excellent meal 👌. Homemade, just the way we like it 😍. It's quite popular, so it's best to book in advance (which we did ✔️). The setting is lovely, ideal before visiting the cave. I recommend this restaurant 100% and don't pay attention to the few negative reviews, which are absurd and surprising! The shaded terrace is very pleasant in the summer. Thank you to the chef for this delightful meal; we will definitely be back!

11/07/2026: What more can I say except EXCELLENT! The service was pleasant and professional, even during the busy lunch rush, and the food was DELICIOUS! My beef skewer was cooked to perfection, juicy, and practically melted in your mouth! I've never encountered such high-quality meat in a restaurant before! The tandoori chicken was also excellent. You can tell the chef knows their craft, and it shows in the dishes, as well as in the seamless service. The Chantilly cream was perfectly firm, light, and airy (you can tell it's homemade). We are truly delighted with this very positive first experience and will definitely be back! Thank you for your professionalism; it's so nice to be treated so well!

27/04/2026: I delivered to a Carrefour distribution center, so the nearest restaurant was this one. On Monday, April 27th, at 5:08 AM, I went to this restaurant to stay overnight, and to my surprise, the parking lot was closed because it was "private parking reserved for customers." I am a customer, as I would have liked to eat lunch there; not everyone starts their day at 10:00 AM on Mondays… Very disappointed. It's the first time I've seen this; perhaps they should reconsider.

05/08/2026: A must-visit on the port of Marseille! 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flawless from start to finish! We had a wonderful time at "Restaurant Le Doyen". The place is particularly pleasant, very clean, and the air conditioning is a real plus, especially with the port's heat. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a fantastic team of servers: professional, smiling, and attentive throughout the meal. As for the food, it's a delight! The avocado tataki is marvelous, the mussels are delicious, and their burgers are to die for. Everything was absolutely perfect and fresh. A truly wonderful place, just the way we like them, which I highly recommend! We will definitely be back. The Haute-Savoie team

05/08/2026: I would have preferred to leave a better review, but unfortunately, I wasn't given the chance. I came alone for dinner. Upon arrival, I stood and waited politely to be seated. A waiter replied, "I'll be right back, I'll ask my colleague." Five minutes later, I asked again where I could sit. I was told once more, "Wait, I'll check with my colleague." Meanwhile, two customers arrived and asked me if the restaurant was open. I told them it was. To my surprise, a few moments later, the waiter seated them immediately. I then went over to him and asked, "Since you've seated these customers, can I finally sit down?" He replied that it was a reservation. I pointed out that this wasn't possible, since these two customers had just arrived and had themselves asked me if the restaurant was open. At that point, the waiter seemed to lose his train of thought. He then went back to the kitchen to speak with his colleague. They exchanged a few words in hushed tones, then he returned to tell me that, ultimately, it wouldn't be possible to seat me. I can't say for sure why he refused, but I must admit that this difference in treatment made me deeply uncomfortable. I wondered if my appearance or my background might have played a role. I sincerely hope not, because that would be extremely serious. I had specifically stated that my meal would be quick. When I passed by the restaurant again at 10:25 p.m., the customers who had been seated just before me were still at their tables. It wouldn't have cost anything to allow me to eat quickly. This situation remains completely incomprehensible to me. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this experience really disappointed me. It's a real shame.
