02/09/2024: A short 5 minute walk away from the over priced restaurants in the harbour, you'll find this gem of a place. With perfectly spoken English, the team at Chez DD know their wines! It's not a restaurant, but offers what the French do best...plates of cured years, amazing cheese, divine salads all washed down with the inexpensive but fabulous wine...and change out of Euro60.

13/09/2024: C'est toujours avec le même plaisir que nous venons manger dans cet établissement. Tout y est parfait. De l'accueil au dessert. Les plats sont très bien présentés, et la cuisine raffinée. L'endroit est décoré avec goût. Une belle véranda très lumineuse permet de manger avec une vue sur le jardin très verdoyant, lorsque le temps vous empêche de manger dehors. Le patron, très bon cuisinier est secondé par un autre cuisinier tout aussi talentueux. Il n'hésite pas à venir en salle pour saluer ses clients et partager des petits secrets culinaires. Il est à noter que ce restaurant n'est ouvert que le midi et en semaine. Victime de son succès, la réservation, même pour deux est fortement conseillée. Si vous voulez vous faire plaisir, n'hésitez plus.

09/09/2024: Auf der Durchreise machten wir hier Halt, da die Brasserie nicht weit von der Autobahn liegt. Wir waren angenehm überrascht. Das Ambiente war modern, aber angenehm freundlich. Neben einer Terrasse gab es auch einen Garten. Die Tische waren mit Stoffdecken und Stoffservietten eingedeckt, der Service war flott und zuvorkommend. Die Speisekarte bot eine große Auswahl an leckeren Gerichten, sehr gut waren die Kalbsnieren. Die Portionen waren so groß, dass man es kaum schaffen konnte. Die Preise waren sehr günstig.

06/08/2025: Simple restaurant, old-fashioned decor with outdoor terrace on a small, charming square, only accessible in the summer. Quality cuisine with starter, main course, dessert for less than 20 euros, fast and friendly service, family atmosphere. A lovely address that smells of authenticity and which I highly recommend.

03/12/2025: While strolling along the Saint Aubin sur Mer seafront, I stopped at Charleston for crepes and ice cream. It was a very bad experience. Run by unsupervised young people, the crepes I ordered were cold and tasted like cardboard. As for the After Eight ice cream, it was inedible: two small scoops of mint chocolate (not even good quality ice cream) drowned in Jet 27 for €9. This is nothing like two scoops of mint chocolate with a little chocolate sauce and a splash of Jet 27, served in a glass with a straw and a long spoon – it makes all the difference. In short, a very bad experience, avoid it! However, if you're looking for a good treat, I recommend walking a little further to La Tourelle ice cream parlor, which offers crepes, ice cream, and pastries. A delight!

15/01/2026: The food was very average; most of it probably wasn't made on-site (like the "crispy" warm goat cheese accompanying the salad on the €39 set menu, or the "Catalan doughnut" on the same menu), and if it was, then you need to rethink your recipes! Very disappointed!
