Note for those who might be bothered by the heat: during the mid-June heatwave, the restaurant was unbearably hot (no air conditioning or ceiling fan).
25/06/2026: A very warm welcome, charming bistro decor, attentive service, delicious seasonal dishes, and excellent value for money. A must-visit!

06/05/2026: I went to this restaurant after a business meeting, intending to have lunch there. Before being seated, I politely asked if it would be possible to plug in my laptop to charge it while I ordered, which was clearly poorly received by the waiter, whose response was particularly curt and unprofessional: "This is a restaurant, madam."
I was eventually seated at the manager's request, but without any instructions or assistance (no explanation of how to plug it in, the menu was simply placed there without a word). The service continued in the same atmosphere: unfriendly, distant, and clearly inattentive. Unlike the other tables around me, I was never asked if everything was alright.
As for the food, the bone marrow I ordered was truly awful, to the point of being difficult to eat. Furthermore, the water I requested was never brought to me. I would have overlooked this if the service had been pleasant.
Finally, when I asked for the bill, he simply handed me the menu, showing me how much my dish had cost. He left, and I had to figure out on my own that I needed to get up and pay at the bar, while other customers were being served directly at their tables.
Overall, a very disappointing experience, from the welcome to the service and the quality of the food. I do not recommend it.

22/05/2026: The standout meal of a Bordeaux trip that included several more decorated kitchens. Chef Thibaut Gamba's style is delicate and seasonal — the white asparagus with morels and nasturtium read like a thesis on what Gironde produce can do in May, and the lamb course (rare, layered, with a sabayon and broad beans) was the kind of plate where each element earned its place. The amuse-bouche and pre-dessert were equally considered — no filler, no flourish for its own sake.
Service was precise without theatre, attentive without hovering. The room — wisteria pergola outside, the plush dining room inside the 1848 building — is the kind of setting other Saint-Émilion restaurants are trying to imitate. We came with our own bottles and the team accommodated graciously, glassware and pacing handled as if it were their own list.
One star feels underrated - this is where you want to eat.
20/05/2026: Logis de la Cadène was one of the most unforgettable dining experiences of our entire wedding week in France. The restaurant manages to do something incredibly special — honoring the soul and tradition of Saint-Émilion while carrying an understated modern energy that reminded me of some of the best dining experiences in New York.
The food was elegant, thoughtful, and beautifully executed without ever trying too hard. Every detail — from the pacing of the meal to the warmth of the service — felt intentional and deeply hospitable. Quiet luxury in the truest sense.
In a region filled with famous restaurants, this was the place we left genuinely excited about. A hidden gem that deserves to be talked about far more.

The four of us, dining on the terrace, had a wonderful meal. Among other things, the wild boar stew was delicious, and the cheesecake dessert was divine! And the tomato juice was fantastic too 👍👍😋
22/05/2026: Very charming, local little restaurant in Reims. Recommended by a wine merchant at a local champagne shop. 2 courses for 25 euros, and the food was delicious!

22/05/2026: In the span of two weeks, we ate there twice. The first time was very enjoyable, and the service was fine. Tonight we went back and had to bring our dogs along because it was too hot to leave them in the car. The staff were visibly unhappy about this and ordered us to sit outside. There was absolutely no shade, and we both suffered greatly from the setting sun. The service was unfriendly; they never once came to ask if everything was to our liking or if our dogs wanted any water. The food is good, but with a bit more hospitality, it would be a top-notch place; what a shame!

I was served by the chef himself (thank you, Karl!). The eggs mayonnaise were delicious and beautifully presented.
This was followed by a chilled mushroom velouté, gazpacho-style, topped with toasted hazelnuts—a real treat!

09/09/2025: We arrived quite late one evening, thinking it was unlikely, if not impossible, to get a table. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a very warm welcome, despite the late hour, and impeccable service! All this on the terrace. We were very happy with everything. I highly recommend it, and I will definitely return! (And a little earlier next time :) )

02/05/2026: We went to this place as a family in May 2024, quite by chance. It became one of the warmest memories of our entire trip through different cities. That's why I looked it up, and thanks to AI, my daughter found it! It was quite late, and we were returning from a long day of exploring Paris. The owner greeted us very kindly and said he could make us some sandwiches and coffee. The lady, I think her name was Marie, was waiting for him, sitting at a table next to us with some onion soup, I believe. It was all so charming! And there was a photo of him as a young man with a model, taken at the bar. It was magical to experience that moment, that more everyday reality of such a vast city.
21/04/2026: My favourite place to have a beer in Paris, especially in this area where authentic and affordable bars are rare.

09/04/2026: Disappointing, because it wasn't a class but a pastry "demonstration": participants watched the pastry chef make the cakes but didn't get to do any of the baking themselves. And the recipes weren't even provided; you had to take notes. As a result, once you got home, it was very difficult to recreate the recipes. For me, despite taking copious notes and some photos, it was a complete failure! Furthermore, contrary to the promises made during the class, I received no response to my questions sent via email after the session.

02/06/2026: Another great hotel visited on a motorbike holiday. Rooms clean and tidy and the food was excellent. Bar staff spoke fluent English. The Air Conditioning was excellent too
31/05/2026: The hotel is very good, especially considering we're in a very small town. The water museum is a bonus.
The restaurant has a limited menu, but the food is delicious. The service is exceptional. I'm grateful to the two young women who made an effort to speak Spanish and made our dinner very enjoyable. They alone deserve the highest rating.
