24/04/2026: We spent two nights as a family at La Lionnière bed and breakfast, visiting the Château de Chenonceau and the Beauval Zoo. We highly recommend this peaceful place to those who love tranquility, nature, and animals. The owners gave us a very warm and kind welcome. They introduced us to their animals, who roam freely. We were particularly charmed by Totof, a young castrated goat who loves being brushed, much to the delight of both children and adults. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and the bedding was very comfortable. We also enjoyed our hostess's delicious homemade crepes and jams. A big thank you!

29/11/2025: The hostess was very welcoming and friendly. The inn is peaceful and the bedding very comfortable: I had two excellent nights' sleep with my children. Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking a beautiful garden: ideal for starting the day in complete serenity. I'll definitely keep this address in mind for next time.

14/01/2026: There's a reason why the Auberge de Mestre Elie has existed for over 60 years, despite being located in a hamlet of a dozen houses, at the very end of a 9km departmental road that takes you from 700m to 1400m altitude. There's a reason why it has been featured several times on regional and national news programs (and continues to be). It's because it's magnificent! The location is incredible, the charming hamlet of Bouchanières, on the edge of the Mercantour National Park. Its pretty little church, its view over the Var Valley via the Daluis Gorges... The welcome is warm and friendly; the hostess is so welcoming and kind. And of course, the food is superb, from start to finish, with a special mention for Eliane's ravioli, whether you choose the walnut or meat sauce (and I recommend ordering both if you're a large group)... The best ravioli in the world! In short, it's definitely worth the trip, which is why it's still going strong after all these years, even though it's a bit of a drive to get there. It's truly worth it. If you go, you're in luck. Call ahead to make sure the Auberge is open (which it usually is, but double-check and let them know you're coming). And while you're there, take the opportunity to visit the Bouchanières honey farm (run by another family), and explore this beautiful area, see the church, and so on.

25/03/2026: Really cool, laidback atmosphere. The hosts are very warm and welcoming, and - most importantly - the food is very good. Would absolutely come back next time I am in the neigbourhood of Carcassonne or Toulouse.

29/03/2026: Centrally located with great views. There are several parking lots throughout the town, so it's easy to find parking nearby. The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds, and the hotel is quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. They told us about interesting activities in the area. There's also a lovely little shop selling local products.
