11/02/2026: We arrived at the open door of the restaurant at 11:55 am and were chased away because it opens at noon, a strange welcome for a shopkeeper…a shame because the cuisine is refined and the dishes are presented with care.

Cloth tablecloths and napkins, refined cuisine, rich in flavors, showcasing wonderful local recipes. The service is impeccable, attentive, and accompanied by valuable advice for each dish. 24/02/2026: This restaurant deserves to be better known! Ideally located between Neuville-de-Poitou and Poitiers in Cissé, it's easily accessible with ample parking. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming; you feel right at home with Chef Hubert Varvoux, his wife, and the entire team. They know how to make guests feel welcome, and the food is excellent too, like this beautifully presented fruit gratin for dessert. Even other restaurants in the area don't take the time to create such a thoughtfully designed and beautifully presented dessert. The pretty butterfly... The prices are very reasonable (you pay more these days at fast-food restaurants... without the quality of a restaurant like this). And the ingredients are sourced locally! So, next time you're passing by, stop by this Auberge de la Cour d'Hénon!

01/03/2026: A friendly, lively bar, with great service, providing good wine, beer and great snacks (like dry sausage). This is a bar that doesn't just take advantage of it's location directly opposite the Chateau, but one that works hard to please and satisfy its customers. Brilliant! Loved it!

28/02/2026: A very pleasant setting, soft retro Anglo-Saxon music, and a super welcome from the hosts. They gave us good wine recommendations to accompany the lovely charcuterie and cheese board. The charcuterie wasn't fatty, and the local products were excellent. We had a wonderful time together.

28/10/2025: Mixed feelings! My partner's pizza was delicious, but my pasta with clams was frankly mediocre for the price! As for the "homemade" tiramisu, if that's what it was, it looked nothing like the picture on the menu or the description. And the taste... nonexistent, bland! In short, just get a pizza.

21/02/2026: We received a very warm welcome, and my small dog was accepted. The meal was delicious, from the appetizer to the dessert. I recommend the Asian salad.

07/02/2026: The dishes were excellent, especially the salmon tartare with passion fruit and the duck. I didn't like the verrine; it had very little chestnut and tasted too much like my fromage blanc. The service was efficient and the waiters were very attentive. I recommend it.

11/07/2025: Fresh, delicious food in a beautiful, crisp and traditional Brasserie environment! Sadly I seem to be experiencing a trend of lackluster service in these iconic restaurants. It may be due to the sheer volume of covers they experience but it’s disappointing nonetheless. Service is OK, but not in line with the food quality or the French savoir faire. Service team seem to be on auto-pilot, and miss opportunities to showcase this integral part of the French dining experience.
