03/05/2026: I loved it. The welcome and service from the waitresses were perfect! The dishes were beautifully presented and, above all, delicious. I highly recommend this place. Sorry, I meant to include a picture of the dessert, but my sweet tooth got the better of me! Lol

22/04/2026: At an altitude of 1000m, a stop is a must in this lovely green setting. A very warm welcome and unexpected cuisine await you in this village of 100 inhabitants. It's a real restaurant, not a brasserie. Delicious, high-quality, sophisticated dishes, and very professional service with a smile. A word of advice: Book ahead!

03/03/2026: The food is terrible, though the sleep is awful. It's unbelievable that in 2026 they're still offering such mediocre quality products for a €16 breakfast. The sourcing policy goes against common sense and environmental and public health realities. It's a real shame because overall it's a lovely establishment run by very friendly and welcoming staff.

03/03/2026: Hello, We stayed with you this weekend, but unfortunately we didn't get the room with a balcony we requested. A major drawback was the restaurant being full with people who weren't even staying at the hotel. Otherwise, it was a great hotel.

24/04/2026: La Roseraie is a sure bet in Montbrison. Once again, during a family lunch, we enjoyed the quality dishes prepared by the Chef and his team. The service is excellent, and the setting is lovely! I highly recommend it, and congratulations to the whole team! 👏🏻

06/04/2026: On Easter Sunday 2026, we celebrated a baptism at La Roseraie with a table of 17 guests. It was a first for some of us, while others are regulars, but we all left delighted with the day. The event was important to me, and the staff at La Roseraie understood this perfectly. I was able to visit several times before the meal to see the assigned room, discuss the menu with the chef, and review the wine list. We were kept very well informed and supported right up to the day. And on that day, everything was perfect: lovely decorations, excellent and refined cuisine, and incredibly kind service staff. It's wonderful to see such professionalism from everyone involved. A very special thank you to the person who assisted me in preparing this event and who demonstrated remarkable attentiveness and presence throughout the meal. He will know who he is. This is without a doubt the best restaurant in the Forez region. We will be back!

27/04/2026: One Saturday evening during the Easter holidays, we booked dinner through The Fork. The starter: a poached egg on a bed of local forest mushrooms. It was good, but I would have preferred a runny yolk. That texture would have provided the missing element that made the dish so special. The tagliatelle with truffle cream and scallops, however, was delicious. Perfectly cooked al dente, with well-prepared ingredients. The price is steep, which leaves some unmet expectations. The waiter handed us stained, dog-eared menus, betraying a lack of attention to detail. Having a dirty menu in your hands, in an environment where hygiene is paramount, doesn't exactly create a positive impression. The polyphonic singing was nice, but throughout the entire meal, it became a bit tedious. The place is intimate and worth discovering. You'll eat well, but expect to pay over €100 for two. Personally, I find a plate of tagliatelle, even with truffle cream and scallops, priced at €31 a bit overpriced. Another point: the herbs used to garnish the dishes could be more varied. This is a pretty good restaurant, but it seems to be resting on its laurels.

Located away from the seaside spots with their ubiquitous mussels and fries, this is an address to remember and discover, even for someone like me who's been coming to the region for over thirty years!

13/02/2026: I sat down at a table at the restaurant Le Canclaux, which I highly recommend. The welcome was warm, the food was magnificent, very well served, and the price was quite reasonable.

21/01/2026: If you're visiting Nantes and can only go to a few restaurants, this should be one of them. If you like steak, their onglet de boeuf is the best steak we've ever had, anywhere, of any kind -- I don't care what cut, or if it's slathered in foir gras -- their onglet is our favorite steak, and we don't know why. Everything we've ever tried there (and we go there often and like variety) has exceeded our expectations. Reservations are a must, because we're not the only ones who've discovered this place. Some places excel in either their starters or their desert, but here it's hard to have only one or the other. Their menu, which changes regularly, typically has 3-5 starters, 5-7 mains, and 3-5 deserts, so always a good variety, and always something new. We strongly recommend.
