22/04/2026: Based on a recommendation, we ended up in this wonderfully peaceful spot and spent two beautiful days there. At check-in, Mathias kindly gave us an upgrade, allowing us to enjoy a magnificent view of the stunning landscape from our room. The five-course dinner was excellent, and the service was attentive yet unobtrusive. Colmar and other attractions are nearby. We highly recommend the hotel and restaurant and would love to return!

23/10/2025: Excellent stay at the Logis Hôtel du Herrenstein! Very comfortable and spotless room, delicious dinner and a top-notch breakfast with fresh fruit salad and a lovely sweet and savory selection. Very friendly and professional staff, and super convenient parking. I highly recommend it!

20/10/2025: We spent a weekend night there. The welcome was very warm. Our room was clean and relatively large, although perhaps a little dated, but it fit in with the setting. The view from the room is simple but pleasant; I think at this time of year we were almost the only guests. I particularly recommend the restaurant, which is very beautiful and where we ate very well for a reasonable price.

08/03/2026: What a delightful surprise this charming restaurant was, tucked away in a rather dreary cul-de-sac! The welcome is cheerful and warm, the decor a clever, slightly kitschy blend of seaside and mountain themes, and the lighting is perfectly balanced to allow you to admire what's arriving on your plate. The menu is extensive, inventive, and promising. This is confirmed when the dishes are served: everything is fresh, beautiful, flavorful, and served without delay. We enjoyed the langoustines and the confit lamb in a pastry crust, which we chose as starters (both generous portions), and then we savored the hake with sorrel and confit potatoes, as well as the fish quenelle with shellfish jus. The desserts are excellent, with a special mention for the caramelized apples and meringue, a reimagined version of the common floating island found elsewhere. Very reasonable prices again (76 euros for two, starter-main-dessert plus two half-pints of Leffe) when compared to what the other tourist trap restaurants in Villard dare to charge for over-prepared and soulless food. An original and welcoming place that makes you want to return very soon with friends! Thank you, Mr. Charentais. 😊

12/01/2026: What a delight this little restaurant is! Finally, something other than "mountain" fare. Everything was new to us: lamb confit with morels in a pastry crust, oysters and scallops with parsley sauce, suckling pig offal stew, Charentais-style chowder, mashed potatoes with cabbage... A true delight, and served with a smile, too! Good value for money. Highly recommended!

A huge thank you to Fanny, who served us with such joy and good humor, and above all, always with a kind thought for Mom. Thank you to this wonderful team who provided such enjoyable moments, both through the food and the hospitality. It's definitely etched in my heart, and I will return with my children to remember all the wonderful times spent in this place where people are, above all, genuinely kind, and that's rare indeed. I recommend this place to everyone. Thank you to the whole team.

The cuisine offers something for everyone, from gourmets to those seeking a lighter option. Choose from a set menu of starter and main course, main course and dessert, or starter, main course and dessert—it's very simple and convenient. I recommend the Caesar salad or the set menus, depending on your appetite. Congratulations!
